Trial and Error(Seeking Master and Training Partners)

Coruscant|Jedi Temple|Mid-Day

The training room was quite for the most part allowing Tyr-Kyr to immerse himself in meditation and clear his thoughts. Though he hid it well his mind was still reeling that day and he could find no solace within these hallowed halls. Tyr-Kyr took a deep breath and began clearing his mind and focusing on the task at hand. He hadn't been using Djem So long, therefore he had committed himself to train at every opportunity. Perhaps if he had been more skilled that business with the Dark-Jedi Redious would have turned out differently, however; he quickly shook those thoughts from his head knowing he shouldn't dwell on the past. The silent humming and low cast whistle of the training droid coming online killed Tyr-Kyr's ears and he knew it was time. Cloak removed and lightsaber in hand Tyr-Kyr stood to face his mechanical adversary.

The faint blue light and soft humming of Tyr-Kyr's lightsaber filled the training hall as he stared down the droid with his training saber in it's hand. Tyr-Kyr took in a slow deep breath the advanced on the droid grasping his lightsaber with two hands and swung down with as much as force as he could. Channeling the kinetic force behind his lightsaber strokes, Tyr-Kyr delivered an onslaught of powerful and precise blows against his opponent. Djem So was not an easy form to master, yet Tyr-Kyr was determined to continue until he did so. He knew where he was failing in his attempts, being a student of Makashi, Tyr-Kyr was more attuned to delivering precise and timed strikes than the powerful blows Djem So called for. His last strike once again failed, glancing off the droids saber and sliding to the side. "Still not strong enough...." Tyr-Kyr said while sighing. Turning off his lightsaber, Tyr-Kyr dismissed the droid and sat back down upon the ground.

It seemed like he still needed many more sessions such as this before he was able to truly grasp Djem So. He closed his eyes once again, allowing a veil of calmness fall over him. Tyr-Kyr let his mind fall blank and listened to the echoing sounds in the distant halls of the Jedi Temple.

An emerald blade blazed behind Magnus inches away from his head.

"You are correct. You are not strong enough because you say are not. You think too much and have no focus."

The man searched the padawan's thoughts and feelings briefly with the will of the Force. He sensed frustrations and wallowing of self pity.

"Get up."

His voice was firm and cold.

The humming of another's lightsaber hovered mere inches from the back of Tyr-Kyr's head. He did not know to who the voice belonged but Tyr-Kyr worried not, instead he simply rose and turned to face the stranger.

"You seem to know alot for one I have never before encountered. So tell me, who are you?" Tyr-Kyr now turned on his lightsaber and twirled it with a flourish as he took a step back from the man.

He flurried his blade from grip to grip with fluid expertise and grace.

"I have been here for quite awhile now, padawan. Every now and then I watch closely the progression of the students. When I believe I am required, I make myself known if necessary."

He side stepped and rose his saber over his head; pointing slightly outwards and behind his head into a Djem So attack stance.

"I see you use Djem So, then this should be interesting." Taking hold of his lightsaber with two hands and mimicking @[member="Darc Xavior Talus"] in his stance, Tyr-Kyr circled around slowly circling his opponent. Tyr-Kyr could feel this man was far more experienced than he, however; Tyr-Kyr would not shun an opportunity to learn under a master of Djem So regardless of his origin. "Then I welcome your help."

Then with a flash, Tyr-Kyr rushed in at the man bringing the lightsaber down upon him ink an attempt to strike him.

He watched as the padawan rushed forward with a downward strike. It was typical for an amateur on the first try. Darc simply side stepped and pivoted for a complete miss; anticipating that the padawan would eventually put all his body into the downward swing making him lose balance and rendering him vulnerable to his rear. He swiftly countered his attack within his pivot and butted the padawan behind the head with the hilt of the saber.

"Lesson one, never underestimate your opponent. Do not rush without knowing where you will be next. Especially when you have enough distance between the enemy."

He paced and turned to the padawan once more; spinning his saber back into a stance. This time the saber was held closer to his body with the grip to his hip and the blade pointed slightly forward. A standard defensive Djem So stance.

"Again."

Tyr-Kyr tried to calm himself as he recovered from his adversary's attack. Had he been using Makashi or even Soresu this spar would not be so one sided, however; learning Djem So was the next step in Tyr-Kyr's training and he would have to build upon what he already knew without relying it. Taking a deep breath and clearing his mind Tyr-Kyr spun back into position bringing the hilt of his lightsaber up near his face. Slowly he advanced on @[member="Darc Xavior Talus"], using more restraint than with his former attack attempt.

Once close Tyr-Kyr again flourished his lightsaber in a downward slashing motion, making sure to add enough strength to his attack while at the same time ensuring his footing was stable unlike before.

After giving the padawan a brief moment, he watched him come forward slowly and alert this time. The padawan flourished his saber and once again struck downward on the swordmaster. He guided his blade horizontally to quickly parry the strike and push the blade outwards to expose the padawan's midsection; countering with a side kick to the celiac plexus.

"Lesson two, don't be repetitive. A skilled combatant with a trained eye can easily notice and anticipate your next attack. Keep the enemy bewildered. Make every strike unique and random."

He flourished once and came back to his stance.

"Again."

The breath left Tyr-Kyr's body momentarily as he staggered back slightly. His patience was wearing thin, and his inner anger began to brew. Not at the man of course, but himself. Tyr-Kyr prided himself on his swordsmanship and among his peers he was one of the best. Now he was being toyed by this stranger like he was nothing. Wiping his face with his sleeve Tyr-Kyr once again advanced on the man, delivering a series of various strikes from above below and from the sides. He would not be repetitive again, calculating his attacks and watching the man's movements for an opening. He knew inside that allowing feeling to overcome logic was not the correct way to proceed, yet he could not stop himself or sudue his pride.

It had not been to long since Tyr-Kyr had fought Darth Redious. His thoughts wandered to that man and the same feeling of helplessness he felt then washed over him now.

As the padawan stormed forward, Darc could sense a spark of anger simmering within him. Although at first he found it intriguing he knew that if this continued the padawan only would become more reckless. Darc connected with every strike the padawan delivered until he clashed his lightsaber forward in a grind as sparks spouted about. He met eye level with the padawan and spoke.

"Lesson three, do not let your anger and pride cloud your judgement. Many have died because of irrational thinking. Though I do not condone the method when it comes to emotion, learn to regulate it instead. You have the right focus but do not allow your mind to take the best of you either. Learn control and patience when it comes to aggression. Never push unless you are confident to know you will succeed. Feel the flow of the Force, don't fight it. Use your instincts."

Darc Force aided his push to break away from the padawan, flourishing, and slanted back into an aggressive stance. His saber pointed straight forward at eye level.

"Again. This time regulate that emotion and focus those thoughts, but maintain peace of mind so that you don't become reckless."

Tyr-Kyr's feet slid backwards a way after his attack had been broken. He glared at the strange man standing before him, and though he took his words with a grain of salt, he knew he speak true. Tyr-Kyr calmed himself and brought himself back into stance, and bringing himself back to a physical and mental center. The man was right. Tyr-Kyr needed his anger to be successful in a fight, and now thinking back he had always been angry at his opponents even when just sparring. He shot a piercing glare towards the man once he was confident he had relieved the tension from his body.

"You are quite skilled in Djem So, but this time I will be ready."

Tyr-Kyr advanced, this time balancing his emotions and skill. He turned and struck in one direction but quickly retreated and advanced again striking fast and hard. He refused to use any style but Djem So as he did this knowing that would defeat the purpose of his training, instead he relied on his strength and agility. The man's words struck a chord within Tyr-Kyr. The anger was still present, but Tyr-Kyr was no longer afraid of it's presence.

The ancient master retracted as the padawan approached; keeping up with his sudden change of pace. He sensed the flow of anger and aggression within him, but also noticed his effort to maintain control without succumbing to making mistakes again. Every strike the padawan delivered was felt and his precision was slightly better. Darc eventually parried his last immense strike before clashing his saber and twirled his blade with the padawan's to disengage from the spar.

"Good. A slight improvement. Continue to practice to sharpen your skill in Djem So, padawan. The Force burns strong in you. I foresee you having a bright future in days to come. Perhaps even greater than any Jedi or Sith. I will be watching your progression very closely. For now, relax and meditate on what you have learned today. Staying calm and at peace in your mind will reserve your energy for the next time you decide to use it again."

He extinguished his emerald blade and levitated it back to the clip on his side.

"May the Force be with you always."

The master levitated his robes to his hands and gracefully donned them before leaving the training room.

Tyr-Kyr receded the blade of his lightsaber returned it to his hip. Bowing to his unlikely tutor as he turned to leave. "Wait, before you leave. What is your name?" Tyr-Kyr stared at the man with cold unrelenting eyes as he waited for his answer.

"Judas..." The word hung in the air long after the man had left. Tyr-Kyr was tired, yet he had much to think on before he retired from the hall just yet. He sat down upon the floor and closed his eyes, slowly clearing his mind of all thoughts. He had learned a decent amount from the strange man yet he still had a great deal to learn before he could advance in his training. Tyr-Kyr then wondered how he would proceed in the upcoming invasion, and if he'd be ready when the time comes.
