Faction Training Day. [Open to Faction members - JA/FWO]

Beltor "Bell" Cyrus, PHD

Dantoonie Temple.

Personal quarters.

The hard edged tones and notes of Sugan Essena blared over the speakers, Bell was in his own mental state, his own sort of flow state only achieved by those taught by a master of the craft. Echanni Martial arts are often simply seen as a high level combat skill by those looking in. To the Echanni themselves, like his mother, they were equal parts mode of conversation and meditation.

He could have been meditating in the Jedi fashion, sitting still and finding inner contemplation, and while he had practiced before, it never had the same effect as letting his actions carry his emotions. The punching back rebounded off its tether with enough force to send it crashing in to him, and he moved with an instinctual grace. He rolled with the force, never letting its momentum over coming his as he rebounded off his back heel, slamming the other in to the side of the bag and sending it careening back in the opposite reaction.

It went on like this, operating at high tempo that, combined with his blossoming ability to read things in the force, would seem almost too fast. The bag came back around, and he sprang forward, and checked it with his leg. The spring of pain in his shin told him his form was on point, and he carried the blow through, sending the bag back along its wild arc...

The choice to let him have his own room was seen as a bit...favored, by some of the younger students, but it was explained to all that Beltor was a grown man, and initiate or not, it was improper to have a grown man sharing living space with teenagers, and thus he got a likely nominally nicer room with a window that overlooked the second story of the temple, and a view of the near by hills. On the table near his bed sat his saber, both Reverence and the still not completed shoto Braze had supplied the parts for. The rough cut Corsica gem sitting next to it and casting bright spirals of light on the table and near by wall. Next to it lay one of his other projects. The A-280 was unfinished and half built, an off assortment of after market parts and items lay next to it.

He planned on making a better rifle for the time being, as he knew well the value of a good rifle, but awaited upon a few parts before the weapon was ready for testing and field use.

It had been centuries since she'd been to Dantoonie. Once upon a time, it had been one of Tenacity Cell's rebel bases, an outpost for the Rebel Alliance to monitor local Imperial activity.

Hearing there was a new padawan to train here was interesting.

As she entered the temple, she smirked. None of her old gear was still there, but still she knew the halls well.

Poking around the corner, the cathar smirked as she saw the man boxing the bag.

"So you're the newbie Braze tells me about, eh?"

"So you're the newbie Braze tells me about, eh?"

The words almost didn't make it to his ears between the music and his own deep state of focus. His head snapped to the source of the sound and found a...was that a Kathar?

His focus shifted, and his stance leveled out in to something stable. He raised a brow and opened his mouth to say something when the flash of grey to his side caught his attention and he put his hands up to catch the careening bag again...only for the bag to never land. It hung there, suspended in the air only a few inches from his hands.

He tilted his head and looked down at his hands, a mild look of disbelief on his face. "Oh so now it want's to bloody work." There wasn't any real anger in his voice, just mild frustration. He sighed and relaxed, the bag slumping to hang on its tether, and turned to the Kathar women.

"Forgive me, I am still...getting used to a lot of this." He reached for a near by towel and used it to wipe off the collection of sweat on his brow, only realizing he may be a bit under dressed in his tank top, shorts, and tapped up hands and feet compared to her...well, everything.

He went for his water bottle and took a swig, offering her his hand. "Beltor Cyrus, friends call me Bell."

Braze wanted to come check and see how their new guest was settling in. Then he saw @jonyna. " Hey Jonyna...how how's the family doing?" He asked lightly. It'd been some time since he'd seen Jonyna. He was carrying a basket of fresh clean toweled bath sheets and wash clothes all neatly folded as well as some other welcome things to help house warm his room. " Hey Bells... I got you a few nice Jedi Robes, Cloak, Thermal Body Glove, Saberbreaker Gauntlets, and a Utility Belt and even a Adapt Saber Mod Kit. Maybe something will be of use for you. " He glanced between Bells and Jonyna.. and then back... he a fixed his jaw in a light grit to avoid allowing a grin to form on his features. " Treating the new recruit well then auntie~?"

"Jonyna Si. Jedi Master, and Rebellion Extraordinaire." Jonyna offered with a slight bow, her showmanship seeping through from her old days. She couldn't help it. "I take it you're Braze's new padawan then? You look twice his age."

As Braze entered, she raised an eyebrow in a coy smirk. "Kids are doing fine. How 'bout you? You doing alright?"

Jonyna paused, smirking. "I just walked in. You think I'm hassling your new paddie already?"

He bowed to the older women, deeper then her bow, as per custom typically demanded. As he rose though, he tilted her head. Turning to Braze, he nodded, clasping his hands together in thanks to the younger man as he set down the set of robes. They didn't look like typical Jedi Robes, but looked expertly tailored.

Braze cast a sly smile at the two them and made for the door.

Bell, meanwhile, stepped over to the table and set the table and water bottle down. Leaning back, he spoke. "I am indeed his new Padiwan, though I'm not quite that old." She how ever...

for the first time in a long while Bell felt a faint blush coming across his features. She was pretty, damn pretty. He didn't even know he could have a thing for Kathari, but still. "So uh..." He rubbed the back of his neck. Why the hell was he this bashfull?

He met her eyes again and held them this time. His analytical mind kicked in and he started to read her, really read her. The tempered swagger, the slight dip in shoulders, the twitch of an ear as she attempted to stare him down with a wolfish smile on her face.

He tilted his head again, a measure of confidence returning. "Forgive me, madam Jedi, but just how old are you? I beg the pardon for the forwardness." There was no ill intent in his tone, simple genuine curiosity.

Jonyna squinted with a coy look. "Ya know, it's not polite to ask a woman her age. But, you're right. I'm currently the prime age of 935. Still young, still pretty. Cryofreeze is great for the skin, not so good for the mind. Why?"

Jonyna wasn't an echani, but she knew how to read people, and she could see that blush a mile away.

He was cute, at least. She wondered if he even saw Braze as a master, or more of a jedi mentor. They didn't have many people left to train newbies now.

His eyes widened a bit, his brows raising as he processed what she just said. "935...years..." His pupils when wide, and an excited smile broke out. "On my stars your a primary source for the Clone wars and Rise of Palpatine's Empire!" He said that a bit louder then he meant to, but any intention of playing it cool was blown out of the water.

He turned to the table and snatched up his data pad. Turning back to her he continued. "I'm sorry, I didn't really introduce my self properly." He held out his hand for her to shake. "Dr. Beltor Cyrus, PHD, out of Anaxes naval college with post graduate studies out of Cardia and Corellia. My thesis paper was on that period of time and the rise of Darth Sidious, you have no idea how rare it is to have even secondary or tertiary sources on that time period."

He seemed to catch him self mid tangent. The blush grew deeper, and he took a step back after she shook his hand. "I'm...sorry, I can get excited when research opportunities pop up."

"Good to hear your kittens are doing fine... uh... I have been seeing a therapist named Tannor Grene Tannor Grene ... but I'm not so sure how I feel about that so far... " He didn't worry enough to tell her about what happened on the mountain side with Ko Vuto Ko Vuto . He glanced between her and Bells for a moment or three watching them and listening to them talk...

"Oh I see... I seeeeeee... It looks like perhaps I should let you settle in....Let me know if you need anything Bells. " He looked back at Jonyna Si Jonyna Si and a coy knowing smile showed up on his features, "Well you two have fun~" He chirped and winked at Jonyna.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, sure." Jonyna couldn't help but laugh. "You wanna see a first gen X-wing? I got one back at my base if you wanna poke around it. It's a shame you didn't see me a few years ago, I had a whole pristine rebel base as it was back then."

It was nice to meet someone she could talk to things about, in her own way. She knew better than to flirt too hard, but she also couldn't help herself. It was in her nature.

As Braze exited, she noted his mention of getting a therapist. Maybe she should get one of those...

He blinked. "A...first gen X-wing. As in an Incom T-65A. Oh stars yes I'd love to." He tapped his data pad a few times, and pulled up a pair of chairs for the both of them. He was, to use a single word, enraptured by the Kathari before him. Mostly in a bloom of academic further, and in a much smaller way, something differently.

"I had the chance to purchase a well used T-85 some years back, but I only had enough to purchase one ship and had to get something I could live off of. That's how I came across the Jade Finch, that old Dynamic light freighter sitting out in the landing yard." He took a breath and steadied him self. "Ok, ok. We can talk ships later, I've got to strike this iron while it's hot. If you are willing, I've love to record this, audio only, obviously, and get a type of opening statement from you. Who you are, where you're from, how you came to be suspended in stasis for that long, the things you saw. All of it."

He took another breath, his fervor starting to stall a bit. "That's...if you're willing to. I'm sorry I'm getting ahead of my self."

"Oh, go ahead. It's not often people ask me about my history." Jonyna chuckled, "Hit me. I'm an open book."

Jonyna took a moment to lean against the wall, looking at her nails. She was curious where this was gonna go.
"Right, right."

He tapped the data pad a few times, and clicked record. "This is Dr. Cyrus, research log No.4320-Bek. I am here with one Jonyna Si who has agreed to answer questions in relation to her youth recorded to be around the time of the rise of Emperor Palpatine and the Great Jedi Purge at the end of the Clone Wars circa roughly 22BBY."

He leaned in, speaking lowly. "Just to start, state your name and where and when you were born. Just...talk about your self for a bit, is all."
