OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a tomb that the Wukong use to train their padawans and test their skills.
  • Canon: n/A

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Tomb of the Yovshin
  • Classification: Tomb
  • Location: Atrisia codex Atrisia wookiee
  • Affiliation: Atrisian Commonwealth
  • Accessibility: Easily accessed along the pathway that has been provided from the Agora temple. The tombs main entrance requires scaling a small cliff face over a pool of water.
  • Description:
  • From the tombs main entrance there is a small pool that the padawan is able to dive into. Hydrostatic bubbles designed to let them get oxygen are scattered under the waters while the cave has crystal glow lights to illuminate the path forward and into sections of the cave system. Coming into a chamber with a scalable rock wall. The first mural is set within a side chamber in the waters that cn be found to get the first piece of the puzzle.
  • From the rock wall you would proceed upwards and climb around a smaller section to get around to a cute. The chute going on and needing to use the force to help endure and crawl up to a small platform where it looks at a second ledge on the opposite side of the pool and waters below going into the higher sections of the cave.
  • The pathway from the ledge goes through a large door. A lever on the side of it that can be used to illuminate the path ahead towards a bridge and a counter weight for the bridge to keep it raised when there is weight on it. The second mural is here to the right with a puzzle piece and across the bridge is the main entrance to the tomb itself.
  • A massive chamber designed with statues that drop heavy blocks along the paths and suspended levels that need to be moved into place. The mirrors on either side are designed to reflect the light into crystals that open the doors at the end into the treasure chamber. The most notable thing is the lower level of the chamber and below that a large chasm.
  • The suspended platforms are the important part and using telekinesis getting them in place is required, finding a means to secure and keep them in place so they do not drift back up into the center ofthe room. The left path is more spaced out with heavy blocks moving faster and more chasm space between but the blocks are set to drop slower while the right side has more platforms for less jumping and more speed as the blocks come fast.
  • Above and behind the door leading it and accessable from one of he suspended platforms if they let it go back up while standing on it is the third mural and puzzle piece. It is one of the more tricky ones to find as the ledge is below it and the painting is in a small alcove.
  • Once through the chamber either from the left or right paths the final mural and puzzle piece itself is on the door which requires the other three to open up. The treasure chamber is visible above a raised platform and the mechanism for a gravity chute is there to return down through an alcove above the tomb entrance.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Murals: Depicting the story of the yovshin and his dedication to his masters/emperors mandate. Scattered throughout the tomb in different areas and generally needed to figure out the puzzle at the end.
Treasure chamber: Located near the end over an anti-grav chute that is designed to return towards the tombs entrance. The treasure chamber can only be opened with the four pieces that are collected from the murals.

SECURITY
Low
With no real defenses, the main entrance is harder to get into as it presents a narrow passage inside of the tomb.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Once there was a mighty lord, his region of Atrisia was considered one of the largest and most prosperous compared to many under him and he was seen as a favorite of the Emperor from their childhood friendship. Reclusive compared to others he did not hold the most treasure, did not build vainglorious monuments to himself and the emperor, nor was he a devout follower of indifferent gods, nor the strongest in military might... what he had was knowledge and had been considered a sage among the many lords under the emperor and empress. They would send him tales of their problems and he would work to solve them.

Far and wide he searched for the greatest advisors, the greatest minds by sending his emissaries. From the palaces of lords to the shack of the lowest peasant. The test was simple, an insoluble riddle... a simple spiral seashell and twine. Tens of thousands tried and failed.... of them all only thirteen were able to solve the riddle by tying the end of the twine to an insect and letting it walk through the shell. Of the thirteen who were brought to him for their minds one stood out among them. The sister of the Empress, one regarded for her beauty and mind.

In a matter of months the lords lands advanced far ahead of all others in agriculture, astronomy, philosophy and even military strategy in ways that were unmatched by many in history. The downfall though came when some wished to leave and it was revealed their invitation to be part of his council of advisors was not optional. They were captives meant to stay there and fear of their deaths would keep others from coming after the captives. The emperor called his bluff, knowing the lord from childhood but unsure of how he looked now.

From the North came an army, bannerless but clad in yovshin armor of jade and precious stones. Said to be enchanted by a thousand lords to make them invulnerable and they were marching towards the lord to retrieve the people. The lord knew there was time and he devised a plan, sending his men to attack their flanks and pick at them as they came... interrupting their supply lines and breaking them down. This worked as the numbers dwindled down to a mere forty seven by the time they approached the gates of his palace. Still more died as they were taken inside.

The army was defeated, seemingly regarded as invincible they had walked through battles and traps and whittled down to finally just one. The leader who wore a cloak with his dark amber and jade armor. He was stripped of it... all of the armor had been gathered as it was worth much... their weapons, their small possessions had been gathered there and so were the advisors. The yovshin didn't say a word as he was humiliated and subjected to insults but he watched and waited. Eventually the lord started to divide the plunder and took the lions share for himself.

Then the yovshin said eight words to the lord finally looking at him. "When you go at the lord... don't miss." It was a strange thing to be said but then something happened. The yovshins hands were free and his blades came to them... from across the room they sang and spun slicing through the soldiers and as he stayed there all who came into the throne room were dispatched until only the yovshin, the lord and the sister of the empress were alive within. The lord looked on in freight and was asking why this had happened?

The yovshin explained to him that even the emperor couldn't recall what his childhood friend looked like, he never came to court, nor could the villagers know what he looked like he made no statues... nor would the man stand out for he didn't show his wealth with elaborate clothing and riches. No the only way to know the lord was to let him believe himself smarter then them, their duty demanded it, their honor swore to it and by the emperors decree he would be the last to die. He plunged the blades into the lord and returned the woman to her sister.

That was he story depicted on the tomb as it was being restored and worked on by the Wukong who understood much about the Yovshin... the tale was a classic of their people about the depths of honor one should be willing o go to for serving their lord and emperor. The tomb was something they had not been expecting.. it was open and dangerous with not a clear path but the theory was it wasn't about the man himself but more an idea of their journey from the north. Traps, hazards, perilous jumps and climbs over fissures in the mountain.

The work they did to alter and change the traps to be non lethal for testing purposes served them and restoring the original murals that were throughout the tomb so that it would present the story for those who wanted to learn it and try to complete the test to join the Wukong. Anti-grav chutes over the chasms to slow fall into a more protected space, padded but weighted blocks that would stun but not kill and an observation area for the master to oversee and end the test if it was needed.

The continued work on the Agora and with the Wukong to establish them as a force order under Atrisia and working on quelling random instances of sudden betrayal were what pushed for the emperor and empress to double the construction efforts. The tombs test for skill within the order is made to require a full use of the force and getting to the murals to open the treasure chamber with the puzzle pieces collected throughout the tomb.
