OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To provide a basic combat stimulant

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  • Classification: Stimulant
  • Method of Consumption: oral tablet, injection
  • Average Life: 6 hours
  • Nutritional Value/Allergies/Side Effects/ Purpose: No significant nutritional value. Patients who are allergic to Thyssell trees or Tachs might experience allergic reactions, but the more common side effects include temporarily increases in blood pressure and pulse rates. Overdosing or too frequent use of ThyssTac can lead to paranoia, psychosis, and/or suicidal thoughts. ThysselTac is fairly typical stimulant that's primarily notable for its efficient pharmacokinetic design that leads to an unusually stable trough levels in the user's blood stream. This leads to remarkably consistent stimulating effects on the user. Low doses enhance a user's ability to concentrate, keep the user mentally alert, and elevate a user's mood in a manner similar to a strong cup of caf, except in a more portable and less tasty form. In high doses, ThysselTac can be a potent combat stim, increasingly a person's observational abilities while drastically decreasing reaction times and the effects of general fatigue.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Stimulant: ThyssTac is an excellent stimulant whose use can be easily tailored from casual use in prolonged academic studying to intense combat use by simply scaling up the dose, regardless of the route chosen.
  • Mood Enhancer: Some of Thyssel tree bark's natural euphoric effects remain in ThyssTac, and it seems to noticeably improve a user's mood even in dire and unpleasant situations. Lucerne Biological Systems has attempted to tailor this effect to help counteract the negative effects of enemy battle meditation and similar applications of "fear"-based Force techniques with some (but not complete) success.
  • Multiple Routes: ThyssTac comes in injectable form, ideal for quick and easy combat application, or oral tablet form for easy convenience in more casual settings.
STRENGTHS
  • Scaleable Stimulant: ThyssTac can be easily increased in dose to get different effects more appropriate for different settings as described above.
  • Force Buffer: ThyssTac's ability to keep mood elevated and increasing mental acuity means that it can act as a partial counter for Force powers that aim to degrade the user's ability to fight.
WEAKNESSES
  • Too much of a good thing: ThyssTac has some fairly severe overdose effects that can permanently affect a careless user.
DESCRIPTION

Stimulants have become one of the more common drugs in the galaxy, as users constantly look for the next edge in their arenas or simply to survive the rigors of their field. ThyssTac is Lucerne Biological System's entry into this crowded market but one that has been specifically engineered as a combat stim for soldiers and spacers. Most users have been pleasantly surprised by the consistency that ThyssTac provides, especially compared to cheaper stims - ThyssTac's effects occur within a matter of seconds and remain fairly stable for hours afterwards before gradually and gently returning the user's abilities to normal. Users also often comment favorably on ThyssTac's ability to consistently elevate mood, describing it as the right happy medium where it noticeably relaxes the user enough to not be jittery or scared, while at the same time not being overpowering enough to degrade their own physical or mental abilities. Despite these perceptions among its users, ThyssTac does not appear to be the breakout economic success that Lucerne Biological Systems had hoped it would be. However, it is still fairly competitive, and it can often be found in the medpacs of lightside-oriented organizations, notably becoming fairly common within the service of the Antarian Rangers.
