Thunder! Thunder! ThunderKhan HO!

Taeli was meditating within the Sith Temple, allowing the dark side to wash over her while she waited. An acolyte had requested she show them a thing or two, and she had happily obliged. It would seem she was becoming quite known for being willing to teach.

She wondered what exactly this [member="Khan Ra"] was interested in learning first. She had caught sight of him once or twice, and had heard what he had done in battle for the Sith, but this would be their first face-to-face meeting.

Khan strode through the endless hallways of the Sith Temple, making his way to the meditation chamber where he was to meet [member="Darth Arcanix"]. He had been seeking a trainer, someone to make him stronger. He could not do that himself- as much as he hated it, he needed external assistance. So he turned to a Sith Lord he has heard by reputation, one that would be willing to teach him.

There was a long list of what he wished to learn... But much of that would have to wait. For now he had his mind set on a single ability; one known to cripple Jedi. One that Darth Arcanix knew, and hopefully would be willing to teach him; Lightning.

[member="Khan Ra"]

"So I heard you wanted to learn something from me," Taeli said, turning around as Khan arrived in the chamber she been sitting in. For some reason, she felt the need to yell his name in rage or something, but she suppressed it.

"How can I help you, my friend?" she asked, tilting her head curiously at him. Something about him was . . . different, and if what had heard from recent battles was true, he had a hidden skill for his species that was very intriguing.

[member="Darth Arcanix"]

Khan nodded. She seemed willing enough. Perhaps he would leave her with a new ability added to his skill set. "I'm here to learn Lightning." It was simply easier to skip pleasentries, not to waste time. She didn't seem like much, so far, but he'd heard of her, and new of her reputation of a Sith lord- plus he knew better than to judge by appearances. He supposed he wouldn't seem like much either... Khan smiled slightly, before pulling himself from his thoughts. "When can we start?"

[member="Khan Ra"]

"I suppose we can start now," she replied, shrugging a bit and closing her eyes for a moment. Opening them again, they were yellow with the power of the dark side as she allowed her full power to be felt.

"To learn Force lightning effectively, one must experience it firsthand, feel its touch upon them," she explained, her hand rising slowly. Normally, this wasn't her usual training method . . . but she felt it was called for in this man's case. "Once you feel it, you will know how to bend and shape the dark side to create the energy needed to produce the lightning. Since you're so eager though . . ."

She trailed off as a brilliant bolt of blue and purple lightning lanced from her finger tips towards Khan Ra.

Khan's eyes grew wide as he felt the sudden surge in the force, quickly followed by a controlled blast of bright purple and blue light. And then pain. Pain, pain, all around him. It felt as if the flesh was being melted off his bones. Why didn't it stop? The Felactian tried to pull the force to him, tried to shield himself, but obviously he couldn't while being turned into fried chicken. All he could see was the bright light, flashing in his eyes, threatening to knock him into unconsciousness. Not only was the lightning working to rip him away from conciousness, he felt something familiar tearing at the corner of his mind... Like something wanting out. A loud snarl, a warning that managed to be heard over the crackling of lightning, hinted at what was coming.

(That escalated quickly... :p)

(well . . . surprise helps :p )

Just as [member="Khan Ra"] was about to fall unconscious, Taeli lifted the lightning and smiled at the Felactian. He had experienced a small taste of the lightning that was one of the most iconic Sith powers, but now it would remain to be seen whether or not he could channel that energy himself.

"My apologies for the abruptness of that," she said, smiling pleasantly again, her eyes purple again and her Force presence pulled back within herself. "Surprise tends to keep the mind more open to the process, more able to feel the pain and energy better instead of trying to analyze it at the time. So, now that you've experienced it, to call upon it yourself, you need only draw your power to you and dredge that feeling back into your mind of how it felt. Once that's done, channel it along your arm and out your fingers, and expect some smoking and charring to occur as you learn it."

She knew from when she learned the technique how weak and damaging using Lightning could be until one had the hang of it.

Just before something messy started to happen, the lightning lifted. A panting and abruptly exhausted Khan sat there on hands and knees, struggling to catch his breath. Honestly, Khan was surprised he had stayed conscious... It took another minute before Khan had gathered enough of his strength back to stand, after hearing what [member="Darth Arcanix"] had to say. Her idea of teaching was to try and kill him?! Khan closed his eyes for a moment, attempting to calm himself. He was here to learn- whether his teacher was a physcopath or not. Despite the smell of burnt fur still being in the air, Khan attempted to call on the force. He wanted to inflict that pain he had felt on others... At the moment he wanted to inflict it on her , but he doubted that would be sucessful... Perhaps in the future. For now he did as he was told, calling on the force to mimic what he had been assaulted by moments before. He was exghausted, still in residual pain from the strike, but he was determined. There had to be said something for that. The force surged along his arms, trying to spark into something stronger, trying to take a form. A fresher scent of burnt hair came from the short fur on his hands. He kept his mind on the image that had been burnt into his mind minutes before; flashing purple and blue light. Tiny sparks of light began to appear around his fingertips...

(Building up to it instead of going ULTIMATE POWAAA. :p)

"Almost there, now try and unleash that pent up power over there," she instructed. She might have been a tad harsher than she needed to be, but she hadn't even unleashed the full power of her lightning on him so he was in no danger of dying.

Still, this [member="Khan Ra"] was a very interesting specimen, and she had to give him points for the sheer determination he was showing as he tried to summon his first sparks of lightning. She wondered if he would attack her with it, but doubted it.

Khan was focused intently on the sparks appearing around his hands. The short fur there was beginning to visibly burn away. He willed them to take form, to become more then sparks, to become the deadly beams [member="Darth Arcanix"] was capable of releasing. He could sense he was close- the Dark Side of the Force pulsed around his hands, covering each spark. They just needed a little push.... The Acolyte focused, visulized tendrils of lightning bursting forth from his fingertips...

The sparks eventually took form, became brighter, stronger, changing to a slightly darker shade. Khan called the force through his arms, into his fingers... And finally, the sparks evolved into a flash of light and smell of burning as bright blue shot forwards to the ground between Khan and Arcanix. Closer to her feet that then area she had designated, but still not close enough to do any harm even if his lightning was strong enough to. The Felactian looked visibly fatigued after his comparatively tiny display- but pleased. No matter how short lived, he had created lightning.

[member="Khan Ra"]

"An excellent first attempt," Taeli said, smiling at the pupil in front of her. He might need to work on his aim a bit, but practice made perfect after all. Although perfect practice made perfect would be a better phrase.

"Now, you may be fatigued by that, but I want you to try again and try to be a little faster with pulling on the power," she instructed. "You're gonna have to push past that fatigue right now, or else one shock will leave you feeling . . . disappointed in the long run."

[member="Darth Arcanix"]

Khan frowned. She wanted him to do it again? Between Arcanix's display earlier and his own he was exhausted. However, she was actually right. He would not have time in a battle to waste minutes on summoning lightning. It had to be quicker.

Without a word, Khan again focused. He visulized the same bright blue firing from his fingertips, the Dark Side forming into eletricity for him to use. The smell of burnt fur returned, this time abruptly accompanied by sparks. Khan was exhausted, he could've easily fallen asleep if he wished to, but instead he summoned the force around his arms, into his hands.

Much quicker then the first time, bright blue lightning shot from his fingertips, hitting the ground in front of him once more. Again, it ended shortly, but one did not need much lightning to stop a heart, did they? Khan's mind swam for a moment, the fatigue of using the unpracticed and energy draining power catching up to him. However, he stayed standing, still managing a satisfied grin.

[member="Khan Ra"]

"Excellent," Taeli said, noting the satisfied grin but the exhaustion forming rapidly in his body language. "Take a minute or two to refocus yourself, and if you feel up to it, we will try one more time. It is a bit exhilarating once the exhaustion passes, to twist and bend the Force to your own will and unleashing it upon your foes."

Coming over, she delicately took his hands in hers and pulled out a small bacta spray to help with the charred and seared skin on his hands.

"This should help a bit," she said, putting the spray on his hands. "I might be a tough teacher, but one does not allow their apprentices to wallow in injury during training if they can avoid it."

[member="Darth Arcanix"]

Khan supressed a flinch as Arcanix applied the bacta spray. He didn't trust her. However, she was useful. As long as she didn't try to electrocute him again she was helping Khan with his own goals; increasing his power. He hadn't quite noticed the pain in his hands, the mixture of adrenaline and exhaustion had dulled it, until the bacta began to treat it. She wanted him to try again...?

Khan stared at his teacher for a moment, but eventually gave a quiet nod. Very well. The more practice the better he woul become at it- and he needed to learn how to utilize the ability while fatigued... The Felactian closed his eys for a moment, forcing away the fatigue, focusing on the Dark Side once more. It came easier this time, faster. Almost immediately the Dark Side surged around his hands, preparing itself. Almost as if it wanted to be shaped, to be turned into a deadly force. Though still requiring concentration, visualization, it came much quicker this time... Lightning sparks building around his fingertips momentarily, arcing between his fingers. It made his head swim again, just the sparks. He was exghausted. However, he pushed himself further. He surged the darkside forwards, encouraging the sparks like one would blow on coals.

And much as blowing on coals to spark a flame, the electric sparks burst forwardds with streams of blue light, deadly blue light that arced forwards before splaying off to a wall and dissipating. Khan's vision went dark momentarily, an he could feel himself start to fall, but he was able to catch himself. He was visibly exghausted, attempting such a powerful manuver not one but three times- directly after being hit by it himself, no less. However, he had still managed it; three times.

[member="Khan Ra"]

"Very good, Khan, very good indeed," she said, her voice calm and soothing. "I really do apologize for pushing you this hard, you don't need to try more lightning again until you feel well rested and re-energized."

She made sure he would feel the sincerity in her voice and Fore presence, she normally didn't do the harsh task master, but some Force abilities required it. He wouldn't trust her of course, he was a Sith, but then she wasn't looking for trust from him. All she wanted was to make sure he had learned the basics of the technique and could sue that in whatever endeavor he had planned.

"Here," she said, handing him a nutrient bar and a cup of tea. "These should help you get some of your strength back, the tea is a special herbal blend that gets rid of fatigue and empowers you ever so slightly. I know you don't trust me, we're Sith after all, but if you ever want more training, you can come seek me out. Just want you to know that."

[member="Darth Arcanix"]

Khan raised his eyebrows as Arcanix apologized for pushing him... Why did she care? Hm. She seemed sincere, however. The Felactian looked down to his hand, wehre all the short fur was burned away, though the Bacta was getting to work. They would heal. And he would practice this... It would be useful in the long run.

Khan blinked as Arcanix produced an enegry bar and a cup of tea seemingly out of nowhere. He took both, somewhat hesitantly, however he tucked the bar away for later and sniffed the tea several times for any trace of poison or other undesirable substances. However, there was nothing as far as he could tell... Slowly, he took a small sip, almost spilling it due to his burned hands. After a moment, his head finally stopping it's spinning, Khan nodded. She seemed sincere with her last comment as well- to return to her for further training... He would keep her in mind.

(Most polite Sith ever. :p Was a fun thread! I look forward to whenever we do another. :D)
