- Structural Steel: A Tisyium bar can support loads hundreds of times heavier than itself, making it an excellent option for building the structure of a capital ship, space station, or fortifications.
- Resillient: Tisyium alloy’s high density and durability give it respectable resistance to conventional firearms, soundwaves, and corrosive elements.
- Natural Conductor: Made entirely of electrical conductors, tisyium offers little resistance to the flow of electricity.
- Radiation Vulnerable: Tisyium alloy easily absorbs radioactive particles, which can linger within for months and make areas of a base dangerous to operate in.
If thaldonium is a capital ship’s skin, tisyium is its bones.
Designed to support the massive weight of capital ship armor, turbolasers, and internal modules, tisyium is the newest alloy to emerge from Alge Imperial’s engineering department. Unlike AISI’s earlier alloys, tisyium is designed explicitly as structural steel rather than armor plating. As a result, tisiyium boasts excellent load-bearing capabilities at the cost of resistance to sustained fire.
Like all of AISI’s alloy projects, tisiyum was developed to save costs that would otherwise be spent on purchasing alloys from other corporations. Instead, Alge Imperial can purchase cheaper raw materials and smelt them into alloys at its own processing facilities, saving not only costs but also time that would have been spent on ordering imported alloys. Tisiyum also boasts superior load-bearing capabilities to durasteel or titanium, allowing shipbuilders to fit their vessels with more armor, weapons, and special modules than they would have otherwise been able to.
Like thaldonium, tisyium comes in a wide variety of standard and custom sizes and shapes. However, the most common and efficient use of tisiyum alloy is in the creation of long load-bearing T-bars. These bars can be scaled up to support the internal and external systems of any spacecraft from a corvette to a Super Star Destroyer without any change in their basic properties.
