DESCRIPTION The Torrent-class Heavy Torpedo was a very large self-propelled warhead designed by the Chiss engineers at Imperial Forge Works. These large torpedos were built out of Allusteel casings and equipped with shield projectors to protect the warhead during travel. These projectiles are limited to assault grade warhead launchers and heavy torpedo launch tubes.

The Torrent-class heavy torpedo is designed to have limited penetration and power opting to spread the high explosive proton damage over a larger area of impact. The torpedo uses a large warhead which upon impact releases a wide cone of protons which upon contact with matter creates a chain reaction resulting in protons being created rapidly and expanding fueling the wide-area effect explosion. The warheads are a low yield explosive designed to damage soft targets and unshielded targets. The warheads have very little effect on shielding only effecting if used in extremely high numbers.
