DESCRIPTION
Triarch Consolidated Holdings is, at least on paper, a private investment and corporate services group operating throughout the Core Worlds. It purchases distressed assets, invests in companies, arranges financing, and connects businesses with markets that would otherwise be difficult to reach.
Triarch is deliberately broad in what it does. It does not need to manufacture starships when it can invest in the shipyard, or own the mine when it can purchase a stake in whoever does. This has allowed the company to build an enormous web of business relationships without becoming directly responsible for most of what happens inside it.
That is the public company.
Underneath it exists what has become colloquially known as the Dark Consortium.
With the Sith Covenant under High Republic sanctions, Triarch uses shell companies, private exchanges, and intermediaries to connect businesses with Covenant markets while obscuring the relationship between them. Legitimate companies gain distance from the Sith, while criminals and less reputable corporations gain access to markets, resources and opportunities throughout Covenant territory.
Triarch openly accepts outside investment. Shareholders gain access to its wider network, while its largest and most consistent investors receive greater access to contracts, infrastructure and support. The largest investors are invited onto the steering committee and given a voice in where Triarch directs its resources next.
Ports, shipyards, mines, laboratories and industries throughout Covenant territory are treated as opportunities. Whether an investment rebuilds something, strips it for parts, or simply makes somebody very rich is largely irrelevant.
Triarch is there to make the deal.
RATIONALE
Triarch Consolidated Holdings was created after High Republic sanctions increasingly isolated the Sith Covenant from the wider galactic economy. The sanctions did not remove the demand for Covenant resources, markets and contracts, but made openly doing business with the Sith increasingly dangerous.
The Covenant responded by creating a layer between itself and those willing to do business with it. Triarch became that layer, using private ownership, intermediaries and obscured business relationships to provide companies with plausible distance from the Sith.
The system quickly grew beyond simple sanctions evasion. Criminal organizations, investors, manufacturers, mercenaries and executives began using the same network to move resources, arrange contracts and invest throughout Covenant territory.
That network became known as the Dark Consortium.
Officially, Triarch remains a private corporation governed by its shareholders and steering committee. In reality, the Sith Covenant that created it retains the final word whenever its own interests are involved.
