Towering Pyramids

Neferisa sat upon the throne. Once, another had been seated upon here. Once. They had passed since. She thought over on this and all that had happened in recent days. Much had been lost, much was left to gain. The loss of her brother, their kingdom falling to what it had become now. The Ancient Eye dispersing to a near whisper in the galaxy. As she sat upon the throne, her throne, Neferisa waited. She had called upon one of her closest friends.

Neferisa knew not where her old friend [member="Hathera"] had gone this day. Perhaps doing her work, or off somewhere. Or...maybe even drinking off somewhere. Neferisa knew now.

"I swear, if she is off drinking with some others somewhere..." she groaned to herself. She was still young, even as the new leader of Ankhypt. "I hope she brings me something to drink with her." At saying that, she smirks slightly to herself.

Jingles could be heard rather clearly as Hathera made her way down the great hall towards the throne of her best of friends, the gold bands and jewels clinking against each other lightly as her agile steps carried the young Anubian. With Neferisa now becoming Lady Pharaoh Hathera had decided to drink a little less than the excess she would typically take it to. Her wits needed to be about her more than the lower level she'd become accustomed to.

Her rather large, round hips swayed with the young Anubian made her way toward the throne. Within one paw she held a jug partially filled with the wine she'd shared with a few of the other nobility that were no doubt now scattered throughout. The other paw holding a wine glass.

She'd stop once before [member="Neferisa"] and bowed her head while raising the glass, "Lady Pharaoh. I apologize for arriving late. I thought you may be thirsty."

Neferisa waited till she heard a jingle. No doubt one of her priests with incense on chains, but she smelt nothing. It was not till she caught a familiar smell that she knew who it was. And grinned to herself. She was most correct with her assumption, putting one of her hands underneath her jaw with the elbow against the armrest of the throne. Her other hand tapping at the other armrest, as if waiting for quite some time. Even though she had not.

"Hathera, dear friend..." she paused for a moment. She would have to get used to her own new title. Lady Pharaoh. And then she let out a heartily chuckle at the assumption made by Hathera. "I won't turn down a drink. Come" Neferisa gestured to a small seat that had been placed there by servants while she had been waiting, beside the throne.

"Tell me, do you know why I have called upon you dear friend? My most trusted ally, and vizier?" Neferisa asked to Hathera, moving the hand under her jaw as her bracelets clinked to one another. Her many earrings ringing as she moved her head upright.

As Hathera's emerald gaze caught her friends she couldn't help but chuckle as well. Bowing down and using such titles was not something she was accustomed to either. She remembered the two of them almost mocking Nef's brother and his disciples often before all the events had taken place and when they were much younger pups.

"I figured you wouldn't. What can I do for you, [member="Neferisa"] ?" Hathera's head would perk and an ear would twitch in curiosity. The movements causing her earrings to hit the gold chains adorning her long black hair.

The jug moving to pour the liquid courage into the glass for her Lady before lifting it towards the throne. "You look like much is on your mind, Lady Pharaoh."

Neferisa took the question as a chance for a long moment of pause, to think it over. What she needed...what she needed was advice. How to go about her role in all of this. She looked forward across the main hall of the throne room. "My brother, the pharaoh passed. This you know...I wish I knew of how his passing had come. Why I have called upon you however, is for advice" she began, turning back to her old friend.

"I need help for this. I cannot do this alone, for I am young. And some may even say, hotheaded." She let out a low growl at that. Many saw her as too prideful, too headstrong. Seeing her pride and riches above all, which Neferisa did.

Her clawed fingers continued to tap at the armrest casually. What was she to do? "Perhaps they are right." Neferisa sighed. "Perhaps I am very headstrong...but I do not see this as weakness, despite all others say. I must remain strong, and I only see you capable of helping" she finished with that, then took the glass.

The female Anubian would stay quiet while her best friend spoke. Neferisa was correct in this all came about fairly quickly and the mount of pride the female had did, indeed, make her stubborn. It was the same way Hathera was though since takin g a shine to wine and dancing a little more this young jackal had found a way to circumvent some of her own pride.

"Lady Pharaoh you forget that you are, indeed, hotheaded and have been for as long as I have known you. What the others forget is they, too, are busy with their muzzles up in the air as well. It is not doubt they have but jealousy. Don't think on this too much."

Hathera would pause to grab a glass one of the human servants had brought her, nodding for a moment before pouring herself a glass.

"Being headstrong is no weakness and the gifts our Gods have bestowed upon you is great. They would not have given such things if they thought you unworthy or unable to handle it. I will help calm the heat that burns under all that fur of yours, my friend. Of that you can be sure."

Her tail would swish slightly and she'd offer the Lady Pharaoh a toothy grin while lifting her glass a little, her claws tapping at the delicate designs that'd been etched along the side.

[member="Neferisa"]

Neferisa smirked at this, her jaws splitting into a toothy grin. Yes, jealousy. Of her inherited power, and her riches that she hoarded in her vaults and on her person. Those that spoke of her in such as way had much to look forward to, if they spoke of her in such a way again. Lady Pharaoh would make sure that they got what they deserved; a curved blade to the neck. "Outsiders have yet to speak of me in such a manner...or so I know. Only servants who murmur such insults and nobles who dare look upon me as if they are higher than I." As she spoke those last words, a hand went to her chest and her head held high and stiff.

"Oh yes, thought me very unworthy. But I am of a tactical mind. The Ancient Eye taught me much" Neferisa began, standing from her throne now to begin going on a stroll. "I trust you...that newcomer however, that pale Anubian...what was his name? Sal...Sal...something. Something is off about him. However the name was familiar."
