Turiel Aithan was a Miraluka born on Alpheridies into a family of monks. They were a traditionally peaceful group of people, although they did more than train the mind and calm the spirit. The sect also embraced modern-day martial arts, as a way to train the body and under the tutelage of Turiel's Father, whom was an ex Jedi Knight, learned to command the Force.

Life seemed to be quite simple for Turiel until he turned 10 and a terrorist cell began to rise from the poverty of Alpheridies' slums. Over the course of 6 years, they grew in numbers, allocated vast resources, and soon threatened to overthrow the government. When Turiel was 19, the terrorist cell traveled to the Monk's isolated island, seeking to draw them into their cause, but the warriors refused. Angered, the terrorists withdrew from the island, and shortly thereafter attacked them. The battle saw half of the monks slaughtered, overpowered by the sheer number of aggressors they'd been faced with, but finally after a long and dreadful night of chaos, the terrorists retreated.

Deciding to relocate, the Monks gathered what they could and attempted to head towards the mainlands to seek a new shelter. It was during this journey that Turiel's father invited him to the bowels of the vessel to gift him with the family's heirlooms, the first being the Straight Sword of Aithan. A resistant, durable weapon passed down from generation to generation. Accompanied with the sword was a suit of form fitting power armor, something Turiel's father was sure he'd favor over his robes. After donning the gifts, he found himself shocked by the Force Imbued blade as he wielded it telekinetically.

But, Turiel could sense something amiss. There were niggling hints of danger surrounding him, but this was something his father felt for hours now. It wasn't until Turiel himself could fully recognize the impending danger that the ship began to fall under the fire of their recently earned enemies. Anxious to defend his people Turiel turned to head for the deck but his father used the Force to push him into the ship's only escape boat, sealing the door as he landed in the seat. The 19 year old banged on the glass, and screamed at the top of his lungs, but to no avail. Seconds later, his small vessel was forced to separate from the cruiser and sent him plummeting under the ship into the deep below. Deciding to turn the pod around, he rotated his seat to the controls and gained control of the vessel. Steering the ship, he planned to help his family, but as the ship came into his viewport's window the ship exploded, sending a massive underwater shock wave that forced his ship away as he banged his head on the control dash, knocking him unconscious as the ship continued into the depths of the ocean.

The ship's emergency systems activated during his slumber, forcing the pod to balloon to the surface of the water. It was here that he was discovered by the authorities, hours later. Breaching the pod, they recovered his unconscious body and flew him to the capital city to be treated. Once he awoke, he found a stranger in his room. He revealed himself to be a military recruiter, there to inform Turiel of his family's fate and his wishes to enlist the young boy. Accepting the offer, he joined the planet's army. Over the next year he was trained under their regime, learning to use firearms, as well as an assortment of other weapons. Afterward completing the program, he was deployed into the field and over the course of 5 years, became very proud to say that he helped erase the threat of the Terrorist cell from Alpheridies as well as avenge the death of his family.

After helping contribute to such a task, he found his purpose wavered, however. But, what he did gain during this journey was a stronger sense to protect the weak, eradicate those whom dwell in the Dark, and prevent others from going through what he had to years prior. Retiring from the military, he was gifted with a ship to leave the planet with- something he'd utilize to find the Jedi and pick up where his Father left off.
