Question Too many Starfighters on a carrier?

Hey all! So, I've created this ship called the Vilifier-class Star Destroyer. It's basically a refitted Venator-class Star Destroyer with some extra guns and armor. As I understand it in canon, the Venator houses a total of 420 starfighters. My ships carry a total of 144 starfighters. I was thinking about doing a codex modification to give the ships their original compliment of 420 fighters, but I'm not sure if that would be too many. Are their any gameplay balances I would have to make (like reducing armor or making it Semi-Unique or something), or would I be good to go?

Canon vessels are generally always better in terms of fighter compliments

That being said, the hanger space for vessels depends on the size and production. extreme numbers are usually reserved for unique to semi-unique. So mostly you are rarely ever going to get as many fighters as a venator straight up. You would need to make it so the fighter you are using is also a high count per squadron which will then add up with the hangers squadron count.

Sure, I get that. Makes sense what your saying. My question is, more specifically, would it be permissible to have a Venator sized ship with a capacity for 420 fighters at say, a limited production? (Assuming the fighters are things like TIE Fighters or Howlrunners or something similar sized)

That will depend on the fighters squadron count but even then I don't think you would be able to.

An extreme fighter squadron count would be 24 fighters per squadron which means unique to semi unique.

Limited would be very high at 20

The star destroyers sizes have

1000m [Base: 1 | Very Low: 3 | Low: 4 | Average: 5 | High: 7 | Very High: 9 | Extreme: 11]
1500m [Base: 2 | Very Low: 4 | Low: 6 | Average: 8 | High: 10 | Very High: 12 | Extreme: 15]
2000m [Base: 2 | Very Low: 5 | Low: 8 | Average: 11 | High: 14 | Very High: 17 | Extreme: 20]

at 1000 meter for limited you are looking at best 180
at 1500 meter for limited you are looking at best 240
at 2000 meter for limited you are looking at best 340

You would for optimal outcome go semi-unique squadrons which is 24 x a semi unique 2000 meter vessel.

Gotcha, that really helps to put it into perspective. Thank you for the information!
