    • Having inherited the mantle of Master upon his teacher's death, Torin now begins the long journeys of navigating what it means to hold such a privileged title.

    ORIGINS

Torin Emberlain's story begins not in the halls of a Jedi Temple, but in the shadow of stars — on a quiet world with no name, deep in the Outer Rim.

His mother, a Vahla woman named Kaelira, was a fugitive. Once hunted by the fanatical cult known as the Ember of Vahl, she had rejected their path of fire and domination, fleeing across space with nothing but her instincts and the Force to guide her. Her flame was not a weapon; it was a soul she refused to surrender.

His father, a quiet Epicanthix spacer named Davin, was a man of few words and fewer illusions. A giant of a man, former soldier turned wanderer, he took Kaelira in when she was desperate and on the run. Their connection was brief but deep — two embers drawn together in the cold.

From their union, Torin was born.

Even as an infant, the Force stirred around him like heat rising from stone. Kaelira felt it in her bones. Davin saw it in the way shadows bent near him. And the cult that hunted her would eventually sense it too. Before Torin was a year old, danger was already reaching for him.

But the Force, too, was watching.

Across the stars, a Jedi known only as Master Elinar dreamed of a child held between flame and stone — a child whose path would determine whether fire consumed or warmed. Following nothing but that dream and the soft pull of instinct, Elinar found them. There were no battles, no great speech. Only a quiet exchange beneath a canopy of stars. His mother placed a simple wooden pendant around Torin's neck — scorched with a flame and an etched triangle — and kissed his forehead once.

And with that, Elinar took him in.

    PADAWANSHIP

Torin was not raised in a temple. He grew up in forests. In rain. In silence.

Master Elinar never took another Padawan. His tradition — older than the High Council and separate from it — believed in taking only one apprentice in a lifetime, and training them not just to be Jedi, but to inherit everything, a philosophy passed down by his own Master, and her Master before her, again and avian stretching back centuries. The lessons were never spoken plainly. Elinar taught through stillness, observation, trial, and quiet faith.

They traveled across many systems, but always returned to the same kind of world: overgrown, wild, and alive. Torin learned to listen to leaves before he learned to swing a blade. He learned to climb before he could truly speak.

Selvaris. New Cov. Felucia. Jomark. Verdant worlds where the Force pulsed through root and stream. His master taught him how to shape fire without destroying, how to meditate not to empty himself, but to feel every living thing around him, to carry them. They slept under stars, spoke to animals, healed broken creatures, and lived by what the Force provided. They also faced beasts, corruption, and moments where violence became necessary — but Master Elinar taught him to remember every life taken.

    TRIALS AND KNIGHTHOOD

In Master Elinar's lineage, a Padawan's knighthood did not come from battle. It came from a ritual of transformation — the crafting of a talisman shaped through vision, instinct, and a trial of survival and surrender. Torin's came at age twenty-one. He was sent alone into the deep jungle — the name of the world never spoken. There, he encountered the beast from his dreams: a garu-bear, ancient and massive, territorial and scarred. But the trial was not to slay it. It was to live with it. To be near it. To be known by it.

Torin spent a full year in the wild, learning the rhythms of the beast, surviving near it, eventually sitting beside it in meditation. When the bear let him lay his head against its flank, he knew. The Force had chosen. His soulform was the bear, and his ring would be forged in that knowing. He returned, scarred across the left eye, quiet and changed. Elinar wept for the first time — not because Torin had survived. But because he now carried weight. The ring on Torin's hand pulsed with quiet purpose.

    MASTERY

Master Elinar passed some years later, returning to the Force as his lineage demanded. Within the lineage, when a master dies, the student — now heir — must perform a final rite: They must burn their master's soul-ring, the talisman of transformation forged during their own trial, once worn through every lesson passed down. It is an act of grief and reverence. Not erasure — but release.

Torin did so with fire and silence. Now a Jedi Master of his unique tradition, Torin Emberlain wanders still — no temple to bind him, no council to steer him. Only his instincts, his power, and his unshakable sense of stewardship. Some say he's more guardian spirit than Jedi. Others speak of the green line across his brow — the mark of his lineage.

Where he walks, the air feels calmer. The beasts are still. And sometimes — when you look at him just long enough — you see a great bear moving behind his eyes.

  • STRENGTHS

    Elemental Presence

Torin’s Force signature is deeply rooted in nature. Around him, beasts calm, weather stills, and fire bends gently. He has a commanding spiritual gravity, even in silence.

    Soulform Bond

Through the ancient rite of transformation, Torin achieved a permanent empathic link with his soulform — the garu-bear. This bond allows him to channel the beast’s traits in battle or stillness: unwavering calm, unstoppable force, and protective instinct.

    Genetic Lottery Winner

With Epicanthix and Vahla blood, he possesses rare natural power — both physically and metaphysically. His musculature isn't just aesthetic; it's purpose-built for wielding a greatsaber with elegant precision, whilst his natural ability to shield his mind from Force attacks proves an endless benefit.

    Keeper of Old Ways

Trained outside temple orthodoxy, Torin is the inheritor of a singular, focused tradition. His mastery is not scattered across dozens of techniques but deeply embedded in a select few — soul-deep and unshakable.

    Empathic Wisdom

He listens. Really listens. Animals, weather, children, old trees — he understands what most overlook. He never rushes judgment and rarely underestimates.

    SHORTCOMINGS

    Lone Path

Torin's lineage trains one apprentice per generation. As such, Torin often struggles with the structure, politics, and social flow of the broader Jedi Order. He is respected, but not easily included.

    Burden of Strength

Torin constantly reins himself in — physically and emotionally. He fears his strength could harm others if misused. In moments of emotional pain or loss, this restraint can snap or lead to paralysis.

    Hidden Grief

He rarely speaks of Elinar or his parents. His calm is authentic, but beneath it lies a quiet ache — a longing for connection he doesn't always know how to seek.

    Resistance to Change

Torin trusts instinct and tradition. While this makes him centered, it also means he can resist innovation or untested methods — even when they might help.

    Vahla Fire (Dormant)

Though trained in the Light, the fire in his blood whispers. He carries an inherited potential for destruction that he has never unleashed — but it’s there, like a furnace behind locked doors.
