Till Death Do Us Part

She waited with bated breath, pushing it down to steady her aim as she heard Zenneth's footsteps grow increasingly louder. Leliana knew the blow wouldn't have been too debilitating, enough to either force him to remain grounded or push him into a pursuit.

The fact she could hear his approach meant he wasn't just going to lay there and take it. Sure, Leliana could've just slashed at his achilles and left him to crawl - he certainly wouldn't have been capable of getting anywhere in time. But that was a half measure, Leliana wanted to make sure he wouldn't get back from this.

Eliminate even the slightest change he could somehow escape his fate.

"We trusted you. We loved you. You were our family!"

Oh, she could hear the sheer anger in his voice. And if Leliana weren't so focused on her mission, she probably would've enjoyed hearing it, along with the pained gasps as Zenneth walked.

"I have no family." The words were devoid of any emotion, as Leliana's finger pulled the trigger and fired at the explosives.

Zenneth was caught right within its blast. It shook the surrounding area, and no doubt alerted the Overseers that something else was going on. Leliana discarded the rifle and grabbed the bag once more, immediately running away and to the meeting point.

At this point she was supposed to have had the explosives set, but with the droid and Zenneth getting in the way - it had taken longer than planned. Now she was suppose to meet up with Nagajj, but it seemed they would have to make a slight detour before heading to the hangar.

However, as Leliana sprinted onwards; entering the designated hallway, she felt something off. The Force screamed across her senses, alerting her to-

She turned around, finding a single figure; Darth Ophidia, standing where she had just been a moment ago, having slipped from the shadows. Leliana immediately went for her dagger, until she realized it wasn't there. Destroyed along with Zenneth in the explosion, and to Leliana's credit, she didn't curse. Instead she frowned, feeling a familiar presence in the figure standing before her.

Then it clicked.

"You're Nagajj."

The deed was done, and it was time for the big reveal and acquisition of her new apprentice. She slipped from the shadow behind Leliana, a critical moment. Would she recognise her? She saw Leliana go for a weapon, but find nothing. Good. Half-a-breath pause. before the apprentice understood who she was.

Darth Ophidia nodded calmly and reached out a gloved hand towards Leliana.

"She is I, and we are so much more."

Her unblinking eyes burned like embers in a face of ash.

"Come, there is much yet to do."

Leliana remained paused in that moment, which in any other time would've been a mistake - and likely saw her attacked or even killed. But the realization had frozen her in place, getting confirmation that the snake; Nagajj and the person before were one in the same.

It didn't make sense, and yet at the same time it did.

"She is I, and we are so much more."

That certainly didn't help much, by cryptics were not something she had time to dawdle on.

Nor could see really get a good luck at the woman. The hood concealed her face aside from the amber eyes that contrasted against her ash grey skin.

Instead, Leliana nodded and followed Ophidia as they continued on.

"I still need to plant the explosives."

The power generators weren't too far away, but with the premature explosion earlier would no doubt have alerted the Overseers to something being amiss.

"Your overseers will be here soon."

The ashen skinned woman stepped to the side, allowing Leliana to pass.

"You better get on with it."

And while Leliana set the charges, Darth Ophidia made sure their exit would be clean. The overseers coming out would have been a problem, but not one they could not handle. Leliana looked up to these persons, but they were far from the power of true Sith yet.

She would learn
