Tova Rachi

Naboo
Approximately 6 months
from Tova's departure to the Diarchy

The temple in Lake Country was filled with the sweet scent of honey blossoms that wafted in from the open rolling hills outside. It was an airy temple. Open and hospitable. It was one of Tova's favourite places on a world full of favourites.

Dressed her normal pure white, simple cotton attire of her order, she sat crosslegged on a cushion amidst a floor that was a tile mosaic of the goddess Shiraya. It had been a good time of meditation. She felt connected to Naboo and its people. She felt alive. For the first time in weeks she had been able to rid herself to he slowly growing feeling of doom that accompanied thoughts of her departure from this world and its people.

Her presence here had a point though. She had been chosen for the first round of training with a newcomer to Naboo. Along with another Daughter, one whom Tova was unfamiliar, they were going to learn from this newcomer an ability that could unlock the Daughter's true potential.

It was a thrilling prospect. One that made Tova more excited than she had been for some time. The rumour was that this ability would grant them access to the memories of their ancestors. Tova had been chosen primarily for the voices she might be able to access from the women in her line. Several of them held roles of distinction not just among the Daughters but in government and aristocracy as a whole. The secrets they could unlock could be revolutionary.

She stood upon hearing footsteps, and turned to the newcomer. She bowed her head just slightly. "Always remember. Never again," she said, speaking the familiar mantra of the Daughters of the Scar.

The quiet hum of the Naboo temple was a soothing balm, yet Mohina Sioran remained guarded as she stepped into the space. The faint scent of blooming flowers drifted in from the lake outside, mingling with the faint trace of incense burned earlier in the day. She had acknowledged the presence of the woman who greeted her with openness, but unfamiliarity still loomed heavy between them. Mohina felt the familiar pull of two opposing instincts: the need for caution and the hope for connection. She adjusted the shawl draped across her shoulders, a subtle movement that steadied her nerves and brought her thoughts into focus.

“Never again,” Mohina returned the customary greeting of the Daughters, “I am Mohina Sioran. I hope that the sisters have guided me to the correct place.”

Her gaze softened as she stepped closer to where Tova stood. The woman’s demeanor was welcoming, but Mohina had learned that warmth could sometimes hide deeper intentions. Even so, she allowed a small, cautious smile to flicker across her face—a gesture that hinted at optimism breaking through her guarded exterior.

“Whom else are we expecting?” she questioned, her voice carrying curiosity tinged with an underlying desire for clarity.

Her eyes wandered the space, searching for signs of others who might join them in this venture. Whatever this journey would uncover, Mohina knew it would not be undertaken alone. She stood silently after, her hands folded neatly before her, awaiting Tova’s response while feeling the weight of the moment settle in the air between them. This temple, this meeting—it was only the beginning, but beginnings were often the most uncertain steps.

Tova took her sister's hands in her own. Her eyes were alight with warmth and welcome. All Daughters of the Scar were her family, such as she had been taught. "Greetings Mohina Sioran. Do you prefer either as your primary name? Or do you have a shorter variant that you prefer?" She asked, inspecting the woman's facial markings. They were magnificent.

"I am Tova Rachi. Tova is fine. Or Tov if I am in trouble," she said, though a little sheepish at the end.

She turned, looping her arm in with her sister's and looked toward the field where any newcomers would likely be parking their speeder.

"Just one known as...Mother Askani," she said before offering a conspiratorial glance, "sounds all very mysterious, does it not?"

The soft murmur of waves lapping against the shores of Naboo's Lake Country filled the air as Mother Askani, approached the secluded temple nestled between the verdant hills. The temple was an unassuming structure, its stone exterior camouflaged by time - it had been here for some time.

As she ascended the temple steps, the scent of incense filled the air, mingling with the faint, earthy aroma of the stone walls. Two figures awaited her just beyond the temple's entrance, silhouetted against the warm, golden light of the setting sun. The daughters, clad in flowing robes, stood with a regal air—their posture mirroring the disciplined elegance of what she'd normally associate with Naboo's nobility.

She had made a deal with the Queen, one involving a favor for favor. And she knew for what was to come next, she needed all things this side of the galaxy to progress as intended.

The inner sanctum was dimly lit, its only illumination provided by beams of sinking sunlight streaming through high, narrow windows.

When she came upon the two young women, she could sense their curiosity and skepticism, but also their hunger for the knowledge she had promised to share. "You may call me Mother Askani. I'm deeply honored to be here." she greeted rather warmly, bowing her head with reverence.

She gestured toward the temple's inner sanctum. "Shall we proceed inside?"

As they walked, "I should say, what we begin here may one day shape not just this temple, but the entire kingdom of Naboo. I thank you for your openness and willingness to learn something new."

Mohina's blue eyes flicked wide for a moment as her fellow Daughter took her by the hands. It was startling moment that made her initially recoil at the suddenness. Her life had taught her many things, including the kindness of others was conditional. But, upon gazing, she relented and return the gesture and grasped her spiritual kin's hands lightly. A sign of wary trust in this other person.

“Mohina works,” She spoke softly, “It is the only name I have known. Nobody has given me a nickame. Perhaps I have kept myself too out of trouble.”

She was snapped out of her conversation by the sound of another's approach. An older woman, who came off to the half-Mirialan as matronly and wise. She addressed herself as the along awaited Mother Askani. Mohina folded her hands into the sleeves of her robes, and bowed her head to the elder.

“We are honored to have you join us, Mother.” She responded solemnly, “Many of us are eager to learn from your wisdom.”

She followed the Mother into the inner recesses of the temple, per her request. Mohina listened expectantly as Askani laid the foundations of what her teachings would be. She was eager, anxious, and curious. It had been some time since she been formally taught something new. Outside of basic techniques from her fellow Order of Shiraya and Daughters.

Tova smirked with the realisation of just what she would nickname Mohina if she were ever in trouble. But it was not time to share this with her as Mother Askani arrived. Instead, Tova's face became neutral once more, regaining that well trained poise of the Daughters.

White tresses fell over her face as she bowed slightly to the newly arrived elder woman. Tova scooped her hair back into place with a demure smile. "Greetings, Mother Askani. I am Tova. This is Mohina," she said with hand gestures towards self and then Mohina.

Tova fell into step behind Mohina, offering deference to the elder woman too.

"We proudly take this first step into our past...so that we may embrace our future, Mother Askani," Tova said as she entered the meditation chamber. It was of a minimalist design, so far as Naboo did anything minimalist. The pillars were kept at a fairly basic level of detail, and the floor tiling only made use of three colours to depict a small scene from ancient Naboo lore.

"Please. Sit if you wish," nova said, indicating towards some cushions.
