  • Bite: A vast array of weapons mean there is no fighter it has no chance against save the most cutting edge defenses
  • Go anywhere: Can be completely underwater for long persiods of time and remain operable when retrieved
WEAKNESSES
  • S Foil Weakness: In order to achieve its fastest speed possible, its s foils must contract, and it cannot fire its weapons in this state. It's agility also drops by one rating, which can be a problem
  • Ion: It's outdated electronics leave it highly vulnerable to modern Ion weapons
  • Easily Jammed: It's outdated Electronics means its sensors can be easily jammed if someone gets a good lock
  • Weak defense: Can take a few hits more than most TIE fighters, but that isn't saying much.
DESCRIPTION

The TIE Hunter was developed by the Galactic Empire to combat Rebel Alliance Interceptors, in particular, the T-65 X-Wing and the RZ-1 A-WIng. At the time of its introduction, with its inclusion of a Class 1 Hyperdrive (Some variants are sometimes found with Class 2 Hyperdrives) and shields, it ran completely counter to the Imperial Mindset of quantity over quality, and presented a very serious danger to the Alliance. Indeed, had the Empire been bolder and manufactured the Hunter in greater amounts the Rebellion might have ended very differently. But sometimes life has its little bonuses, like the paranoia of tyrants to mess their own effort up.

Vintage Hunters are rare---most never showed up again in large amounts after a certain point. Most modern Hunters encountered are reproductions, flown by nostalgic collectors and even some Sith Lords longing for simpler times. But just because it's a relic does not mean its not capable of absolutely devastating performance, especially in the hands of a master pilot. Curiously, despite its obvious strengths, the design has not undergone the same level of proliferation other fighter designs have, due to its sadly relative obscurity in comparison to more famous models created by Sienar Fleet Systems, which is a shame, because this thing really is a killer of Rebel Scum.
