| OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION |

 • Intent: To create something as durable as matrix armor that is transparent and meant for use on-board starships, in the construction of buildings, and even in the use of, say, touchscreens or visors. Basically, glasteel’s more durable cousin.
 • Image Source: It’s transparent and matte. Just imagine running into something dozens of times more durable than the glass used in IRL houses because you couldn’t see it.
 • Restricted Missions: If necessary
 • Primary Source: Crystasteel | Glasteel | Transparisteel
| PRODUCTION INFORMATION |
 • Model: CMAT-TS-CT-1 (Construction Material, Transparent Substance, Crystalline Technology, Model 1), Transparicrystal
 • Manufacturer: Aster Spaceworks [designer & manufacturer), via its own facilities, and the Metal Lords
 • Production: Limited (Metal Lords, Free World Coalition); selling to others through contract or however else requires a dev thread and/or the opening up of new production facilities in one of the locations of the potential customer
 • Affiliation: The Metal Lords, Free World Coalition [please tell me if you’re using it, though; I need to keep track of this] | Closed-Market | Open to contracting [approval and rejection of contracts is completely under the control of Aster Spaceworks]
 • Modularity: N/A
 • Material: Crystalline materials
| PHYSICAL INFORMATION |

 • Classification: Crystal
 • Weight: High
 • Resistances:
 • - Blasters (And other plasma type weapons): High
 • - Kinetic: High

 • Color: Transparent

| SPECIAL FEATURES |

 • Crystalline - Transparicrystal is a crystalline material arranged in sheets of “glass” that is the more durable cousin of materials like glasteel. Because of the arrangement and reinforcement, transparicrystal is as durable as matrix armor, just how glasteel is as durable as durasteel.
 • Matte - Though a gloss coating can be arranged for, transparicrystal is given a matte, hydrophobic, oleophobic coating.

| WEAKNESSES |

 • Weight - Transparicrystal is approximately three times heavier than equal amounts of competing materials.
 • Manufacturing - Transparicrystal is more difficult to produce than glasteel. It requires two manufacturing runs to make the same amount of material that you would get in one manufacturing run with glasteel, or twice the plant size/output to create as much transparicrystal as what half that could make in glasteel. It requires a dev thread to sell to/be used by customers other than the Free World Coalition and the Metal Lords.
| DESCRIPTION |

The material sciences branch within R&D at Aster Spaceworks may be small, but it is a beauty to behold when it comes to creating things such as transparicrystal. Originally designed to be used as a stronger alternative to glasteel for the quality-over-quantity designs of Mon Calamari Spaceworks, it is now known to have purposes beyond that. As a result, manufacturing had to be scaled to keep up with demand. Now transparicrystal is used in construction, visors, touch screens, high-end diningware, high-end dura-art (art designed with durability in mind), and in similar uses. It is as durable as matrix armor, though is somewhat heavier than its competitors. Though expensive and extremely difficult to produce when compared to transpariglass, glasteel, and similar things, transparicrystal is one of the best transparent materials on the market.

Production: Mass production

Expensive - Transparicrystal is more expensive than glasteel because of the manufacturing process.

 • A submission cannot be considered expensive and difficult to produce as a weakness if it is also rated as Mass Produced. If you wish for these to be considered as weaknesses you will need to drop the production to no higher than Limited.

Weight - While not necessarily extremely heavy, transparicrystal is not as lightweight as its competitors.
 • This is not a weakness sufficient enough to be considered for judging, based on the wording.

Edited. Raised the weight to heavy, removed the expense and manufacturing problem, and linked Aster Spaceworks.

Alright. In order to balance this material there are going to need to be adjustments made. Three High ratings with a single weakness of weight at Mass Production is too much. If you want to keep Mass Production with the single weakness you're going to need to drop all of the ratings except for one below High. For every rating listed as High, you'll need to drop production 1 level and/or provide a substantial, balanced weakness.

I lowered it to limited, and re-added the manufacturing weakness with the addition of requiring dev threads to sell past certain people, and I have also added the Free World Coalition to affiliation.
