To Prevent Boredom [ Xiarr Sair ]

Aboard the Crimson Dragon
Training Room
Vaulkhar sat comfortably within the large training room, he aided Hala, the captain of the Crimson Dragon, in designing. It was not necessarily large, but by no means was it small. The main portion of the room was a large square, designed specifically for melee based training. Anything from basic sword fighting, lightsaber combat, or even hand-to-hand combat was permitted within the room. Using the funds he's put together over the years, Vaulkhar even managed to stock the room with important training equipment, such as padding for hand-to-hand, and training lightsabers or normal blades. It allowed for a safe environment in order to increase the overall skill of the crew.

Connected to the larger portion of the room was a basic shooting range and even a small lounge for after training relaxation. A small bar was fit in as well, along with a mini cooler for basic food and beverages.

Within the center of the mat, Vaulkhar's eyes were closed and his focus was elsewhere. He sat in a basic meditation position, his chest moving in and out as he took in oxygen through the nose and released it through his mouth. He sat within this room whenever he wasn't working on droids or actively taking part in missions for either Hala or his master. He kept the training area clean as a portion of his own training, that being discipline and responsibility.

Since his offer to the crew to aid them in any training in relation to the force or lightsaber, he had basically made this room his home. Waiting for someone to take him up on his offer.

Abruptly,the automatic doors to the training doors would open. Xiarr would step into the room, there stood a man meditating. Xiarr looked around the room,there seemed to be training droids,a lounge,and a shooting range. It was better than Xiarr expected,well,for pirates at least. Why he joined up with the crew of The Crimson Dragon, was simply because he was bored. There was nothing to really do if you weren't in the Galactic Alliance or the Sliver Sanctum. But that was different topic entirely, for now, he was here to hone his skills,not complain about the state of the galaxy.

After reviewing his thoughts, Xiarr toke a breath and stepped toward the man,waiting to see his reaction to Xiarrs arrival.

[member="Vaulkhar"]

Vaulkhar's eyes opened and he turned his attention to that of the newcomer. If Xiarr would to look closely, he'd note almost immediately that Vaulkhar was blind. His gaze was empty, the colors of his eyes a dull gray. A smile creased his face as he lowered his head into a nod. So far this was the only person to respond to his ship-wide message of the completion of the training room along with his offer to train. He was somewhat excited at the idea of being able to train with people other than himself, considering the inability to grow beyond a certain point whilst training alone. He straightened and then stood up.

"Greetings, stranger. I don't think I've formally introduced myself to you, even though I've seen you around the crew before. I am Vaulkhar, it is a pleasure. And welcome to the training room."

[member="Xiarr Sair"]

As soon as the stranger opened his eyes,Xiarr noticed something about them,the were a faded gray. He had no idea he was blind,but it wouldn't really make a difference as long as he knew what he was doing.
"Hello there,I do remember getting a brief glance at you in the mess hall,but I couldn't really make out the details."
[member="Vaulkhar"]
(Sorry about this huge delay for this tiny post,school loves to get in the way)

"Yes, I'm glad you recognize me."

Vaulkhar grinned as he lowered himself into a slight bow. He held it for a second before straightening once more.

"It is not often that I bow, it is a rare occasion." His grin disappeared from his face as he began to pace back and forth on the mat. It became clear from his slightly-moving head that Vaulkhar was sizing up Xiarr. After a few seconds of this, his gaze returned to that of his face once more. "Do you seek formal training in the force or lightsaber usage, friend?"

[member="Xiarr Sair"]

Xiarr bowed back,holding it for two seconds or so and then standing straight up again.
"How about both? We shall start with lightsaber combat,but if you're not up to force abilities that is fine."
Xiarr then gazed at the training droids,he had no idea where they might train with a saber,but the droids might be a good start. Xiarr then walked over to the droids to get a better look a them. They seemed to be a basic model,nothing very special at a first glance.
[member="Vaulkhar"]

"I would suggest taking one of the training sabers, having to purchase new droids is rather bothersome. Not a fan."

Vaulkhar chuckled as he brought a hand up, lifting one lightsaber from it's place on the wall. He gently moved it through the air towards Xiarr before releasing it above him to be caught. He did the same, but this time for himself. Grabbing it as it fell, he activated it and moved towards a training droid adjacent to the man. He took up a basic attacking pose, with the lightsaber directly before him and then launched a series of basic thrusts and attacks. The lightsaber made an audible pop upon impact but simply bounced off. No lasting damage could be seen.

He turned towards Xiarr and nodded at the droid before him.

"What are you interested in, in terms of lightsaber work? Specific forms? Basic training? These droids are capable for training offensive and defensive purposes."

[member="Xiarr Sair"]

Xiarr caught the training blade with ease and put it to his side. Xiarr then looked at [member="Vaulkhar"] and said:
"I would like to improve my Djem So and Jarkai skills if that is comfortable for you."
XIarr then backed away from the training droid,and went into a basic Djem So stance,activating the training blade.

Vaulkhar nodded and lifted his own training lightsaber, activating the simple green blade. He swung it around momentarily, getting a feel for it's weight and length before nodding. He took a step towards Xiarr and motioned for him to raise the training lightsaber.

"I have no idea how skilled you are in Djem So, but I only have an understanding of the basics and some slight advanced moves. I'm willing to also practice the lightsaber form with you. So I suppose we can just duel it out, get a feel for it through live combat."

And with that, he stepped forward and launched himself into a series of basic slashes and cuts. He took an aggressive posturing, doing his best to put Xiarr off balance with the attacks. Every so often, one attack would simply be stronger than the rest, as it was imbued with the force.

[member="Xiarr Sair"]

I'd s-" Xiarr was caught off guard by the series of strikes. Xiarr barely managed to sidestep,getting slashed in the shoulder. Xiarr activated his training saber,the simple green would ignite. XIarr and then jump into the air,performing The Falling Avalanche . Xiarr would then fall back to Earth,slamming his blade against [member="Vaulkhar"]'s. Xiarr would break off from his attack and raise his blade,appearing to lay down one last strike. But in reality,Xiarr was testing Vaulkhar's skills,waiting for him to react with an offensive push.

Vaulkhar nodded as the attack came through. He recognized it from his father, considering it was something he used quite often. Not even bothering to block it, he side stepped, enhancing his speed with the force before raising his saber in defense. As a thrust did not come from the feint, he stepped forward and followed the motions. His blade came down in an arc, aiming to bat aside Xiarr's blade before following into a horizontal slash, finally ending in a thrust. These were basic, offensive maneuvers that usually only worked in the case of him being further enhanced by the force. But considering his lack of said speed, they are not at their peak.

"This is pretty fun."

[member="Xiarr Sair"]

Xiarr struggled to keep his blade in his hand,using all of his might to do so. Xiarr then kicked [member="Vaulkhar"] in his lower chest,knocking him back before he can deal the final motion. This had turned into a heated duel more than a simple training exercise. When Vaulkhar said this is "fun" Xiarr chuckled for a bit. He then went into a Soresu stance,waiting for Vaulkhar to make his next move.

The kick caught him off guard, that was something unexpected. Attempting to side step caused the kick to instead clip his hip, sending him stumbling back slightly. The duel indeed was growing in tempo, which was always exciting. His desire to use his force techniques as sparingly as possible remained though, as it was meant to only raise the challenge level, not make it impossible. Taking a deep breath, Vaulkhar took a moment to study the stance before him. It was Soresu, a style he himself was comfortable with. Stepping forward, Vaulkhar launched into another flurry of powerful, offensive blows.

These attacks were meant purely to keep Xiarr on the defensive and move him back.

[member="Xiarr Sair"]

Xiarr could tell that the kick caught [member="Vaulkhar"] off guard,Xiarr had a basic knowledge of Ataru,which he would sometimes implement into his moves. Xiarr then parried the flurry of blows,with a bit of hassle. Xiarr purposely stayed in a Soresu stance,wanting to see more of Vaulkhars offensive skills. Xiarr also toke a deep breath and began to pace around the room,preparing for another barrage of strikes and slashes.

It was obvious that Vaulkhar was trying to get Xiarr into a corner where Vaulkhar could get a major advantage. Xiarr knew this,trying to get away from the rooms corners and walls.

Vaulkhar just followed him around the room, continuing to change up his attack patterns as to make sure he could not be easily read. His philosophy for combat was rather simple. If the enemy is constantly on the defensive, they cannot attack. So keep them on the offensive. And so he did. His blade thrust, it slashed, it cut, and it jabbed at Xiarr's defense, seeking to move around it. It took everything he could not to move to Makashi, which was his preferred style and his best. His training in Djem So was equally important to Xiarr's so he was utilizing this to the best of his ability to learn.

"Your Soresu form is pretty solid."

[member="Xiarr Sair"]

"Thanks for the compliment" even Xiarr really didn't know if he was being sarcastic,which was odd for him. Xiarr parried [member="Vaulkhar"]'s attacks once more,but it was far from easy. Xiarr then pushed Vaulkhar back with the force,Xiarr was clearly trying to keep force moves basic and or simple. Xiarr then switched to a Djem So stance and charged at Vaulkhar,Xiarr twirled his blade around while charging and then slammed it against Vaulkhars green blade. He then slashed his blade against Vaulkhars blade. Xiarr then jabbed and slashed the blade as well,trying to break through Vaulkhars guard.

Vaulkhar immediately slipped into something easily recognizable by Xiarr after being pushed back by the force; Soresu. Falling into a tight guard, Vaulkhar began to move in a circle as he attacked him aggressively. As not to lose his balance or back himself into a wall, he just kept moving in a circular form. The guard was nearly as skilled as his series of blows, considering the amount of effort that went into it's training. Vaulkhar's green training blade moved back and forth, deflecting the blows. Each blade caused a clashing of sound as Xiarr made contact. Vaulkhar bit the inside of his cheek as he slashed to interrupt a blow before stepping forward.

As the blade was bat to the side, Vaulkhar aimed a powerful slash at Xiarr's shoulder. With the power of the training blade and the power of his slash, it would be a jarring and painful blow (if it hits). He would then step back and move back into a Soresu based stance.

[member="Xiarr Sair"]

This had gone on long enough,it was just a big stalemate with no clear winner. Once more,[member="Vaulkhar"] had batted Xiarr's blade to his side and looked like he was going to slash his shoulder. Yet again,Xiarr used his body as a weapon and punched Vaulkhar in the face. Xiarr wasn't very proud of using his fists,but it had to be done if he didn't want to lose the fight in probably the most painful way possible. XIarr then raised his blade into the air,and it came down on Vaulkhars green blade,almost knocking it to the ground. Xiarr was tempted to switch to Makashi to easily disarm Vaulkhar and win the fight with ease,but this was a Djem So duel. In one swift motion,Xiarr would raise his blade to Vaulkhars chest level. This was the break he was looking for,he could win this fight if the blow hit (which hopefully it won't) Xiarr would easily win the duel.

Vaulkhar took the blow to the face, plain and simple really.

He reeled back after the blow, his own attack going wide. As he reeled back, his head immediately snapped downward and his eyes, which were once dull and gray turned an angry, orange color. The dark side began to flow through him, and it empowered him. As Xiarr brought down the blow, Vaulkhar defended against the blow with little effort. The force could be felt drawing towards Vaulkhar, as he seemingly sucked it up through the room. What was once a warm temperature, was now cold as the flow of the force was sucked up through the anger Vaulkhar was putting off. It could be felt condensing around his training blade, seeming to empower the weapon even further.

Within a second, he had simply vanished. Where he was, was empty. The sound of robes flapping could be heard from Xiarr as Vaulkhar quite literally plummeted downward, the force enhancing his own fall as he came down at twice the normal speed. And the training blade seemed to glow from the amount of force energy stored from within. It had gotten a little too serious.

[member="Xiarr Sair"]

"What the hell..." Vanished. [member="Vaulkhar"] had vanished,he had no idea what was going on,had Xiarr killed him? Suddenly,Xiarr could hear robes flapping,maybe he was hearing things,but when is that every true? Xiarr then noticed had gone cold,this couldn't be a coincidence. It must be the darkside Xiarr thought,but how could the darkside make someone invisible? Before he could figure it out,something slammed to the ground. Xiarr quickly went into a Soresu stance. Xiarr could see a glowing blade,but no man to wield it...
