Fedrig

Guest
Fedrig walked through the lust forest of Dxun, taking in the views that he could see. He sighed as he thought on the harshness that Tatoonine represent to him, the lost of his freedom, dignity and health. He recognised that for many years Dxun has been considered a terrible site, the lost of lives and darkness that surrounded the planet. He was drawn here, to escape, live one with the wildlife as he rubs his temples slowly to focus his mind. He had to write a message, something he was not good at.

'Hello!

I am contacting you over thanks for freeing me from the services of that cretin of a Toydarian, I am in your debt, if you wish to discuss more on how I can repay for my new freedom. I am located on Dxun if you wish to meet and talk more about it.

Regards,

Fedrig.'

He looked over the message and growled, he hated writing messages, he was a man of few words. Especially written words. He placed his newly received blaster rifle and pistols to one side. He adjusted his brown, hooded tunic and then moved his hands to adjust his brown trousers. Fedrig suddenly thought upon the Mandalorian who had risked his neck for the slave. He sighed as he realised that he had to write another message.

'Salutations!

I wished to thank you for helping me escape from the clutches of that dangerous and deadly Sith, so I wish to offer my gratitude. I realise that you might have questions so I offer you the chance to gain so answers. I am located on Dxun, if you wish to gain some answers that you seek.

Regards

Fedrig.'

He sighed as he grabbed a foothole on a nearby tree and lifted himself and pulled himself to a sturdy nearby branch. He started performing chin ups and building up his full strength and muscles, he had gained more muscles since his freedom, more food and building himself back up to full strength. He had begun to restart the training exercises that the cloners on Kamino had put him on. His tunic was discarded to one side as he worked on his upper body, pale skin glowing in the sun. His tunic and trousers were of the same quality and brown colour to help him blend into the trees as he exercised.

Some Days Later

Img-4.jpg
Ali Hadrix queued her vessel for landing. The old T-6 Jedi Ambassador Shuttle cut through the atmosphere of Dxun swiftly, it's crescent-moon design dipping below the cloud cover. The vibrant green landscape of Onderon's sister-planet was laid out below, rolling hills dominated by dense jungles and bluffs and mountains coated with thick vegetative growth went on for as far as the eye could see. Ali glanced down at the planet through the cockpit viewport and pressed the commlink channel key on her console.
::Fedrig, it's Hadrix. You down there?:: She asked across an open channel. She'd received his message indirectly several days before, it had been redirected through a series of GR channels before reaching one of the many private lines she used for communication within the Intelligence community. For all intents and purposes, it had been a thank you note, and Ali was hoping to turn it into a "Ya sure I'll take a job" kinda note. Ali was in the business of recruiting at the moment, taking time between the various intelligence summits the Galactic Republic was sponsoring amongst her allies.
Ali slowed her vessel's speed and began circling about low in the atmosphere, hoping to hear back from Fedrig immediately. Whomever the man was, he was talented, and useful in a fight. Ali began heavily suspecting he'd been part of a commando program during his time on Kamino. The Kaminoans almost never went without putting effort into their clones, and Fedrig had proven himself far too handy in a fight for Ali to dismiss.

He heard the roars of an engine several days later, he looked up from a branch as he took in the view of the ship hovering above the dense jungles, he started towards a clearing, near one of the waterfalls that cascade down one of the large mountains here. He raced through the jungle towards the clearing as he twisted and flipped, parkouring the unsteady terrain. When he arrived at the clearing he heard the familiar shout of the female who saved him. He smirked, it seemed that she had received his message, even better was the fact that she seemed to have something in mind for him.

Fedrig stood in the clearing, the air blowing against his hair, knocking it backwards as he looked up to the ship. His clothing already starting to show tears, grass and mud stains on it even though he had not spent long here. His voiced raised up to a shout, attempting to grab Ali's attention as he tried guiding her to the clearing to land her ship, but the waterfall seemed to drown his voice out so Fedrig was only left with something to throw at the ship to grab her attention to him.

He picked up a reasonable sized stone and launched it at the ship, he watched as it fell through the air and hit her windscreen, cracking it slightlg, he bit his bottom lip. He had slightly over judged the aiming and the power of the throw. He sighed as he jumped and shouted to gain her attention.

"Hey! Hey! HEY!" Fedrig shouted as loud as his deep voice woukd let him. He waved his arms in the air manickally as he forced himself into her eyeline. He wondered if Braha would make the trip to him as well.

Braha recieved a message from the boy that he had saved from the toydarian. Hmmm, If I am getting this message, I wonder if Ali will end up being there as well. He still had to talk to her about just randomly shooting people when you too impatient with them. He set a course for Duxun in his patrolship, several days later coming out of hyperspace, he saw another ship descending towards the planet. He opened his long range communications relay on his ship and hailed them a few minutes after they had entered the atmosphere. If they were hostile, he wanted to have an advantage against them. "This is the Redemption hailing T-6 Jedi Ambassador Shuttle, Braha Saca speaking." He said hoping he might give whoever was piloting a scare, or recognize his name. "T-6 Would you please state your purpose and destination, over." he left it at that to keep the call short and sweet.

Ali glanced down at her comms display as another vessel trailed into the planet's atmosphere behind her. ::This is the Redemption hailing T-6 Jedi Ambassador Shuttle, Braha Saca speaking.:: Ali didn't recognize the name of the vessel or the pilot, and was about to ignore their communique, until they had the nerve to demand details of her presence on Dxun. She rolled her eyes and opened the receiving channel. ::Redemption, it's none of your business who I am or why I'm here, so kindly bugger off.:: She closed the channel and left it at that, returning her attention to the landscape below. Her sensors were registering a useless amount of lifescan readings; Dxun was far too densely populated for her to rely on such methods. She was about to make another general broadcast when an object struck the cockpit viewport. It didn't damage the screen as its owner was worrying, but did leave a scuff mark Ali would have to rub off later.
That must be him. Ali thought, focusing her lifescan sensors and leaning forward far enough in her seat to see more downward. A large waterfall was cascading from the edge of a bluff to the right of her vessel; at its ending was a large pool with speeder-sized rocks jutting up from its turbulent surface. That's when Ali spotted him, Fedrig, standing about without a shirt on and waving his arms like a wild man. Ali sighed to herself and elevated the ship once more, bringing it to the top of the bluff from which the waterfall was spewing. The top of the bluff was flat and broad, extending Northward for roughly a quarter mile before thrusting upward into a cliff-face. Plenty of room for the ship. Ali told herself as she brought the vessel down onto the rocky surface on the East side of the waterfall and began shutting down the engines.
Armed with only one of her typical sidearms, the DL-44 blaster pistol (she had yet to find the time to replace the Verpine shattergun), Ali locked the ship behind her and walked over to the bluff's edge. The waterfall roared to her left as she looked down and spotted Fedrig. She waved to the boy, then looked around for any way to climb from the top of the bluff. There wasn't one. Ali frowned then stood toe-to-toe with the edge of the cliff and threw herself forward, diving off the edge. Her hands clasped together one over the other as she dropped downward with alarming speed, Ali hit the water smoothly roughly ten meters out from the waterfall's bottom. The water was clear and cool and she could see the bottom as she scraped along it smoothly before pushing herself back upward and breaking the surface of the pool. Taking in a deep breath Ali gasped lightly, searching Fedrig out with her eyes and crawling toward him at the water's surface.
As she made it to an outcropping of rock, Ali climbed out of the water, tugging wet locks of hair from her face and gathering them at the back of her head into a soaking wet pony tail. Pulling her hair to the side as she walked toward Fedrig, Ali wrung her hair out as best she could, then spit the water from her lips and shook off her hands. "You really make a gal work for a meeting, huh?" She called, approaching the young man. She held out a hand for the man to grab. "I'm Ali Hadrix, Galactic Republic Intelligence Ministry. Good to finally meet you."

Braha realized that the woman who had answered was node other than the one that left the dent in his breastplate. He decided to track her ship visually, by his viewport's zooming function, to it's destination because chances were that she had come here to see the boy as well.once he knew where she had landed he went to his armory and equipped his Jetpack and this time in the means of armament, he grabbed a Verpine shatter pistol out of his small stash of weapons. The verpine were his favorite for silent weaponry, and a dc15s which was his alternative to running out of ammunition, as it was always charging at a constant rate. Also after thinking for a moment, he realized the verpine pistols he had were the same type of firearm that [member="Ali Hadrix"] had before that dark jedi/ sith scum had crushed it. Knowing that he had three in his armory, and knowing that he would likely never use more than 2 of them at a time, he grabbed it and put it in a storage compartment.

Sheathing his beskaad, he had his ship pilot itself over the coordinates where She had landed, to jump out of his ship. He loved to do special drops like this, and this was prime time for practice. he had to activate his jetpack precisely when he reached 1000 feet above the ground, or the impact would injure his legs. Holding his body horizontal until he reached 3000 ft, he then oriented his feet downwards. He could now see the woman and the liberated youth talking just a few meters to the right of where he would land. he watched the altitude layout on his hud, but found out that somehow he hadn't needed it. He closed his eyes and waited until he felt it was time to do the deed, then activated his pack. Two seconds later, he was kneeling in the middle of a small meter wide spiderweb pattern on the ground. Standing up, he said "I wasn't expecting to land so close to you two." Hoping that they would pick up on his humor.

He saw the ship twist in the air and realised he had only scuffed the windscreen. He sighed feeling relieved as he scratched his chest. He looked down slightly surprised, he slapped his forehead, admist all the commotion Fedrig had left his tunic back in the thick jungle, be sighed there wasn't time for him to run in and get the top then run back. He likely left it several miles in. He watched as the lady waved to him from the clifftop. He tilted his head, surely she just climb the rocks down, not dive down. Diving would be insa... His thoughts stopped as he watched her dive. It was a near perfect dive, he breathed out relieved once she came up for air. He couldn't handle the questioning of how an Officer died attempting to meet him.

He watched her walk over and felt a well of emotions, not physical attraction or anything like that. What he felt was different, he was grateful but it was more than just gratitude. It seemed that the Kaminoian cloners hadn't taught him how to process this emotion because it seemed to be overwhelming. He shook his head, he was a soldier first and always, he couldn't dwell on such emotions. He reached forward and shook the hand that she offered.

"Hello Ali Hadrix, I'm Fedrig. Clone and now thanks to you freed slave." He looked up and saw the Mandalorian descend in another stylish fashion, was he the only one who thought practically around here? He chuckled to himself as he then looked as the man smashed to the ground, it was slightly unnecessary but he supposed all to their own. He released Ali's hand and walked over to the Mandalorian, offering his own hand to shake this time.

"Hello, Fedrig. Clone trained to be an Elite Clone Commando. By the Kamino cloners." Fedrig explained to both of them after shaking Braha's hand. He thought he might as well start going through his life story sith them. He owed them that much.

"Glad to have met you [member="Fedrig"] ." Braha said after Shaking the young man's hand. "I knew there was something special about you. The name is Braha Saca. And you are?" he said turning to face [member="Ali Hadrix"] , noticing that she hadn't yet replaced the Verpine Shatter pistol that she had fired at him. He pulled out the spare one he had in his small storage compartment. Holding it out towards her he said "A gift, for a potential truce between us, and maybe a second chance for introductions. Just make sure the safety is on if you point that thing at me." He smiled.

Ali had enjoyed Braha's flamboyant entrance about as much as she enjoyed sweating; it wasn't something she cared for, but happened regardless and she had to live with it. Fedrig and Braha greeted one another pleasantly enough while Ali looked on, glancing every few moments to the surrounding forests. The expression on her face was half-boredom, half-frustration. As the Mandalorian man held out the weapon for Ali to take, she waved him off. "Forget it, the Republic buys my gear." She glanced at the Mando'ad. "There's no need for a truce on my end, and I'm sure you could do without one too." The Republic operative looked back to Fedrig, her arms crossed over her chest. "Alright Fedrig, I get it, your special, and that's why I want you on board with Republic Intelligence as an asset of mine. I think you could put all that training to good use; I'd hate to see it wasted." Ali jerked her head at the boy. "I run operations in the Outer Rim, this might be a good chance to glean intel on other slaving operations. You could do some real good out there to people who ended up just like you."

He watched Ali's behaviour, there was some discontent to her attitude towards Braha. He shrugged, relationships between others weren't his concern. He shook his head at her words, working in intelligence wasn't his style, he wasn't bred for spy work, to free slaves wasn't in his training. He had to pause and think of the correct way to inform her of his purpose.

"I wasn't just cloned to be special. I was made to win, I was cloned to get dirty, rough and get covered in blood. I was trained in tatical training but my training was interrupted before I could accomplish it. I just know how to win in a fight, hand to hand, hand to weapon and Im able to use a variety of weapons." He demonstrated his skill with a gun by aiming and shooting down a bird miles above them in the sky. He then lowered his gun as his gaze turned to her.

"I was bred to be a Republic soldier, Im not turning down your offer to enlist. But I can't go around being sneaky and freeing slaves. I need to be on the ground or in the air fighting, it's all I know. I would dismantle that pistol, put back together and shoot a target faster than I could write a sentence." He sighed somewhat, being taught war, and only war did leave his basic skills at a severe disadvantage.

"Well I understand Braha said, slowly putting the gun back into the compartment." He listened to her spill on being in the intelligence agency, and this kid flat out refused the offer to join. "[member="Fedrig"] , You should seriously think about the offer. I am positive a little harsh training would be all you need to go through before the job." Pausing for a second, he turned to [member="Ali Hadrix"] and said "truce maybe not, but I would like to apologize for the mess I caused by trying to outbid you at the auction. I just didn't know your intentions.

Ali frowned at Fedrig's words, thinking of a response while Braha holstered the firearm and reinforced Ali's proposal to the young man. When the Mandalorian turned his attention to her once again, Ali was staring off into the forest. She caught the last half of his words and turned to look at him. She had an eyebrow arched, an incredulous look on her face. "You're apologising to me?" Ali shook her head, wet locks of hair shifting in the light. "You've got a strange sense of propriety, ner'vod." Ali looked back to Fedrig. The man's queer, that's for true. She told herself. Braha was a nice fellow, but nice fellows weren't Ali's business. She got things done for the sakes of lesser people, and nice guys weren't much of a use for that; unless she needed to manipulate something out of them.
"Fedrig, I'm sure you understand that spies are far more than just intelligence gatherers." She allowed herself a devilish smile. "I'm well aware of what kind of training Kaminoan commando clones are put through. You may see yourself as just a grunt, and I assure you, you are," Ali stepped forward and put her hand on the young man's shoulder, then pointed over at Braha. "But sometimes we'll have to take care of men like him, or get information..." She looked at Fedrig and squeezed his shoulder. "And that's where soldiers can be useful."

Fedrig watched as she approached him and squeezed his shoulder, it felt comforting although it once again was something that he had never learnt. He thought upon the offer, he had been told that he was to throw himself into action defending the Republic, to be on the front lines and kill as many as he could. He was brilliant in the simulations, he often killed up to a platoon all on his own while in combat but that was the simulation world, this was different. Reality didn't offer the controlled conditions he had become a fan of, instead he had to work on being the best he could for the Republic.

He sighed, he knew that the Republic's needs came before his own, he smirked when he watched her point to the Mandalorian. He knew that there could be serious trouble in the intelligence business, he was just never very intelligent in that way. He was brilliant in combat but little else beside that so he tended to think intelligence was beyond him. He looked to her then gave a reluctant nod. I understand Ms Hadrix. I will accept your offer of employment then. I must put the Republic first, it is what I was trained to serve for and I will be by your side if that is where you need me.

Braha watched the encounter and smiled. "You know the intelligence business also pays a lot better than just being a pilot or front lines grunt." He said smiling, though he knew it wasn't about the money. To him the combat was all a way of eventually getting revenge on the sith for killing his family. On the outside, It looked as if he enjoyed combat in such a manner. he looked up as his ship came in to land in the clearing next to [member="Ali Hadrix"]'s vessel. Then he decided to ask a stupid question that he would probably never get the answer to. "So what exactly does your intel division do, other than liberate slaves and gather intelligence data on such markets?" Though the question was directed to Ali, he looked slightly towards [member="Fedrig"] after asking. He had always wondered what they did that made so much of a difference to the armed forces.

Ali smiled curtly, nodding at Fedrig. "Thank you, Fedrig. We will be welcome to have you." She bowed slightly, strands of wet hair falling against her neck, cool and refreshing in the warmth of the day time. "I will require your presence at the Capital in order to process your enlistment." Ali drew a datapad from her pocket and pressed a series of keys, then yanked a small holoprojector from its backside and handed it to Fedrig. "This projector contains coordinates of where we need to meet next, whenever you're..." Ali looked around at the forest with a critical eye, "...done doing whatever it is you're doing here." Ali smiled slightly once again as she stowed the datapad back in her pocket, then heard Braha speak as she began to turn away. She stopped at the man's side before dipping back into the water to reach the far face of the bluff. "You remember that thirty kilogram high-explosive bomb that went off in Keldabe six months ago?" Ali gesticulated vaguely with one hand. "You know, the one that blew out the supports for the local hovertrain system that ran through the heart of the city, killing a couple thousand people and setting off a local reactor plant?" Ali waited a moment for whatever look to settle in on Braha's features. "Of course not, because it didn't happen." She tapped herself on the chest. "We're why."
Ali winked and jumped back into the pool smoothly, enveloped in the clear, cool water. She made it to the far end of the pool and climbed out of the water to begin scaling the bluff's face. The cliff itself was rather small, only a dozen meters or so tall. The climb was quick, and within minutes she was shaking her hair out again as she approached the landing hatch of her vessel. Slapping it open, Ali stepped up the ramp and into the vessel's interior, then made her way to the cockpit of the shuttle and activated its power systems. While she waited for the vessel to ready itself, Ali took the band out of her hair and shook it out gently, then stripped off her top and boots before stepping out of her trousers. She returned to the rear of the ship and shut the landing ramp, then swapped out her wet panties for dry ones and sat back down in the pilot's chair. Moments later her vessel was returned to the atmosphere of the planet, and Ali Hadrix was gone.

"Well then I guess you got enlisted." He pulled ulled out his Datapad and looked at it searching furiously for the incedent [member="Ali Hadrix"] had talked about and finding the case files. Of course the story had been exagerated and was actually a week before she mentioned it. then he read that the mando security unit had stopped it from going off. These were official Mando government sources and nowhere did it mention any republic help anywhere, though they might have just left that part out. Putting his datapad aside, he saw another bird flying a couple miles out. He drew and fired his Verpine pistol in one smooth motion, holstered it all before the shot reached the bird and it started it's spiraling fall to the ground dead. He smiled at [member="Fedrig"] and asked "So what have you been up to here on Duxun?" He remembered that the clan Ordo had at one time inhabited this planet after the Mandalorian and Jedi wars. There might be a cache of goodies for them to find in the vicinity. they would have to go looking for them.

He watched as Ali left, he was going to call out to say he would join her as she returned to civilisation but it was fairly too late as she clawed her way up the cliff to her ship. He hadn't heard the incident at all but then again he really didn't have a chance to being a slave was his full time occupation.

He looked to Braha as he shot down a bird, he shrugged, it was a relatively easy shot. He had heard of Dxun's history, during and after the Mandalorian Wars, there were also rumours of its past. He wandered down a beaten path he had made, as he realised there was more Braha wished to know and Fedrig would not deny him that.

"Yeah seems like I got the job." He wandered if there was anything else to do on this moon. "Training. Just training. Brought some equipment from local settlements but otherwise training non-stop." He talked very matter of fact.
