The temple in Lake Country was filled with the sweet scent of honey blossoms that wafted in from the open rolling hills outside. It was an airy temple. Open and hospitable. It was one of Tova's favourite places on a world full of favourites.
Dressed her normal pure white, simple cotton attire of her order, she sat crosslegged on a cushion amidst a floor that was a tile mosaic of the goddess Shiraya. It had been a good time of meditation. She felt connected to Naboo and its people. She felt alive. For the first time in weeks she had been able to rid herself to he slowly growing feeling of doom that accompanied thoughts of her departure from this world and its people.
Her presence here had a point though. She had been chosen for the first round of training with a newcomer to Naboo. Along with another Daughter, one whom Tova was unfamiliar, they were going to learn from this newcomer an ability that could unlock the Daughter's true potential.
It was a thrilling prospect. One that made Tova more excited than she had been for some time. The rumour was that this ability would grant them access to the memories of their ancestors. Tova had been chosen primarily for the voices she might be able to access from the women in her line. Several of them held roles of distinction not just among the Daughters but in government and aristocracy as a whole. The secrets they could unlock could be revolutionary.
She stood upon hearing footsteps, and turned to the newcomer. She bowed her head just slightly. "Always remember. Never again," she said, speaking the familiar mantra of the Daughters of the Scar.
