SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Multipurpose design: allowing the ship to be refitted in a very short period of time to serve different purposes. Can be used as a transport vessel, a medical frigate, a humanitarian aid frigate or as a diplomatic transport.

  • Large Hangar capacity: the Ambassador-class can be used as a carrier vessel for shuttles and Med Sprinters, to enable the Order to deploy a large amount of ship-to-surface supply vessels, and therefore coordinate a considerable relief effort.

  • Advanced Medical Bay: due to the use of the ship as a medical frigate, certain configurations of the Ambassador-class come with a state-of-the-art Medical facility aboard, able to provide high levels of intensive emergency care to those who require it, as well as coordinate larger planetary-based medical efforts from orbit.

  • Advanced Navigational Systems: due to the use of the ship as a humanitarian aid frigate, every configuration is equipped with advanced navigational systems to assist the ship in it’s mission to provide humanitarian aid.

STRENGTHS

  • Multipurpose: the Ambassador-class is designed to serve a number of purposes within The Jedi Order. These purposes include humanitarian aid, medical assistance, search & rescue and diplomatic missions. It has a number of different configurations that allows it to complete a number of different tasks with ease.

  • Large Hangar Bay: due to the purpose-built function as a carrier vessel, the Ambassador-class has a larger-than-average hanger size, capable of storing medical vehicles, shuttles and even small personal transports. However, these hangars are mostly intended for unarmed vehicles, and are not equipped to supply and outfit starfighters.
WEAKNESSES

  • Unarmed: the Ambassador-class is designed purely for humanitarian efforts and diplomatic use, and therefore remains wholly unarmed in terms of ship-to-ship weapons technology. It is therefore entirely vulnerable and dependent upon escort ships for protection.

  • Expensive: although the Ambassador-class is not equipped with expensive weapons technology and the power generators needed to keep them functional, it nonetheless costs a considerable amount due to the modular nature of the vessel and the medical equipment required for the Order to operate effectively in the field.

  • Limited Crew Quarters: with space at a premium due to the presence of on-board operating theatres, storage bays and the hangar decks, crew quarters are much smaller than would normally be found on a vessel of this size, and many of the crew are expected to share quarters rather than have their own individual cabins. This naturally makes the Ambassador-class less useful for long missions, though these can be adjusted to provide larger cabins in the diplomatic setup (with the medical facilities reduced to minimal levels).

  • Mission-specific modularity: the modular nature of the Ambassador-class require that the ship be selectively outfitted for mission-specific functions, and cannot therefore serve in too many capacities at once. Such would require a vessel of much larger size.
DESCRIPTION

With the Jedi Order moving to focus on humanitarian efforts, the need for a larger vessel suited to their needs arose, and resulted in the design of the Ambassador-class Multipurpose Frigate. Designed by royal engineers based on Commenor at the behest of their King [member="Veiere Arenais"], the Ambassador-class has been designed to fill many different roles based on the needs of the Jedi using it: to serve as an advanced Medical vessel, replete with complex scanners, life-saving equipment, on-board operating surgical theatres and recovery rooms; as a diplomatic room with large conference rooms and appropriate guest quarters for high-level functionaries; and as a carrier vessel, capable of conveying a large number of space-to-ground shuttles to enable the dissemination of relief supplies to beleaguered worlds.

In keeping with the Jedi mandate of remaining demilitarised, the Ambassador-class is wholly unarmed, and all ships of her class are equipped with transponders that will broadcast their status along with standard IFF frequencies, to inform other vessels of their neutral status. Their role is not to engage in battle, nor carry vessels likely to do so, but rather to serve as a mobile base of operations for the humanitarian efforts of the Order on planets around the Galaxy. Should they enter dangerous territory, they will likely require an escort from armed ships capable of defending them, but carry no such technologies of their own, save for basic shield generators adequate to their size.

A hangar of 3 squadrons for a frigate would be extreme, 2 is very high. If you drop the hangar from 3 to 2 this will be good to go, but in order to keep it at 3 you will need to either drop production to semi-unique or compensate in some other way, such as dropping one of your other ratings from average to very low.
