Description:

The TI-A4 Blaster Rifle is the standard issue blaster of the Terminus Imperium Forces, however it is not used in mass by all units. Its durability and continued flexibility provided by its under slung modular component socket make it a favored blaster by many multipurpose units, security forces, local militias, etc etc. The Underslung Modular Component Socket is much like a picatinny rail, in that it permits the individual utilizing the blaster to expand their combat role through the addition of various weapons. These weapons can include Fletchet Launchers, Grenade Launchers, and numerous individual components to better increase the weapons accuracy or combat capabilities.

The positioning of the firing trigger is designed to be an ergonomical grip with comfort of the individual in mind. This design is also an attempt to ensure that the widest range of species are capable of using the weapon without a new weapon design or it being replaced by another similar weapon. Its short and compact status is a favored feature among many whom are often in close range firefights, however its size being larger than that of a more compact carbine or similar blaster means that it is highly ineffective in CQC beyond being used as a rudimentary club. The stock of the weapon is padded, with an internal recoiling dampener to provide for more comfortable firing.

Much of its strengths reside in the components that are directly used as an aid for its operator. Its tri-beam laser sight system is meant to provide for a more accurate range when used in combination with the blaster's tactical sight. Many of its disadvantages however are caused by those systems that make it a worth while weapon. Its laser sight system, as well as its round readout system can allow an enemy to pinpoint the individual operator's location through its soft glow. The readout system also emits a low buzzing noise followed by a loud click to inform its operator that the power pack needs to be replaced. This can permit an enemy to wait for a lull in the firing of an individual whom is reloading to take advantage.

Its greatest weakness comes in its "spray and pray" firing setting. While the weapon operates in top form with its single shot burst and semi-automatic settings, it can easily become overheated in its fully automatic setting. This alone can be enough to cause the weapon to seize up as internal components overheat, or otherwise combust in its operator's hands.

This is an exceptionally well written submission.

I'm more than happy to stamp this, but for an effective main blaster rifle for troops, i'd suggest moving the range up to 500m or so
