The Maw

The Ablution floated through space within the cluster of black holes known as the Maw. It was the perfect place for illicit business to take place. Obsolete Imperial weapons were going to be transferred to the use of opposition forces fighting against the Republic Remnant, a group of do-gooders assumedly left over from the Republic that had fallen at the hands of the One Sith.

Vanessa was waiting in the hangar for the arrival of her contact.

Icarn had all the means he needed to amass a small arsenal to suit his needs. His employers would provide for any expenses, so long as he brought forth results. As of this moment, he'd yet to fail. So here he was, en route to the Maw, with enough resources to get the weapons he had had his eye on.

"Are you the contact?" He asked, approaching the woman, his hands lazily tucked in pockets.

"That would be me." Vanessa said, motioning to the crates sitting in a corner of the hangar bay. "Expired Imperial munitions. Not fit for the Stormtrooper corps, but certainly fit for a group of rogue brigands looking to engage the Republic Remnant. You can always use the cover of having stolen them from a dismantling depot." She smiled. "I trust that the payment we secured is fair?"

She certainly hoped so.

"Right." Meandering toward the crates, he took his time observing the merchandise. He didn't have a clue what separated legitimate resources from a scam, at least not right off the bat, but he could at least pretend. Sometimes making a show of scrutinizing was enough to trick some into confessing.

The movement of a couple fingers beckoned a droid to approach. With it, the agreed sum. "You'll find your payment here. I trust you understand doublecrossing us just about guarantees we'll be sending someone to collect what's owed." This wasn't his first exchange. He severely doubted it was hers, either.

"Of course. And I know you are a respectable enough bunch of brigands to know what will happen if you ever attempt to turn these weapons against the Sith Empire." She smiled matter-of-factly, deliberately staying calm, cool, and collected in her response to the man's words. "My attendants will assist in loading the arms aboard your vessel."

The weapons here would serve a splendid use.

"Brigands, huh?" A thin brow rose at the term. He wasn't quite sure that term fit his employers exactly, their design being a little more grand than petty thievery. And as fun as going against the Sith Empire sounded, Icarn doubted they'd be making any official moves against the juggernaut of an Empire. "If we ever turn against the Empire, believe me, you wouldn't know."

"The ship's over there," he said, gesturing in its general direction, turning to head for it himself.

The workers loaded multiple hoversleds of obsolete Imperial munitions onto his craft. Vanessa watched as the last bits of ordnance were loaded onboard. "Alright... We're all set." The workers backed off, allowing Icarn to begin flight procedures and return to his employers. Vanessa was glad to be rid of the outdated ordnance - it had been in her possession for far too long, and some of it dated back decades to the original Sith Empire, but now she could replace her ground troops' ordnance with much more impressive weaponry.

The kind of weaponry that would terrorize the Galactic Alliance and their Silver allies.
