Affiliation: The Commonwealth
Manufacturer: TaraTari Wartime
Model: TTW-1000
Modularity: No
Production: Limited
Material: Durasteel Hull, Titanium 'Impact Walls', Transparisteel
Classification: Carrier Cruiser

Length: 910m
Height: 180m
Width: 230m

Armament: 2
Defenses: 16
Hangar: 6
Special Features:

  • Impact Walls
  • Deflector Shields
  • Drop Pods
  • Escape Pods
Manoeuvrability Rating: 16
Speed Rating: 16
Hyperdrive Class: 1

Strengths:

  • Impact Walls; The TTW-1000 sports an outer shell on either side of the vessel, although the top and belly of the ship is exposed. The Impact Walls are five meter thick titanium plates. It is designed to absorb the brunt of most attacks in the event the deflector shields are taken down, giving the ship enough time for a hasty retreat.
  • Deflector Shields; The carrier cruiser has standard deflector shields mean't for absorption of enemy fire. Increased strain on the shields will cause them to overheat and falter.
  • Drop Pods; On the underbelly of the TTW-1000 is fifty single-body drop pods to allow atmospheric entry of soldiers. Limited control of the vehicle requires the TTW-1000 to perform a flyby and strategically launch the pods at the desired location.
  • Escape Pods; Limited in number with only thirty located throughout the ship, these escape pods are larger than drop pods and can be steered. They're used for important personnel and crew to safely exit the ship in event the ship is defeated and escort themselves to safety.
Weaknesses:
  • Armaments; As a Carrier Cruiser, albeit for its immense size, it carries very little armaments. Mean't for the transportation of troops or equipment, the TTW-1000 is best to avoid combat rather than engage it.
  • Skeleton Crew; With a crew of little under 400, compared to many vessels the TTW-1000 operates with a skeleton crew. Boarding parties can prove operationally lethal to the ship, and space combat can cripple the crews operational capacity if crew are killed or wounded.
Description:
As the Commonwealth emerges from the galaxy, TaraTari Wartime has had to update their techniques and designs. Introducing the latest technology in deflector shields, whilst still adopting the archaic impact walls of much older vessels from the Kingdom of Alexandria.

With a crew of 350, the TTW-1000 operates on a skeleton crew with a minimum number of personnel to keep the ship running around the clock. The important organs of the vessel has been condensed and kept in the center of the vessel, furthest away from the outer hulls.

The remainder of the ship has been stripped for room: hangers, loading bays, vehicle storage and dormitories. The cruiser is capable of transporting a Commonwealth brigade of 3,000 marines. With this in mind, it has been essential that the vessel is capable of atmospheric entry and flight. Although slow to take off, the cruiser has been designed with the ability to make touchdown on a planet.

Development Thread: No
Intent: To provide a basic limited line carrier for the Commonwealth and a means to dabble in shipbuilding and design while not committing to minor production.

for these specs this will need some development.

Standard for a max size cruiser carrier are armament 4 defense 10 hanger 6 maneuvering 14 speed 15. while you can push this a bit you have to balance out the things you make better with things that are not as good. Your at 910 meters which is cool that wont hurt you when it comes to squadron count. But you have improved armament and improved defense with nothing to balance it.

from the description defense 16 is a bit much. 16 is for things like heavy armor and redundant shielding. also you are using armament as a weakness and increasing it in the rating.

so to keep the armament 5 you will need to take the armament weakness off and add an armament strength. Or make the armament rating 3
To keep the defense 16 you will need to do 20 posts of development. Or you can drop the armament to 2 maneuvering and speed to 16 to balance out the defense 16 with no development.

drop pods count towards the hanger capacity. How big are the pods? single trooper, squad, or platoon size?
50 single pods will count as 2 of your 6 squadrons
50 squad will be a 4
50 platoon size would be too much for a ship this size. as that would be 8 squadrons.

. The cruiser is capable of transporting a Commonwealth brigade.
how large is this classification? brigades can be rather large some up to 16,000 troops. Its not a problem just some people may like to know how many troops the ship can carry.
