Description: Confederate naval doctrine dictates that fleets with carrier capabilities should be given operational flexibility to use their attack craft in a variety of ways, and thus picket corvettes could be used as attack craft. Thus the Trench-class, based on ancient plans of AT-AT barges (despite the CIS not using AT-ATs) and named after Admiral Trench, was born to fill that need. Due to the use of automation onboard, made possible by the ship-wide neural net, there is a need for only one crewmember for each group of weapons: 1 gunner is responsible for the turbolasers, 1 for the ordnance launchers and 1 for the quad lasers. The crew is broken down as follows: 1 pilot, 1 engineer, 3 gunners. To increase the armament and the to the standard of other picket corvettes in use, and also to accommodate more engines and a larger reactor, the passenger areas have been gutted, and the plating has been reduced in thickness. Due to the size of the Trench, it cannot be used on corvette-sized carriers.
