Description:

After the conquest of Ruusan, the leaders of the Sith Triumvirate realized they needed to better equip the sudden influx of Sith tyros to face emerging threats. The construction of armor is to Sith as the construction of a lightsaber is to Jedi. Recognizing this, the Triumvirate produced sets of personal armor with the express intention that they be heavily modified via alchemy by the owners.

The armor is constructed with maximized mobility in mind.

The first layer is an armorweave undersuit woven with cortosis fibers. It is especially thick around the thighs. The armoweave will dissipate energy-based weapons and projectiles, but is not nearly as effective against slug-based projectiles or vibroblades. The cortosis laced through it assists in the dissipation of a lightsaber attack, rendering it capable of withstanding glancing blows with ease. However, several direct strikes to the same region will cut through the armorweave.

Over this is worn a thin shirt and pants fashioned from flame retardant fabric and saturated with cortosis dust. This means that any attack against the armorweave would first have to cut through the thin fabric. For melee weapons and any sort of projectile, this is quite easy, but a lightsaber that comes into contact with the fabric will immediately short out as the dimetris circuits are overloaded from the cortosis dust. A lightsaber without dimetris circuits will have no issue cutting through the fabric.

Shin length spun-plast boots are worn over the feet and are capped with plates of cortosis-woven durasteel over the top of the feet and the upper shins, leaving the ankles somewhat exposed. The spun-plast will turn the edge of a vibroblade, but not a lightsaber. The cortosis-woven durasteel is extremely resistant to lightsabers and would require prolonged contact to cut through.

Cortosis-woven durasteel plates fit just above the kneecaps, extending down to cover the top half of them, but leaving a large gap between shin plate and knee plate for mobility.

Elbow length gloves made from synthmesh and spun cortosis fiber are not only resistant to energy based weapons, but can also withstand extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. The knuckles are ridged with cortosis-woven durasteel caps. A punch from someone wearing these gloves can inflict brutal damage.

Thick, heavy plates of cortosis-woven durasteel fit over the upper chest and shoulders. While the midriff is exposed, the mobility bonus and the capabilities of the armorweave undersuit were deemed sufficient.

Lastly, the helmet is also fashioned from spun cortosis fibers and durasteel, but the V-shaped visor is fashioned from transparisteel. Around the visor is a raised ridge of electrum, for style of course.
