Tomb worlds gave life once...

Korriban. Dread world, home to the Sith Empire, and breeding ground for the Darkside. Now restyled Erebor, and held in check by Jedi Master Carn Dista. He had spent increasingly little time on the ground, mostly due to the creation of the Dista-Class space station in orbit far above. On a clear day like this one, it was just about viewable - an impressive reminder to all on world that it was the Jedi and the Republic that held domunion over the ancient tombs, and not the Sith.

However with the expected arrival of several republic ships, Carn had decided to take himself, and his Padawan, onto the red sands. Carn had said nothing on the shuttleride down- nor had Vei. However they both stripped away the silence by chanting the Jedi Mantra as they stepped offf the shuttle. It helped to have ones mind focused when confronted with a place like Korriban.

A squad of republican infantry fell into line, moments after their Sargent had introduced themselves as squad five from the recently named KDF: Korriban Defence Force. However the troops had taken to calling themselves "Dista's Legion". Those stationed on the few ships and station above were known as "Dista's eyes", and those on world "Dista's Fists". Anyone in charge of maintaining communications had taken the monicker of "The Word of Dista". Initially Carn had encouraged that the soldiers refrain from restyling themselves as it wouldn't do for the Senate to belive him to be siphoning off Republic Soldiers for his own ends... However their overall commander had managed to convince the stoic Jedi that he, and his men, thought it a great honor to work alongside a Jedi Councillor, especially one with such a reputation, and had named themselves after him out of pure respect. While he still didn't fully encourage it, allowing the soldiers their chosen designations was good for Morale, and that was a sorely needed thing on a Sith tainted tombworld.

After some time of walking, Carn turned to his Padawan and he soldiers... "Vei. Take the men to the main control centre, I wish to test myself against the Darkside. If I fail to return within two hours, or do not make contact during that time, send a scout party for me."

"As you wish, Master. I'll ensure that everything is running without error." The Padawan's tone spoke of great faith in her Master - she had no reason to worry for him, and expected that he would return on time. The soldiers turned and began to walk, with Vei only pausing to bow to her master, and receive a bow in kind, before she set off on a light jog to catch up with the others.

Waiting just long enough to watch the canyon that would inevitably lead them back to the throne room consume their figures, Carn turned on his heel and set off in an entirely random direction. The force was his ally, and he knew it would see him to safety. He also knew that it was pointless picking a true destination when attempting to test oneself in such a manner, as on a planet like Korriban, or Erebor as it was slowly becoming known, a being didn't have to travel far to find something darksided...

Korriban; Kära had been the last Sith to govern this planet, the last true owner of it before the collapse of the Empire. Or more, before she left... Which had taken place beforehand, not that technicalities mattered. It was not something one was likely to forget, even though Felucia had more of a place within her heart, and Bastion was her first. It felt wrong to see it in the hands of the Republic now, more so a frontier for the Jedi Order. It was wrong, it shouldn't be happening - but there was nothing she herself could do about it. Yet that did not stop her from visiting all the same.

She had been roaming the interior of the tombs for some time now, perhaps a week at the least. It reminded her of the time she spent upon Barkhesh, and the odd disturbing noises she had heard within, the forceful cries to be freed. Yet for once no noises stirred here, not even the sounds of pillagers or tomb robbers. Thus the Sith Lord was quite content to roam the tombs, seeking out the mysteries and looking to the inscribed lore upon walls, rockfaces and statues. She did not expect to find anything new, but that wasn't the point. Academia meant more than looking for new lore, instead it was more the understanding of what you had to work with.

And where better to learn than through visiting the places the knowledge was first discovered?

Kära was well aware of the task force upon Korriban, and thus she aimed to avoid it at all cost. Her awareness of herself and those around her made this an easier feat than it otherwise would have been, although she knew that as security had begun to tighten up it would be far more difficult getting out of here again. That didn't stop her having plans to do so either way. And as the former owner of this planet she had a few tricks up her sleeve, she knew where caches of not only weapons but also resources were stored. She had no worries of being 'stranded' here for a little while, although she did have other plans to carry out away from Korriban.

Time would tell as to how long it took.

Carn had found his way to one of the innumerable tombs on the planet. Some of which had been exposed during the conflict that rested the world away from the Empire. It was one such tomb thay he found himself entering. The Darkside was palpable, and it's vile pervasive nature seemed to revolt at Carn's intrusion. Not that he cared, of course. It was further justification that his faith in the Lightside was well placed.

It took him a little time to become accustomed to the dank lighting situation within the tomb - so much so that at first he failed to notice the footprints in the dust. Yet when he did, he instantly became more cautious. Seeking out a test of faith in the tombs was a dangerous thing in the first place, yet if there was another here then it would become all the more dangerous. The tombs had a way of driving their inhabitants to violence.

With each footstep he traced the footprints towards their origin... Whoever it was was likely to find themselves confronted by the Jedi Master. Perhaps ot would be the test of faith he was looking for - the Force had it's way of setting him on the right direction.

Something wasn't quite right.

As the young woman continued through the tombs her senses began to jar and prick. No longer was she alone, and it wasn't just one of the regular patrols... Unless they suddenly upped the measure to include a Force Wielding branch. But at the present time she had other things to do; thus, with her senses wide and wary she continued on her way, entering one of the danker tombs. Thankfully her ocular superiority meant she had no need for torches or lights, giving one less indication to her presence.

Inside this particular antechamber she noted an old tablet: it was one she had found as a child, during her first few months on Korriban, but she hadn't understood any of it, nor had she bothered to take down anything. She supposed it was time to right that wrong, and the engraved Sithese was like second nature to her now. With a quirky half smile, the likes of which she'd never allow anyone to see her wearing, she stepped closer to the monument and began to read it - mentally, of course.
