The present was where you existed. Every action and choice sent unseen ripples into tomorrow.
The future has not yet been written. A clean slate with an infinity of possibilities.
The past was as unyielding as a black hole. Not even time could escape its hold.
But this was not true for the brothers Hannibal and Tobias Dib.
Their past was written in the future of now—Twin brothers who escaped the destruction of their galaxy via magic, technology, and the Force. Fifty years from now, the galaxy was consumed by a blight of terror. Trillions vanished in a single moment. And then, people continued to disappear into nothingness. Those who still existed became carrion, surviving on the corpses of governments, factions, and orders. Ravagers stole from those who remained before spilling their blood. And in the midst of this, two teenage boys sought to go back in time and change their past to save the future.
It was a fool's errand. But the only path that remained to them.
The few remaining friends and family of House Dib gathered to attempt the unimaginable. And it worked, though it cost them their lives. Kad Tor, Rapax, Atin Kandossii, and Yasha Mantis were a few who fought to save the twins. And they died for it. Though not in vain. The Nether Gate was repurposed through their efforts, and the boys were sent back in time nearly ten years by the current calendar.
Slowly, Hannibal and Tobias found their parents and split up. Hannibal went with Arabella Darkhold, and Tobias followed Muad Dib. The twins shared a tearful goodbye, unaware it would be the last time they would ever see each other again. Shortly thereafter, a coolant leak in the ship Hannibal and Arabella were traveling on suffered a cataclysmic failure, damaging the hyperdrive and altering their course directly into the path of a sun.
In that moment, Tobias felt truly lost. The one being he had known his entire life had been snuffed out.
A chance meeting with his grandfather, Garith Darkhold, gave him direction, and so the youth journeyed to Atrisia and studied, learning all he could about the new timeline he found himself in. Journeys around the galaxy taught him many things as he searched out teachers of many different disciplines in the Force until he once again retreated to Atrisia.
Almost a decade has passed. And now, the young man has chosen this was his time to venture forth from the ancient Togashi castles of Atrisia. To change his past and save his future. And in doing so, he has taken on a moníker that his great-uncle Rhaegar once used for centuries.
The name of Nemesis.
