Trees that are stronger then steel... [Oka Osaa]

Nomad had landed with [member="Oka Osaa"] on Endor. He was there to try and improve his force power techniques. They entered a slight clearing. A stream was off to the side of where they were. The trees here were thicker then most others

Oka stood up out of the chair and opened to door of the transport ship. "There's nothing like the smell of a forest." he joked walking out. The air had been thin that morning and the Ewoks had been asleep still so they wouldn't bother them. He waited for Nomad to come out since they were here for him. He scanned the area just to be safe because Endor was usually an easy target.

Nomad emerged from the ship. "I prefer different smells but every one if different." he said walking next to Oka. "Can you shed a little more information on why we are here? all you said was something about training me in the for-" A bug had flown right into Nomad's mouth. He coughed a bit before he spat several times into the undergrowth. Nomad looked back up "Bug..." he said rather embarrassed.

Oka laughed in his head. He smelled all kinds of things on his journey. Hutts, smelly people, beasts, and most likely other things. "The reason why we're here is because trees are probably the hardest plant to break. Like a bone, like the sith. If I'm going to teach you in the force, you need to learn to have patience but also keep the force flowing consistently. If you can break the bottom of the tree, the toughest part, then you are ready for greater challenges.... let's start simple." he explained aiming at a thin but tall tree and break it with the force as it fell down. "Pick the fairly small log up." he said.

[member="Nomad Crimson"]

Nomad nodded.

He focused his energy and pointed his hand towards the fallen tree. Nothing happened. He raised his seconded hand and tried again. He focused even more. Nothing again. "I can't do it" He said after 20 minutes of trying. "The log is too heavy"

Oka rubbed his face with his hand as he began to speak. "The log is heavy, but so is the weight of death. Try again." Most likely, that wouldn't make sense but at least he'd know to try again. He could tell Nomad was trying but trying isn't doing.

Nomad took a deep breathe before he started to focus. He focused on the log, trying to lift it into the air. After a while the broken part of the log started to lift into the air. Nomad didn't stop he continued to reach out with the force.

One side of the log started lifting up. Was Oka pushing him to his limit? Most likely but what's training without pressure. He wanted to say good job or pat him on the back but that would interrupt his focus.

Nomad tried spitting his energy in two. one focusing on the end that was in the air. The other part was focusing on the other side. This failed, the log fell to the ground. Nomad sighed in frustration before trying again.

The broken part of the log lifted like before but kept falling every time Nomad tried lifting the other side.

Every time the log fell he got more annoyed.

The sight of the log falling each time was expected, but maybe they should start smaller. He walked into the ship and grabbed a lightsaber he used for his padawans. It was a real plasma, blade. Real lightsaber. "You know, they say these are physically weightless. Let's see if the force says that too." he said tossing the lightsaber to Nomad. "Just pick it up with the force. Try not to chop your arm off." he joked.

[member="Nomad Crimson"]

Nomad caught the lightsaber. The hilt had slight weight but it was fairly light. With the aid of the force the lightsaber started rising in the air.

Calming down he said "I can see why you find it easy to use the force on these weapons." Nomad kept changing the altitude of the hilt, trying to get his control correct. The hilt eventually lowered back into Nomad's hand.

"Easy my friend? Try the log again. Just breathe. The force is in you, whether its weak or not, the dark shall not rise." he said signaling him to give the saber back. The force is everything and everything is the force. The lightsaber isn't the real weapon, the force is. When one would realize that as Oka did when he was younger on Sharlon, they would grow strong in the force. Mastering or even growing proficient in the force wasn't easy, but it was possible.

Nomad threw the sabre back and looked to the fallen tree. He tried splitting his energy again. This time there was little success. Both sides lifted off the ground but only barely. Nomad tried moving from the edges to the centre. The tree fell again.

Once more he tried, the log floated into the air. Nomad had been trying to lift the log from the sides but this time he lifted from the centre.

The log didn't seem as heavy now. It wasn't anything ground breaking the log more hovered then floated.

Nomad looked like he wasn't struggling, that was good for now. Oka let out a force push to see how he would do. The outcome was expected to be him dropping it but maybe he'd surprise him. He didn't push hard with the force anyways but again, he's an initiate.

Much like a kid dropping a bouncy ball and then trying to catch it before it hit the floor Nomad was much the same. The log didn't have very far to fall. "What was that for!?" Nomad asked angrily.

"Getting angry isn't needed Nomad. That's how weak most people are. Letting emotions control you brings you to a weak state. Learn to be calm when I mess up your first successful force pushes, when someone brings you to your knees, and when your lover is killed. Sacrifice is the ultimate price of a Jedi. I expect it to be the same with a force user. Understand?" he asked as he signaled him to pick the log back up.

[member="Nomad Crimson"]

Nomad grunted and lifted the log again. It kept getting lighter and lighter. Rather then deal with the question he focused on the log. The log raised to shoulder level. Nomad was always good as adapting.

"Good Nomad. You seem to have dismissed your attitude quicker than expected. You may release the log if you want." he said. Oka understood teaching someone in the force would be difficult and take awhile but he felt his bond with Nomad would help. If this were a child from the shadows, it'd be different. He had been doing well for just the first day into training. Maybe... Nomad had a little in him previously?

[member="Nomad Crimson"]

"I have not dismissed my attitude, I have only stored it" Nomad said. The log remained in the air for a few moments longer before falling to the ground.

"Do not store that anger, once you're using the force in the fight, and you release the anger you could become vulnerable to the dark side." he explained to Nomad as he walked into the ship and grabbed two cups and filled them with water. ”Nomad, you've done good. Most students can only lift cups for only a few seconds. That was a small log but still heavier than a small object. Here." he said offering the cup of water.
