Special Features:
- Extra Powered Engines: Along with the two standard Twin Ion Engines seen in most TIE Fighters, the Trespasser A has an additional four Howlback-XII-Ion-Engines mounted between the ball cockpit and the solar panel wings in triangular modules. The provides the Trespasser A with immense linear and non-linear speed compared to any other TIE Fighter.
- Droid Slot: The back of the Trespasser has been elongated to provide a droid docking pod for BB-9E droids for piloting assistance. Like the model it was based on, the TIE/SF Conqueror, the BB-9E can connect to the Trespasser’s HUD display and provide tactical assistance.
- Armored Cockpit: Instead of the iconic transparasteel front of most TIE fighters the Trespasser A has a fully closed reinforced titanium cockpit ball. The Trespasser A instead uses a series of five external cameras (three in front and two in the back), slotted into 360 rotating small turrets, to feed external images to the cockpit’s HUD.
- Hyperdrive: Unlike the standard TIE's this fighter is equipped with a Hyperdrive thanks to the two extra engines that are added to it.
- Life Support: The fighter is equipped with a life support system, and is able to keep the pilot alive for much longer than standard TIEs.
- Electronic Countermeasures: The Trespasser A is equipped with one Short Range Sensor Jammer which utilizes a Dedicated Energy Receptor Projector to fool and virtually avoid sensor targeting during dogfights and close-range encounters. The Trespasser also has Chaff and Flare launchers to be released from the back to fool incoming guided missiles.
Strengths:
+ High Speed and High Maneuverability
+ Electronic Countermeasures/Hard to Track
Weaknesses:
- Original TIE Conqueror Weakness Remaining:
Light Shielding and armor: Although it is equipped with deflector shields, if it is under constant fire like all TIE Fighters it is able to be destroyed easily.
Fragile Solar Panels: If one of the wings are damaged it could send the ship spiraling out of control killing the pilot.
Description:
Building off of the TIE/SF Conqueror design, the Trespasser A is the first in an experimental design to be deployed into active service. The new design is to provide a high mobility, high efficiency special operations interceptor model for the newly developed Special Operations Starfighter Wing. In particular the, 3rd Squadron of the Wing which will be tasked with SEAS Operations (Suppression of Enemy Air Space). Such a task will demand a fast, hard to track, and manoeuvrable starfighter during operations deep within enemy patrolled and defended air/atmo space. To achieve this, the Trespasser A has been fitted with 4 extra engines for greater thrust through the newly developed Howlback XII MKIII ion engines.
Another necessity of the battlefield will be quick entrances and exits, thus, the Trespasser is fitted with an upgraded Class 1.0 Hyperdrive. However, the design over emphasises speed and firepower. Many of the flaws of the Conqueror were retained meaning that a particularly daredevil in nature pilot is required to properly bring out the full potential of the Trespasser-A.
