Treats and sweets

Coruscant; Lower Sector

Coruscant was an awesome planet to be on, especially when one knew every nook and cranny of it. And Scarlet? She just happened to know every nook and cranny.

"WEEEEE!" The young girl squealed in laughter as she soared above the rooftops, using the blasts in her scythe to keep her in the air. Had she been in the more up-line part of town, it was almost guaranteed for someone to call security for disturbing the peace or something like that. However down in the more sensible parts, she was loved. People enjoyed watching her, albeit under her guise of the Red Rose, and often cheered whenever she did some sort of cool trick. And of course, the fact that she helped to keep the streets clean of crooks might have also helped. Landing finally with a thud, the young girl looked upon a row of apartments from her current perch on top of a twelve-story building, owned by a business that sold her favorite treat in the world: jelly doughnuts. Looking down below at the entrance, she wondered if they were open...

The academy on Coruscant was a fine one. One of many that she was slotted to study in. She was to start here, then move on to the political academy on Bakura, and then join the legislative youth program on Naboo... She would be spending more time in school than most adults ever would. It was a hard life ahead of her, full of duty. But it was what she wanted.
No. It was what Mother wanted, but Felicity was happy enough doing what it took to make her mother pay attention to her. This was in her blood, after all. She would be a ruler someday, just like her Mother. Or at the very least, a Viceroy in the Confederacy. Life would be interesting, she was certain, as soon as her schooling was done, but until then...

"I'm bored," the child complained out loud to her private dormroom. Empty. Nobody was ever around. Mother had taken great pains to ensure she would have a private study space, free of distractions. And free of friends and entertainment. The only contact she had outside of school hours were with her personal body guards. She had two and they would switch shifts throughout the day, taking turns to watch her door at night. Force forbid the little Countess step out of her room for a moment. She might meet a similarly minded child her age and forget to study for a full thirty seconds!

She turned her data pad off and looked outside her window, face resting on her palm. It had been like this when she lived with Father on Imerria as well. The planet being too dangerous and windy for her to be allowed out for very long. But at least then she had her family to keep her company. She had Uncle Barny and Slevy and Daddy. Even her baby sister would be better company than two stuffy guards.

Something leapt across the roof tops. The Child rubbed her eyes, thinking that hours of staring at a datapad was making her see things. There it was again. She could see it even clearer this time. Below. Someone... small? Not a grown up, was it? A kid too?

What would Daddy do?
Felicity glanced at her door, bit her lip and in a split second made her decision. She knew exactly what Daddy would do. She turned her datapad back on and plugged it into the wall. If she could get the locks on the window to turn off... She was her mothers daughter, after all. Mother was doing this when she was half her age! If she could do it, Felicity could too.
Her datapad beeped and the lock released. The girl smiled and set it aside, then climbed up on the table and forced the window open. She was going out tonight. She was going to go out and make a new friend.

...One thing the little genius didn't think about was the height and her severe fear of it. Before she knew it, she was clutching the side of her window, feet dangling. This was a bad idea. This was a very, very, very bad idea.
What would Mother do?

Only one thing, really.

Felicity screamed for her life.

Scarlet's wondering was cut short by the sound of shrill screaming coming from somewhere below, just outside a neighboring building. Jumping down a little to investigate, she quickly found the source, and clamped a hand over her mouth. It was a small child, gripping to the windowsill for dear life. She had to act. Pulling her hood over her face, she leapt-quite literally- down into action. The cool wind rushed through her hair and ears, leaving a calming sensation over her seconds before she unfurled her scythe, and fired off a round downward. The force of the blow slowed her down just enough so she could easily grab the little girl in one of her hands, keeping her scythe in the other. "Gotcha!", came her light, squeaky voice. As soon as the little one was in her grasp, she fired off another round sideways at the building, launching both girls into the rooftop of a single-story building. Collapsing on the roof, Scarlet made sure the girl landed on her, so as to cushion the fall. Once she had caught her breath once more, she asked, "Are you okay?"

It all happened faster than the child could think. She remembered the guard outside her door bursting in, just as her grip slipped on the window sil. She remembered a flash of something dark. She remembered falling and... stopping.

Slowly, she opened her eyes, realizing what had stopped her fall. The little Countess was gripping onto a girl, shuddering like a leaf. It took her a long while to get a grip on herself, but at last her Mothers teaching caught up with her. She quickly untangled herself from her rescuer and dipped into a hurried curtsey.

"You have my eternal gratitude for saving me. My name is Felicity Melodia Mason, Daughter of Archon Feenarah Mason of the Confederacy of Independent Systems," -She had gotten so used to introducing herself this way, using her mothers full title. It was exhausting.- "Anything you want as a reward will be yours. Just name it."

That was true enough. She was the soul heir to her uncles entire fortune, and with her Mothers political sway, she could secure almost anything for the one to save her life.

Woah. Had Scarlet jut saved a princess? She wasn't sure, but that's deinitely what it seemed like by the way the girl had introduced herself. Keeping her hood over her face, she chuckled lightly and shook her head. "Oh thank you dear... but I don't need anything, really. I'm just glad you're safe is all. Where is your mother anyway? You said she was the Archon of some confederacy? Sounds important!"

Felicity shut her mouth quickly. How could she not know about the confederacy? They owned nearly a fourth of the Galaxy. Felicity was confused by this strange place. She still was not yet sure how the Republic viewed her people, or if they even knew who her Mother was. She never ran into this back on Bakura. They all knew the Archon there.

"Mother is back home in confederacy space. She's an important lady. Like a Queen."

If she were a little older, she might realize how foolish she was being talking about how important her family is. She had already experienced kidnapping once, and it was almost certain that it would not be the last time.

Scarlet nodded, understanding."Ah, I see. Saving someone with this mic influence would probably bring her a lot of fame... and maybe even give her a chance to get out more. However, she wouldn't use that as an advantage. While she thought of this, she also figured there was no real reason to be hiding her face from a child. Pulling back her hood, she revealed te face of a nineteen year old, with dark hair and red streaks. Looking down at the little one, she crouched so that she was eye to eye. "Hey, you want a jelly doughnut?"

Felicity got excited at the word 'Jelly doughnut'. She'd never had one before! It sounded so yummy. She'd only imagined what it could possibly taste like. She opened her mouth to say 'yes please!' but closed it again quickly, shaking her head. She'd already been a bad girl, leaving her room.

"Mommy doesn't like me to have sweets..."

Scarlet frowned softly at the girl. She could tell from her face that she really wanted some. "What your mommy doesn't know won't hurt her. Come on Felicity, let's go get us some doughnuts." Reaching out her hand, she smiled softly. The little girl was just so cute, she couldn't turn her away.

What your mommy doesn't know won't hurt her.

Felicity nearly gasped when she heard this. She had never once thought if it that way! But she knew she would feel bad about it later... But that was later, and this was now, and Felicity could feel her tummy grumble.

"Okay!"
A little white gloved hand reached out to grasp the hand of the older girl.

Chuckling with a small smile, Scarlet held up a finger and ran off. Five minutes later, she would come back in normal clothes and a backpack. Though she had let the younger girl see her true identity, she couldn't do the same for the entirety of Coruscant. Holding a finger to her lips, she siled again. "This will be our little secret, okay? Now hold on Felicity!" Chuckling, she held he girl closer to her before rocketing to the ground with the aid of her scythe. Once they were on level ground, she folded up her scythe and stashed it in her bag. Reaching for the smaller girl's hand then, she waited.
