TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Size: Large
  • Brakes: Manoeuvring thrusters on cockpit and airbrakes on engines
  • Boosters: S-Foils can close together and go into boost mode. This gives exceptional thrust but very poor agility during this ten second phase.
  • Type of engine: Incom Fusial Thrust Engines – heavily modified
  • Paint Scheme: Scarlet stripes from front to back. Rogue Squadron Emblem
  • Sponsor: Incom Corporation
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Secret Weapons: Just like Poe Dameron’s X-Wing that was destroyed on Jakku, the cockpit has a hidden autoblaster that drops down from behind a sliding door. It can swivel and automatically aims at targets.
  • Special Features and Components: Cockpit is enclosed and armoured to the level of a snubfighter, beyond what is the norm for a podracer. BB droid acts as a co-pilot an lets the pilot know what is coming in from behind or any blind spots.

DESCRIPTION

This podracer has a stripped out X-Wing nose and cockpit strung behind the engines of a T-70.

The infamous Rogue Squadron was once marooned on Malastare when Loske Matson headed up the Squadron. They were left in a post-apocalyptic wasteland with almost no way to defend themselves. Loske, Asmus, Choli and Allyson managed to build armed transports out of the parts of their crashed X-Wings.

Being a mechanically included squadron they managed to create several speeder bikes and something that resembled a pod racer. Over the open deserts they fought gangs of gamorreans and mandalorians and managed to survive.

On the announcement of the Galactic Games the Rogue Squadron retrieved what was left of the pod racer from an Alliance storage facility. Incom were contacted to provide some technical expertise and a facility for build and test and they agreed to be sponsors of the team.

The original was worn and badly damaged. Incom engineers scratched their heads at the notion that the abomination could even get off the ground. Components were cleaned and restored, modifications were made. Unlike the original version some brakes were added as tight turns were likely to be involved in any course.

The two pods of the racer are the starboard and port pairs of S-foils from the X-Wing. This appears like two outward facing V’s that are tethered to the cockpit. The s-foils are normally open in attack position. When they close the pilot can boost the engines for extreme power in a straight line, but opening the S-foils to expose the air-brakes and increase manoeuvrability is recommended long before reaching a tight corner.

The cockpit still maintains the autoblaster than can pop out from beneath the hull. As honest military individuals none of the Rogues had any intention of using this, but no one asked them to take it out either…

A BB-Unit can be mounted behind the pilot. The droid has full three hundred and sixty degree visibility so can alert the pilot of anything coming up from behind and can monitor and adjust systems.

The cockpit is enclosed. Should this stop being the case the powerful engines could harm the pilot.

Overall the podracer reminds the audience of an iconic design, is very powerful but a little more crude than some of the entries from renowned podracer designers.
