Two For One and Done

CORUSCANT
The Undercity

The flow of souls on the core's jewel is the perfect distraction for anyone looking to hide. No matter who rules in the planet.

And in its underbelly there are no rules except one: Might makes right.

Naturally, however, people live down there in droves and many travelers explore the lower levels in search of that which would not be found elsewhere. For one reason or another, Janeth happened to be one of these people. That was until the Collective gave her a sudden memo.

Now I've upgraded myself to kidnapping? She sighed.

There were many targets to identify, but one woman wasn't going to kidnap them all. Time to begin.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
Jak laughed, tossing down a whiskey as he listened to his companion's story. "That's - that's rich... wow... and here I thought I had it bad with Hutts and bikinis."

Leaving the bar, he tossed a credit chip in the air, wondering what he was going to do next. He had just gotten a nice big paycheck, and was celebrating the best way a Corellian knew how - get drunk and wake up some time later.

Problem was, these drinks were just not doing it for him. He needed something sugary, but that just didn't seem to exist on Coruscant, for some reason...

Chikako waved goodbye to the latest diplomat as they left the senate building, heading back to her private speeder, the crisp winds flowing against her long black dress, "Another talk down, another allied gained, for the CIS, I hope things stay good enough to prevent any futures wars, though I can understand the GA wanting to ally with us, being so close to the GE makes things a little difficult".

The young woman then grinned slyly to herself, 'But whats not all, with each of these talks my own power and influence grows, soon, oh so soon, I will have what is mine', "Did you say something else my lady", she turned around to her Jedi body guard, an innocent smile on her face, "Oh nothing really, just personal things, let us be off now". With a childish skip she went ahead of her escort and to the speeder, in time the galaxy, would learn the name Liona.

Typically, Cassius Droma disliked visiting Coruscant. The last time he was here, he had a near scrape with death. Then again, he was having near scrapes with death in a lot of places, lately. He just had to learn how to get over them. Even now, he’d elected to come to the lower levels – the dreary parts where the sun hardly reached the floor.

He’d come in order to visit the Jedi Temple and peruse their archives, and more importantly, their artifacts. It was a three-day trip he’d carved out for himself, and so far, it had been fruitful. A lot of artifacts had been shown to him that a typical citizen wouldn’t be able to see, and he’d taken as many notes on his datapad as he could.

It was the end of the day, and Cassius was eating at a restaurant that had been recommended to him by another Jedi. They had droved on and on about it when Cassius had mentioned he was going to Coruscant, so he figured he might as well try it for dinner. Surprisingly, the food was incredible – apparently these ‘hole in the wall’ types of places were either big hits or big misses. Looking out the window, Cassius watched the vagabonds and other shady characters shuffle by.

How would three unrelated people find themselves at one pinnacle moment in time?

Janeth was about to find out tonight. Her first target was an easy one. She noticed the slight stagger, the off glance that peered into the crowd. He was drunk, and she knew it. How drunk? She was about to find out.

The mandalorian made a beeline for [member="Jak Sandrow"], dressed rather practically save for the duraplast chestpiece she wore. Though that wasn't going to arouse suspicion, as many people wore armour on Coruscant. Either it was due to their line of work, or perhaps because they felt a certain need to protect themselves in the off chance that things went badly.

"Hey!" She called out to him, waving in as friendly of a manner as she could. One red glove on her right hand, and her left naked.

Assuming he didn't turn her away, Janeth put a spring in her step and wore a smile on her face.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
He turned and smiled, waving back. "Hey yourself! ...Is there something I can help you with?"

His own jacket was a custom-tailored one, but she could easily see from the fit that there was no armor underneath. No, Jak was celebrating, not out for a rumble. And, despite the litre of whiskey in his stomach, he was still just as sober as he had started - though he did intend to change that.

"I'm looking for a place that serves slightly fruitier drinks than a lot of the establishments around here. Most of them serve what can only barely be described as 'whiskey', but that's just not doing anything for me right now. You wouldn't know a good dive that'd serve stuff like that, would you? You're welcome to join me."

Chikako childishly skipped down the stairs of the CIS enclave on, jumping sideways into the private air speeder present, earning a sight from her body guards and driver alike, the knew when she had such an attitude they were in for a odd day of appeasing the countess with all sorts of strange requests. "Now with all that hubadalo out of the way, time to have ourselves some fun, driver take us to one of those bars I have heard so much bout in the City planet, maybe stop by one of those charming little diners along the way, I hear they a quite popular".

The driver shook his head and let out a small sight, there was not a lot he could do, the woman payed his wages and he got to visits many nice places, though he wish the Noble Echani took some precautionary measures when on other worlds, specifically one with such free reign as Coruscant. With the familiar sound of its engines starting up the air speeder departed from the enclave g to on of the commercial districts of the plant the never sleeps.

As Cassius finished his meal and left the right amount of credits on the table, he briefly considered what to do next. Since he was dressed as a Jedi, and wasn’t necessarily in one of the nicest parts of Coruscant, his immediate instinct was to go back to his quarters that had been assigned to him during his stay here. There was a lot of other historical texts he could read up on, or he could just sit back and watch some Holofilms. Either way, he didn’t exactly want to stay on the street much longer. He was getting strange looks just by wearing his robes and lightsaber.

Something told him to explore a little bit, though. He wouldn’t be able to navigate the galaxy on his own as well if he kept hiding from it. Sighing, he stood from his table and wrapped his long cloak around himself, putting his hood over his head. At least that would cover up the majority of his appearance and make it slightly less obvious that he was a Jedi.

Moving out the diner doors, he pulled his cloak tighter around himself as he started to weave through the crowds. There were tons of people everywhere – friends meeting up, others stumbling around drunk. Needless to say, he wanted to merely people watch, and hopefully not get involved in anything.

Easy.

She kept her smile. "Of course, there's a nice place just down the street. Shall we?" The Mandalorian waved him along to follow her. She would lead him down the street, through the bustling crowd, and a little out of the way along a side alley. There a lit sign revealed a cantina club tucked away from all the others.

A small crowd gathered outside of its entrance. A variety of species, mingling and laughing. Janeth would walk past them too, stepping through the entrance and into the establishment. The music grew louder as they walked inside, and there were at least several dozen patrons scattered around the place. It appeared there was another room towards the back, though a bouncer stood guard beside the door.

"I'm a bit of a regular, actually." She commented as they stepped up to the bar. The bartender walked on over after giving a Bith his drink.

"You're back already?" He snorted. A rather tall near-human, with an aged face and thick white hair. "The usual?"

She leaned into the bar, placing her elbows atop the counter. "Yeah ,for both of us." She gestured with the tilt of her head towards Jak. Meanwhile her eyes filtered through the crowd. Searching for more of that distinctness, that little something which sparked the curiosity inside her.

Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
Jak nodded in gratitude. "Thanks!" It had been a while since someone had gotten a drink for him, and he appreciated the gesture.

Looking around at the bar as a whole, he asked his new drinking buddy, "So... what brings you to Coruscant's underbelly? Looking for an off-the-market weapon? Drugs?" He grinned, looking away. "At least I know for a fact you didn't come to chat up the local flora."

Lioans air speeder slowly made it way to the less bustling areas of the city plant, most likely only the well informed would recognize her as a CIS diplomat, for the most part Chikako appeared to be your average rather affluent member of society, her private craft touching down outside what the driver knew to be a prominent dinner, the time of day making it a little less busy then usual. "So quaint and quite, reminds me of all the other places I visited on my past travels... only much more cleaner and not full of bounty hunter, anyways let us eat, I am paying and no exception, you all deserve a nice rest after our long week".

Her body guards and driver gave a slightly shrug before following the young Echani into the small dinner, earning a warm welcome from the owner, surprised to see someone that looked important, "ah hello their come come, I will be with your shortly". The small group of 4 sat down, Chikako's body garuds flaking her each side while in the booth, "Mister driver, since you have been here before, why don't you recommend something for me to have, hmmmm".

Once again, he felt the pull of the Force, this time towards a seedy-looking bar. The young Jedi’s face frowned a bit as he stepped inside. The ways of the Force were mysterious, he knew that, but did they have to be this mysterious? And did he truly have to be in this bar? With a few shady looks thrown his way, Cassius made a beeline for a booth in the corner, his back to the wall. From here, he could see the entire establishment.

A disinterested Twi’lek waitress came up and asked him what he wanted without even looking at him. When he said meiloorun nectar, that was when she peered over her datapad at him. He merely looked back, eyebrows raised. As she gave him an once-over, she could see that he was clearly a Jedi, or some type of monk, so she just shrugged and headed off.

Cassius scanned the room once more, trying to figure out just why the Force brought him here.

"Only the best drinks." She replied.

Janeth took a sip from the hard alcohol, letting loose a soft sigh afterwards. "What are you exactly? Not to sound rude." The Mandalorian looked around the cantina once again.

Though left her ears attentive to her new friend, listening to what he had to say.

The locals for the most part were a diverse bunch. Humanoids, non-humanoids, and even a few droids. Although they weren't here to drink, there were plenty without masters in recent centuries. Some even going so far as to demand equal status amongst sentient species.

Another topic for another day. Now she had to think about how to isolate Jak.

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"Ah, it's fine, I get it often enough. I'm a plant-human hybrid, a Vinithi. Actually, I'm the first - and the Vinithi besides me are different enough that I could almost be a species of my own."

He took a sip from his drink as well, giving an appreciative sigh as the drink sizzled into his stomach. "Mmm... ahhh. And you?"
