DESCRIPTION
The METU (Muti-Environment Traversal Unit), or Traveler, is the third droid body armor built for Ultimatum's use in the field. Unlike the previous body, this one has little combat effectiveness beyond protection. The primary purpose it to give Ultimatum a quick way to travel across most terrain types, without relying on outside assistance such as aircraft. The body is built with an outer hull of Duranium that has been specially treated to absorb shock so that it can fall far greater distances without damage, compared to standard armor. This also grants it a natural resistance to kinetic firearms. Duranium's very nature grants it a particular strength against both blaster fire and lightsabers. In order to combat the all too obvious weakness of ionic weapons, the suit, like most of Ultimatum's designs, has a built-in skeleton of highly conductive metal which protects the more sensitive equipment from being electrocuted by allowing the electricity to flow along the frame to a ground, wherever the body may be touching a ground.

The Traveler is capable of covering most terrains with relative ease. It has the ability to jump fairly high, the distance and height can be further extended by an inbuilt jetpack. This jetpack has a limited capacity and allows little more than a hover. The base running speed of the droid is about twice as fast as the average running speed of a human; however, this speed does sag in softer terrain, such as marshes, bogs, and mossy plains. Each wrist has a mounted grapple hook capable of being fired about 30 meters. The grapples are capable of connecting magnetically, or in the puncture hook method, as needed. The armor does not give much physical strength and is therefore next to useless in a melee fight.

As with previous bodies designed by Ultimatum, the Traveler has a droid brain that allows it to act on its own in a limited capacity while Ultimatum is not inside.
