To See Through the Walls of the Colder Hearts

Corusant again...

What was Elvira even doing here??

Well, her master apparently had a lot of time on his hands, so Elvira had come back to... some of her roots... to see if, by chance, she could run into a streak of luck that would teach her something new within the Force. She sighed, pulling her green hood over her head, and turned a corner in the busy streets of the upper Corusant world. Elvira let her mind swerve and sway, she wondered about her current position. She was the apprentice of a Sith, yet she was not a Sith herself. Her master was unlike most any Sith she had ever heard of, she actually could respect and even trust him. Elvira was purely neutral, all she wanted was power. She didn't know where it would take her, but she knew she would need it... But for what?

Elvira had no idea. No idea at all. She kept of walking around the old streets of an old, dying planet. Corusant was still thick with industrialism, but she knew that it's golden age had ended long ago. Elvira pulled her cloak tighter over herself as she just kept on walking... She kept on walking.

Elvira turned another corner to see a shocking sight. Two Patrolian children, about nine years of age, were surrounded by a group of bulky robbers. They and glares that Elvira didn't like one bit. She didn't even stop to ask but she slunked into a corner and drew her sniper rifle. Before anyone could tell, three of the five scoundrels had fallen dead. Elvira placed the rifle back onto her back and raced out to defend the children. She had her katana in one hand, one of her DC-17 blaster rifles in the other. She used the Force to help her aim her blaster at the closest man, however she missed. She dropped it once she got into close combat range and aimed her light blade towards the alien in front of her yet she she missed again. Elvira growled and then proceeded to cut him down with a single, clean swoop. The stance she took, her posture and the way she held her sword, it was very similar to the lightsaber style Ataru. She turned to the last man, stepping between him and the children with her weapon pointed towards his throat, "Leave these children be."

Flint was on optimist. Many saw Coruscant as simply a dying, polluted planet, full of crime and with no hope. Flint believed otherwise. If crime could be eradicated or at least better handled on Coruscant, he reasoned, the city-filled planet could have a bright future ahead of it. Sometimes, Flint recalled back on how he had wanted to become a Jedi primarily because of his desire to combat crime.

Today he had chosen to drift amongst the populace, and to see if help was needed anywhere. Neither the government of the Republic nor the Jedi Council had not recognized or chose to ignore that there were problems to solve, even within the Republic and not just outside of it. Crime, as Flint saw it, had to always be kept at bay. Even just that day, Flint had been involved in stopping about half a dozen criminal activities.

Wearing his typical Jedi tunic but covering himself with a ragged brown cloak, Flint walked through the city streets. Suddenly, he heard a voice right around the corner. "Leave these children be." Wondering what had happened, the Jedi Knight casually walked forward and turned around the corner to see... a very confusing sight.

Immediately, Flint saw who the female voice had been speaking to. Without hesitation, the Jedi sent forth a Force Push that flung the remaining scoundrels into a wall, knocking them unconscious. Flint looked around at the scene, and realized that three people were dead on the floor, two frightened children were standing around, and one human female was holding a katana and a blaster rifle. It appeared to Flint that the women had killed the three on the floor. "Have you killed these three men, young lady?" he questioned.

Elvira could see it already. The outfit he was wearing, the robe that hid the tunic. He had used a Force push on the last man. Elvira could also note by the way he spoke, he must be a Jedi. It was only a guess, but Elvira knew a Jedi when she saw one... as she had lived in swarms of them for about nine years!

The former Jedi youngling let her katana fall back into the sheath she wore on her back. She kept hold of the one pistol she had left though as she glared up at the man as he asked her if she had "murdered" these men. Elvira growled for a moment, then placed her DC-17 pistol back in the holster strapped around her belt. She looked up at the man, her green hood still over her head, and crossed her arms in a posture that suggested she felt no authority from him. "These men were harming these children," Elvira answered, one of her hands unfolding and gesturing towards the children, "What else should I have done? ..."

She still felt positive that this man was a Jedi, something just told her... and yet, how could she tell? She decided to ask him, "... Jedi?"

Interesting. From what the Force told Flint about this young woman, she held much potential. Perhaps she was a Force-User? He crossed his arms as well, watching as she put away her weapons while explaining the fact that 'these men were harming these children'. Without a word, the Jedi Knight walked up to the two children and motioned for them to leave patiently. It didn't appear as though they wanted to stay in the scene where dead bodies were lying on the floor anyways. Giving what could be percieved as a grateful look towards the woman, the children hurried off.

Instead of answering the question made by the woman, Flint lowered himself to look at the slain bodies. He sighed when the young woman assumed him to be a Jedi. Even with cloaks covering most of his tunic, Jedi were easy to identify when they used their Force moves. "Think for yourself. What else could you have besides straight up killing them?" Flint inquired simply, not choosing to reply directly to the woman.

Elvira rolled her eyes. That pacifist way of thinking, he was a Jedi alright. And he didn't know. He didn't know when an absolute was an absolute because he most likely had only been pampered between all his missions if the Jedi even gave any these days to save others from all the chaos around the galaxy. Elvira's arns stayed crossed as she replied to him.

"I used to consider that," she replied in all honesty, "But living in a world where people always act without even a proper first thought, it caused me to change." She tilted her head towards the streets behind them, "This," she stated, "Has been my home since I was a young girl." She shrugged. "What else do I do in a forsaken place like this?"

From what Flint could tell, the young woman before him seemed to loathe his way of thinking. Certainly, many viewed it as out-of-line and perhaps overly pacifist for the modern times. He viewed his way of thinking as more in line with the Jedi way, however. Even some of his fellow Jedi seemed to toss the pacifist aspect of being a Jedi out the window.

"I was raised in the streets, just like you." he said, leaning against a wall nearby. "Yet I made the choice to be different from people here that 'act without even a proper first thought'. How about you? How can you consider doing what you did to these men as 'acting with a proper first thought'?" the Jedi remarked, motioning at the slain men on the floor.

Elvira's mouth curved into a growl, she was now positive that he was a Jedi. Her arms still crossed, her chin lifted up to match his authority, she spoke in an angry, offended voice with an incredibly silent, cool tone.

"You have no idea what the likes of YOU did to a misguided, way-ward,little girl how many years back." She hinted her back story with that last sentence, "But look", her voice suddenly grew louder and more like a child, "I only kill those who kill others". One of her arms unfolded and she lifted a lazy hand towards the men, "Those who abuse and destroy what is good."

Her eyes narrowed in a warning, yet her voice was sincere. "I would never harm innocents in my life."

This woman before Flint seemed to dislike him. Despise him, even. What for, the Jedi Knight was not too sure about. What she said next, however, clarified things for him. It seemed as though that this woman grew up having been negatively influenced by the Jedi.

"So tell me, what did the Jedi ever do to you?" Flint questioned, curious now to hear the answer. "Interesting. If you were to kill everyone who abuse and destroy what is good, you'd be no different from a Sith." he would then comment upon hearing her answer.

Elvira growled before answering that comment, "Hey!" Her eyes AND voice were now in deep warning, "Don't you DARE compare me to the Sith. Those - Those abusive murderers who pillage the galaxy in chaos for their own selfish reasons!" Her eyes suddenly raised in a glance that showcased damage. "And now look at the JEDI," she continued, "What have THEY done to help? Huh?!" A bit of extra umph was placed in the last part, "As far as WE are concerned, NOTHING!

"You have done NOTHING! Why is there still slavery around? Why are bounty hunters roaming the galaxy, taking innocent lives and coming out with just more money in their pockets?" Her voice toned down to being more soft and oppressed upon. "Why do pirates still exist, have you done anything to fix that?" She then lifted her hand and pointed at HIM. "How come the Jedi Council knew there were BULLIES beating up and scaring kids like ME within their very own Jedi Temple and they did absolutely nothing!" She was now letting herself scream, a tear falling, "WHY?!?"

She sighed and turned away from him, pulling her cloak protectfully over her body, "You never really understood," her voice was almost silent and cracked, "And you will never understand." She turned away, attempting the scruff the tears beginning to fall from her eyes with kicking some dirt up. "You'll never understand the lonely." And she attempted to walk away, hoping her words would have woken that pitiful excuse for a peace keeper up a bit.

The Jedi Knight was quite taken back. And was not very happy either. Most men tended to be unhappy when they had an angry female screaming at their face. "We're trying to stop slavery- We try to stop bounty hunters- And pirates too-" Flint attempted to fit in what he had to say in between what Elvira was saying. She gave him little time for that, however.

Flint simply looked at the young woman as she started walking away, clearly upset. He looked down at the dead pirates on the ground, conflicted as to whether or not he was supposed to arrest the girl for killing. "Wait up-" he began to say.

Suddenly, there was an audible explosion that took place right around the corner. Without a warning, a band of dozen or so pirates rushed towards them, cutting Elvira off from walking forward. "We're here to kill you, Jedi scum." One of the pirates said. Flint rushed forward, as the pirates started firing at them. He hoped Elvira wouldn't kill these pirates this time.

Elvira jumped in her tracks as the pirates exploded in and threatened the Jedi. Elvira could tell by their looks that they thought that the Jedi @[member="Flint Dexen"] was responsible for their deaths... not her.

At first, Elvira would have loved nothing more than to see these scum blast him to bits, but her heart screamed in sanity - she could not let this man pay for something SHE did... then who would be the monster here after all?

She faced the pirates, who were now circled around the Jedi, and reached for them calling out "Stop!"

The pirates turned to her, confused. Elvira rolled her eyes and placed her sniper rifle in a position to where it was loosely hanging on her shoulder, but she still had her hand on the gun and her finger on the trigger. With the other hand, she drew one of her katanas out and pointed it at them, "Hey! I killed them, not him. If you're going to at least try to kill anybody that anybody is going to be me."

Flint watched in surprise as Elvira announced to the pirates that she had been the one to kill their comrades. It was a rather courageous action, and Flint admired such thing. Not only that, but that also saved Flint, which he was grateful about.

As the pirates turned to face the young woman, Flint released a burst of Force push at two pirates, sending them flying into the wall. They smashed into it, before crumpling down and falling unconscious. He activated his cyan lightsaber, and sliced several of the pirate's blasters into pieces before they could fire a single shot at Elvira.

"Watch out!" Flint warned as he kicked a nearby pirate, as a Rodian pirate armed with a sharp dagger rushed towards Elvira.

Elvira had been bonking several hunters upside their heads with the two ends of her sniper rifle. It was sending many of them to dream land. However, some of she had to throw other punches and kicks at.

Whenever [member="Flint Dexen"] had warned her about another pirate, Elvira instead instinctively threw a Force Push at the Rodian before he could even get close.

Elvira shot a thankful glance at the then began attacking any others around her.
