Private To Steal Wisdom

Darth Engel stared out over the structure she’d found herself drawn to. Her search across the galaxy had given her many leads and many dead ends. This was one such lead, and likely to be yet another dead end. But nonetheless she would see for herself, and hope that this time she’d have some luck.

She had been searching for collections of esoteric wisdom, from both Sith and Jedi. Holocrons, scrolls and books were her focus, sources of knowledge that she hoped could relieve her of her burden. This far she’d had very little in the way of fortune. But there had been indication that a particular gang of pirates had come across something interesting, a holocron of Jedi origin, that supposedly contained wisdom of old that taught secrets of imbuing objects with the force, and that implied that she could use that knowledge to sever an object’s connection to the force as well.

That was what she sought here, and why she stood under the foliage observing the structure and its inhabitants. Noting the patterns of behavior and their general awareness. Sentries were posted, but they appeared lax, and unskilled. But they were nonetheless numerous.

Irritatingly so.

Stupid Outer Rim was stupid. Okay, it wasn't really, but Scherezade had been hard taught a long time ago by people she no longer trusted not to come here unless she was destroying stuff planet-side. The teachings still had their effect. Sure, she'd come, but it was a rare thing.

And really, she'd have preferred not to come. But then those stupid schematics. It had been her entire reason for coming back to the galaxy proper, but then life had become… Well, life, and now there were other things occupying her time and attention. And still, these silly schematics had managed to grab her attention for the time being again.

She'd spent so much gas jumping from one corner of the map to the other in search of them, and most of the time she felt like she wasn't any closer to completing her schematics than she had been three months ago.

So now she was here. Something about a holocron that could unveil the location of the next step.

She parked her ship nonchalantly at the docks, remembering one of the greatest tips she had ever received about doing anything. Act like you absolutely belong there. So that was what she did. She stepped off the ship, her glowing green eyes scanning the area. If this was her home and she had to get somewhere, what would she do?

Easy. She just walked, letting her presence within the Force flair wildly, letting the tufts of chaos swirl invisible around her and her immediate area. Hopefully, that would warn potential silly people to remain far away silly people.

She closed her eyes, inhaled deeply, and now let her senses snake out through the building in front of her, looking, searching… There. She didn't have an exact location, but she knew the general area she had to get to.

And of course, there were sentries posted in her way. Scherezade strolled right past a few of them as if they were ornamental furniture, pausing just long enough to glance at them with a lazy smile. "Which one of you fine gentlemen wants to tell me where you keep the pretty box?"

On the other side of the complex, the far smaller presence in the force began to approach the pirate’s hideout. She’d observed enough for now, and she’d seen no serious threats thus far. Certainly nothing that a red lightsaber wouldn’t kill or frighten away.

Her armored boots made significant noise as she strode towards the entrance on her side of the complex. Entirely oblivious to the other woman trying to gain entry on the other side, at the same time.

As she approached her way in blasters were leveled at her, as expected. And she ignited the blade of her weapon. “Now now, this needn’t get bloody. I need only one thing from you. Hand over the holocron your people have collected and I will be on my way, and you will get to continue your efforts unhindered. I have no interest in destroying you, only a small piece of your inventory.”

She anticipated violence, but given her… condition she much preferred to evade battle of any sort as much as was possible.

The sentries facing Scherezade were taken aback by the strange woman’s demeanor and total lack of fear. Ultimately they kept their weapons trained on her, but were looking around at their fellows in confusion. What pretty box did this woman mean?
