Two probably easy questions from a very new guy

Does a mention of a name show up in the post preview?

And two, what's up with private roleplays? A majority seem private, but there are a few that just look like anybody is commenting on them but hey maybe they talked about it behind closed doors or something, I'm just trying to figure it all out, cheers in advance.

In order:

If you coded in the tag, then it should show up in the post preview. However, the person you tagged won't be notified until you post. Probably.

Rather than fixed location threads, Chaos uses a more fluid format. Private threads take place solely between the participants. They're more or less free to do as they please without fear of outside interference. Obviously, there are limits, as you can't wreck someone's stuff in a private thread without their consent and expect them to hold it as canon. Public threads are, unless otherwise stated, open to any and all who wish to participate. You can jump in at any time, though doing so with the intent of wrecking the storyline in place is a good way to be ignored.
