Tilting at Windbags - Investigation of Bosph (note to TSC)

Two noble knights rode forth. @[member="Sopher Jacobs"] had that kind of a rep, and Boolon had done his best to cultivate the same. Seriousness of mind, unflinching drive, undaunted chastity.

The last was important. After all, they were hunting depraved Sith of dubious moral character, no doubt both promiscuous and degenerate and other suchlike words. Sicarius, Krest, had personally given the name of the planet Bosph to Boolon. No other information. Time to poke around.

The little unmarked freighter, pretty common in this neck of the woods, settled down onto a public landing pad. Its Ithorian pilot paid the docking fee and put up his brown burlap hood. Burlap. Only appropriate choice for Jedi robes.

"Shall we?"

Sopher had spent the entire ride staring out the small windows. He enjoyed flying through space and feeling how small he really was compared to everything. Nothing was said between them, Sopher had been debriefed when he decided to take up this mission. It was odd and he didn't know if he would get used to moving around the galaxy on his own without Daella's shadow looming over him. Still, even if the woman wasn't here the boy still continued to act in the fashion she had raised him. The freighter landed and Sopher stood strapping both of his lightsabers to his thighs. The utility belt remained unused and clung tightly to his hips. Foregoing the common Jedi clothing, the boy chose to wear just a short and a pair of fitted slacks that tucked neatly into his knee high boots. A short jacket donned his shoulders as he straighten it and left the ship.

"Boolon, I don't like the feel of this planet. It just pulsates with the Dark Side." He wasn't as in touch with the flow of the Force like his donor, but still at times he had his moments of excellence.

Boolon adjusted his burlap hood. These weren't Jedi robes, per se, but shapeless brown...well, no, they fit easily into the Jedi robe taxonomy, even if their cut and coloration lacked the professionalism that came with substantial government wardrobe subsidies.

"A planet is a planet, Sopher. Full of life, some innocent, some not, but the normal sins and foibles of mortality are not what we seek -- and we'd be hypocrites to hunt them. To cast a shadow over that amount of life requires great evil. We must be cautious."

One long-fingered hand gestured. "There's a market in that direction. The Dark Side has been known to cause fear or braggadocio. We may be able to sense them there."

Sopher looked towards the market, if the Sith were going to be hiding would it really be in the market. A hand rested against his chin as he pondered the thought, the Sith needed to eat and shop as well. His eyes looked towards the Ithorian that was at his side, the healer was something different - from his knowledge most didn't venture out this far. He would have to learn more about his companion as the time went on. Shrugging, his hands fell to his waist as he rolled his shoulders back. This was the boring part of the war on the Sith.

"Despite the planet being just a planet, it still harbors the scars of those that control it. What do you make of planets like Korriban?"

"Korriban...Korriban would be difficult. Korriban is a dead world, or near enough, its few life-forms carefully twisted to suit an agenda. But feel the life of this market, of this world. No matter how carefully a Dark Lord seeks to hide his presence, or make it difficult to find within the region -- that's called Force scattering -- he will always leave a wake. You can track the greatest stealth master in the galaxy by the fear he inspires in large concentrations of people. Fear, or greed. This market is on a central road near a starport. It's possible we may feel the traces of such a wake."

As they moved into the market, Boolon's eyes half-lidded. "It's well-hidden, but I feel a wake. It's possible for a Sith to rule worlds without fear, but the odds of that happening are vanishingly small. It would take a creative Sith, or one committed to the long game, like Sidious. Yes. Yes, I believe there's a wake here, and my instincts tell me we need to leave, now."

They made their way back to the ship, where Boolon commed in a quick report to give some clarity, a partial confirmation of Krest's findings. They left.
