Location: Deep Space near New Plympto
Aboard the Shadowclaw
The Wookiee carefully watched from the bridge of his ship as droids picked over the remains of a pair of frigates that had previously been operated by raiders targeting the New Plympto system. With the fall of the Coalition some time ago, EODD had been given more and more power by the local government to deal with such things. The Nosaurians were well and truly on their own, it seemed, but for his intervention and the support he received from allies in other sectors of the Galaxy. What he could bring to the table, however, often was more than a match for the likes of pirate scum.
As if to serendipitously prove his assessment the body of one of the pirates, an Iridonian still in his combat gear, floated before the bridge lifelessly as he averted his attention to the salvage operation. Whatever goods they had on board could still be recovered and returned to their original owners. And what couldn't be returned could always be recycled.
"Sir, we're picking up a transmission from New Plympto," the communications officer suddenly interjected, drawing Errreembuhr's attention to his console. "It contains Minister Nores' clearance code."
"Put it through," he replied, stifling a groan. Nores Stonesinger had never been a fan of his, and was the only minister on New Plympto's governing council that opposed his ascension to represent them to the Coalition in its waning days. He assumed that this transmission would not be good news.
A holoprojector kicked on and he was soon met with a vision of the small, ancient looking Nosaurian woman.
"Minister Stonesinger, it's always a pleasure to speak with you."
"Your attempt at flattery is noted, Wookiee," the Minister replied curtly, her disdain for Errreembuhr evident. "But unnecessary. We have a problem, and much as I hate to admit it, you're the one best suited to help us."
He raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised to hear those words from the councilmember least likely to say them. "Anything to aid New Plympto, Minister. How can I help?"
"We received this transmission from Nubia not long ago." A hand moved, and within seconds there was a beep at the communications terminal again, though the droid this time didn't speak. It only activated a second holoprojector, allowing him to see the data screen.

ATTN: All Concerned. It is now the Policy of the Commonwealth Systems that any expansion into any sector adjacent to Nubia, will bee seen as an outright act of war. A grunt left his throat when the Wookiee finished reading.
"I see what you mean, Minister. Nubia is close to New Plympto. Very close. This could certainly be problematic for us."
"Problematic is putting it mildly. These fools could bring the Sith down on our sector. And they've caused enough trouble in the past years across the Core."
With a raised eyebrow, the Wookiee replied, "Are you asking me to declare war on this... Commonwealth?"
"Of course not. I'm asking you to do your job as Representative of New Plympto. We elected you for exactly this sort of situation. Warn them that any hostile action against the sovereignty of New Plympto will be met with harsh force."
"You mean harsh force by my company."
The Minister was silent for a moment. A moment which Errreembuhr capitalized on.
"Currently EODD supplies the vast majority of the New Plympto military. Weapons, ships, ammunition. A war against New Plympto is a war against EODD. If that's going to be the case I want at the very least equal recognition as such. Official recognition of EODD as the primary command structure of the New Plympto army and navy."
It was a stretch. Even he knew it. Especially with Minister Nores.
But it worked.
"Done. I will need to bring the matter to the rest of the Council, but they will support it." He could hear the seething disdain in her voice. She'd brought this to him expecting to be asked, and reluctantly had already decided it. Errreembuhr wondered if the other councilmembers had pressured her into agreeing to it. "But EODD will be the official military command of our system"
"Excellent. Thank you Minister."
He didn't get a response. The communication was ended on her side, though he couldn't complain. He'd gotten what he wanted.
"Prepare a transmission to this Commonwealth," the Wookiee said next to his communications officer.

Any direct aggression against the sovereign system of New Plympto or her allies will be met with force in kind. We will not tolerate expansive aggression in this sector of space nor do we recognize your authority to exert force on systems you do not control. You are hereby warned.
