Two Birds, One Stone

Bespin_ps.jpg

Bespin , a Gas Giant in the Outer Rim territories, was a major source of Tibanna Gas. The World had a long history dating back to the era of the Empire and beyond. It had been this world where Han Solo was entombed in carbonite and that Darth Vader had severed the hand of his son, Luke Skywalker, in an epic clash of lightsabers. Nowadays Bespin still severed as a primary source for Tibanna Gas so not much had changed. The Omega Protectorate had, at one point, claimed the world amongst numerous others in their cloud of influence but now Bespin lay in neutral space unoccupied by any form of major government. As usual it continued doing business influenced by corporations and those who oversaw the mining operations....

Cloud City, Bespin

...the YTA-1300 Light Freighter came out of hyperspace preceded by a flash of light. Andras sat back in the cockpit, hands on the console of the ship and gritted his teeth quietly while taking a breath. According to the intel he'd received this was the place. They'd be here, on Bespin, unless the Mandalorian had arrived two steps behind the duo that he sought. Piloting the Light Freighter he began to steer it towards the atmosphere of the gas giant looming in the distance outside of his viewport...

...the Light Freighter entered the atmosphere of Bespin, dipping into the clouds as it set a trajectory for Cloud City the largest tibanna gas refinery on the planet. Enroute Andras would transmit several undefined codes which stated his business to traffic control in charge of the landing pads that littered the outskirts of the station. Within a short amount of time the Light Freighter had landed, the ship had powered down and the docking ramp had descended where the footsteps of the Mandalorian followed alongside his growing silhouette during the descent he made....

...Andras was met on the landing pad by a man who he considered a paid contact. Exchanging a data stick with the appropriate codes Andras was the recipient of some very specific information. Sena Lassiter ([member="Darth Drethi"]) and [member="Ameli Trahir"]. Ever since Ord Mirit he'd been hunting them, tracking them and now Andras finally believed he had them in his clutches. Dressed in his Neo Crusader Armor, with several other perks included, Andras held his helm in the crevice of his left armpit, his right arm came up and he touched the scar running down the side of his neck where he'd been cut on Ord Mirit leaving him with a nice scar then he moved onward. A Beskad was sheathed over his back its handle coming up over his right shoulder...

...passing through set of doors that hissed wide to allow him entry Andras proceeded towards the location where his contact has informed him he could find his quarry...

Cloud City wasn’t a place Sena often visited. Something about the place reeked of hazards to her, but she had never been one to shirk duty when it came to it. Not that she wanted to, she may have found herself a favorite pass-time but the goddess still had her will and Sena was her sword. Vahl had already tried to bring her wrath upon Sena’s quarry but failed, that’s when the Sword got called in; to solve the big problems they had.

But this time she hadn’t done it alone. From his dossier it had been known he had a weakness for blondes and when it came to that, well, there was only the one blonde that Sena could truly think of.

Even if that blonde was hers.

“You were amazing. Again!” Sena nearly skipped next to Ameli. “Where did you learn that thing with the knife? That’s a new one. Have you been going at it alone?”

The newly knighted Sena jumped to conclusions like a mother hen but then quickly realised the lecture she had gotten about Ameli already being pretty adept at handling situations on her own at this point. At least personal situations such as this and even if Sena wasn’t the one to deliver the killing blow she still felt the rush of excitement at knowing she had one way or the other successfully fulfilled her master’s will.

Even if Ameli was the one to do it in it’s blood-dripping ecstasy galore.

The duo continued down a less populated alleyway while Sena remained blissfully unaware that the hunters were, in fact, being hunted.

This was the first time she'd been to Bespin. She had yet to make her mind up about it. Certainly it was very different than other places she had roamed in the past, but as far as entertainment value, it had a lot to compete with. Let's see if Bespin could leave her with a fond memory or two.

"Of course! Were you surprised?" Ameli said with a grin, visibly amused from the fact that Sena was actually skipping. Sena. It had been a good day. Murdertime funtime. "Yeah" Ameli admitted, almost sounding a bit shy. "I'm trying to become better, like you." Was it good enough? If she had kept her secret training hidden longer, could she have impressed her more? The Sith Knight was more than capable, and had become the very ideal which she strove towards. Next to her, she had felt so insufficient, so incapable. Of course she had trained. She didn't want Sena to think less of her for not being able to keep up. So Ameli had worked in training, as Sena attempted to show her everything she knew, and after that, in private, Ameli had worked even harder. She didn't care about the Sith or power for power's sake. She just didn't want to be an embarrassment to her companion.

...holofeeds littered Cloud City. Literally every part of the city was under some kind of surveillance in so far as the street level was concerned. The Holofeeds assisted Andras in tracking his quarry after his arrival. Once payment had been exchanged with his contact and he'd set off Andras would lift his helm up and set it down over the crown of his head, locking it into place before his visor came to life and the digital systems available to him came online. Within no time the Mandalorian had immersed himself into the populace of Cloud City, many of whom were weary of a man that came dressed similar to what many bounty hunters would look like. Today there was no contract beyond a personal one though...

...access to the holofeed was made available to Andras on an extremely limited basis and used to search for two faces in the crowd. Sena Lassiter and Ameli Trahir. It would take time but Andras was on the hunt, the trail was real and so was the duo that he was following...

...they'd entered down one end of the alley and as the proceeded the silhouette of a man would have appeared on the other, stretching out towards them before his voice rang out from beneath the cover of his helm...
"Don't you girls know not to wander down alleys?"...perhaps they recognized his voice or the color scheme of his armor..."We never got a chance to finish on Ord Mirit."...and this time there was no one around to turn this duo into a trio by leaping onto his back...

...the Neo Crusader Armor he was wearing was easy to identify but there were plenty of others toys Andras had brought as well like the Beskad sheathed over his back, the Fett Kel Trenchknife in his boot, the Wrist Slugthrower on his left arm and what looked like a fancy Heavy Blaster Pistol tucked into a holster over his right hip. Not to mention what he was carrying. An E-17 Gladiator Assault Rifle that he tucked against his right side and leveled towards the pair...
"Your move."...it was cliche in a way but appearing opposite them Andras couldn't just squeeze the trigger and send a barrage of high velocity shells at them. It seemed unsporting even by his standards...
Gear:
Neo Crusader Armor
Beskad
Fett Kel Trenchknife
AT-1 Wrist Slugthrower
E-17 Assault Rifle
Fancy looking "Heavy Blaster" Pistol, maybe.....

“You did very well.” Sena nodded as she spoke. “Just too bad we couldn’-...”

A silhouette blocked their path as a beskar-clad warrior separated the two girls from the path to their ship. The laughing stopped, the admiration and praise quieted by the encroaching figure of their next opponent. It stood to figure someone would find them sooner or later but for all it was worth Sena had always imagined it to the the former or possibly never.

“Don’t you girls know not to wander down alleys?” The voice called out. “We never got a chance to finish on Ord Mirit.”

Sena hunched down on instinct. Her hand hovered above by her waist as her fingers dangled above the hilt of her saber. Here eyes set themselves upon the Mandalorian and refused to linger away. She could take him, probably. Her head turned to look at Ameli to make sure her friend was ready but she truly didn’t know whether that was the case or not.

And why was worry suddenly a big part of this equation? She knew Ameli could take care of herself, but...

‘I will not hold it against you if you run.’ Sena let the message be implanted upon Ameli’s mind. She didn’t know why, it felt like something that needed to be said. ‘I can probably take him. Probably.’

Uncertainty, he had been more than enough for three acolytes. At this point they were an acolyte and a knight, yet the power balance still seemed equal to what it had been the last time the three of them had met each other.

A hand slowly removed the lightsaber hilt from her belt. The rifle still fixed at the two women Sena looked at the old man with nothing but contempt.

Without any inclination as to whether the fight would start or not Sena grabbed a telekinetic hold of a nearby Garbage Can and tossed it at the Mando.

“Get into cover!” Sena barked at her friend as she ran for cover behind a dumpster.

"Don't you girls know not to wander down alleys?" That voice. She didn't immediately recognize it, though it did carry with it that familiar clang. That accompanying the familiar sight of his armour gave her a pretty big hint as to who he was. This was the same guy they had encountered on Ord Mirit. Was it a mere coincidence? That seemed unlikely. He had most likely been hunting them. If that was the case, the irony of it all was not lost on her. It was amusing, in a way. Now they were the hunted ones.

The sight of the man lowering his assault rifle and pointing it at them was equally a familiar image. It was a reminder of the way he had opened their engagement on Ord Mirit. She had no reason to suspect this would be any different. Her hand grabbed for her lightsaber, its hilt finding its way into the firm and welcoming grip of her right palm.

It was around this time that Sena gave her an out, telling her it was okay if she wanted to flee. The mere notion of it all made her laugh. The voice being in Ameli's head, it wasn't unlikely that the hunter would think she was laughing at him. 'No' Ameli telepathically replied to Sena. She sounded calm. She was, although she felt her excitement steadily rising. 'You don't seriously believe I'd just ditch you in a fight? He seems to want the package deal. Let's give it to him' Team Double Trouble, go!

No barrage had been launched their way yet. But what was the point of waiting around for the inevitable? With Sena's call to go for cover, Ameli followed closely behind. The two girls found the protection of the dumpster. Overlooking the area, it wasn't exactly ideal for them. However, there was one way, perhaps, where they did not get insta-karked. "Help me with this, will you?" Ameli said, not really waiting for an answer before she summoned the Force.

It had been a while since Ord Mirit, and Sena had been a dutiful teacher. The blonde was a quick learner, and her friend had showed her much in the time they had spent together. Which, really, was all of their time, more or less. Calling upon the power of the Force, she put both hands on the dumpster. Obviously, the physical strength of the girl was not enough to even make it budge. Yet it moved. It disconnected from her hands, but Ameli remained; on her knees, arms stretching out before her, while she slid the dumpster forwards.

...Andras had positioned himself at the far end of the alley opposite the duo where he watched them without knowing they were communicating telepathically with one another. Then the battle began not with shots fired but with the call of Darth Drethi to take cover which had been preceded by the telekinetic hurl of a nearby garbage can. The Mandalorian braced himself on his back foot as the garbage can came at him and turned his forward side into the projectile before a relatively stunted impact was heard and Andras stumbled back several paces then recovered his footing. By that time Drethi and Ameli had already taken cover further down the alley behind a large dumpster and Andras, tilting his head would grunt as he glanced at the garbage can now blemished with the indent of where it had collided with the Neo Crusader Armor he wore...

...relying on the advanced optics of his helmet package Andras scanned the length of the alley however it didn't take long for him to realize it was likely that the two were behind the dumpster that was steadily moving forward, scraping along the floor of the alley propelled by an unseen force. Andras moved forward, down the alley and broke into brisk jog as he covered the distance between himself and the presumed location of his prey. As he went his leg muscles would tighten and nearing the dumpster the Mandalorian would leap into the air causing the Jump Servos in his armor to activate effectively doubling the height and/or range that he could jump. That wasn't all though. When Andras took to the air he did so in style by activating the jet pack integrated into his armor. The Jet Pack roared to life, carrying the Mandalorian higher after he'd leapt and lifting him up over the dumpster as he arced into the air before slowly cutting off and dropping him further into the alley somewhere behind Drethi and Ameli...

...landing back into the alley Andras would immediately turn, the E-17 Assault Rifle would raise and squeezing the trigger he began to unload burst fire on the duo. The E-17 tucked itself against Andras right hip, his left arm reaching out to support beneath the barrel and limit recoil. Usually hip fire wasn't the most accurate but the advanced optics in his helm would help reduce that disadvantage to an extent. Last time they'd met Andras had targeted Ameli early on but this time, this time he focused on Darth Drethi sending a barrage of gunfire that was centered on her and intended to rip into her...

...when Andras had landed it had been well out of arms reach of his opponents but knowing the advantage of pressing an offense he'd move forward slowly while squeezing the trigger on his assault rifle. Underneath the cover of his helm Andras was keen, calm and collected, aware of his surroundings and taking them in to the full extent; he'd even upgraded his armor a bit since the last meeting and there were a few surprises in store...
"Come on girls. Show me what you've got."...he'd call out over his helmet comms..."There's no one to jump on my back today."....

There was no stopping the smile on Sena’s lips. The second Ameli had uttered her intentions of staying with her there was a strange sensation running rampant through her entire body. Weights seemed to be lifted off of her shoulders, bubbles seemed to just ever so tickle inside her stomach. Obviously they didn’t, but the feeling was all the same. Excited joy, a reaffirmation of what both girls already knew for one another.

“You’re the best.” Sena uttered as she too placed herself behind the dumpster. “Absolutely.”

It was awfully quiet for a while, but eventually the armor-clad form of the Mandalorian commando soared above them. It landed on the other end of the alley from which they had arrived, and just like that the ever familiar sound of a blaster being fired called out within the enclosed space of the alley. Saber withdrawn Sena rolled away from the immediate burst. Feet on the ground she rose up and ignited it. The same orange hue as before shone up the half-Vahla’s features.

Focus set on deflecting the bolts right back at her old enemy and newer archnemesis.

For the longest of times Sena had lived with the idea that nobody hunted her down and got away with it. All that remained to see if this was something that would hold true or not.

Though for now, mainly attempts at deflecting the shots back at her opponent.

“Give him space.” Sena urged her friend. “Don’t get too close.”

What did he have in there? Slugthrowers, flamethrowers and blasters? He was well-equipped and Sena knew better than to letting her own arrogance get to her head in situations such as these.
