News of the Empire’s victory over the High Republic on Thyferra came not long after Revna had withdrawn from the frontlines with her prisoner in tow and returned to the safety of the Vindicator of Faith. The Republic’s defense line broke, their forces retreating and the Sith moved in to further claim the planet, though Revna was hearing whispers that pockets of resistance had risen up but were being rooted out by various Sith forces. Republic banners were torn down and the Eleventh Sith Empire’s flag was raised to signify their bloody takeover.

The Bacta now belonged to the Sith, but victory hadn’t come without its cost.

Reports of casualties began to flood the communication lines - including the Sith Empress, Srina Talon - shot by a Jedi and barely clinging to life. Furthermore, she heard reports from her fellow Wonosan Brothers and Sisters that her own Father had been involved in the fighting elsewhere, alongside A’Mia and Lina. She had heard a rumor that one of her family members had been killed, but the rumor couldn’t be verified yet. That news made Revna pace in her meditation chamber, stress squeezing her heart in a most uncomfortable manner. She reached out through the Force to touch upon the bonds she had with others, and found that one was absent.

Lina.

That wasn’t all unusual, as the Sith sorceress had taken a habit of venturing into the Netherworld quite often, but something about the rumor and not being able to sense Lina at all really and truly bothered Revna.

A chime within her meditation chamber alerted her to the presence of a crewmember seeking audience with her beyond the sealed door. With her thoughts still running rampant and uncertainty clinging to her heart, the Sith Knight stepped across and opened the door with a soft hiss and was greeted by a middle aged man in the black and gold uniform the Vindicator staff wore.

Forgive the disturbance, my Lady. The prisoner is beginning to show signs of waking from her coma.

About fething time~

Very good. Thank you for the update.” Revna replied, speaking kindly to the man who gave her a short bow before turning away and moving off to attend to other matters. Revna left the meditation chamber behind and as she moved towards the medical ward, she compiled her emotions and filed them away for the time being. She wanted to have a clear head when dealing with the Lightwalker, and while emotions were a powerful tool for a Sith - they had their place and time.

The journey to the ward took a few moments, but the Sith woman eventually arrived at the proper wing and was greeted by the guards who had been posted outside the medical chamber’s door. With respectful tilts of their heads, the two stepped aside and Revna pressed her palm to the bioscan reader beside the door, and heard the distinct sounds of heavy locks disengaging before the door slid open with a soft hiss.

The black and silver haired Vahla stepped inside the chamber that held the Lightwalker, the door sealing shut behind her as she stepped further into the interior. Ember eyes settled upon the figure who was connected to monitors reading her vitals. An IV supplied fluids and nutrients; the Jedi had been on death’s door when Revna had returned to her ship, but she seemed to be on the mend, though she wasn’t out of the woods just yet.

Look who is finally waking up from her nap…” the Sith woman rumbled as a faint smirk tugged at the corner of her kohl dabbed lips. She had cleaned up since the Jedi last saw her; a fresh change of clothes (a deep black Sith robe that bore red and gold threaded sigils and markings along the hems) and the gash on her forehead had been treated, the blood on her face and in her hair washed away. It would scar, but it was just one of many that criss-crossed Revna’s body. Her presence in the Force, though present and certainly dark, was muted and softened - as if she was burying it. The Jedi might also notice that she was not bound or chained to her medical bed. There were no Force suppression cuffs on her or anything to hinder her from reaching into the source of her strength if she so chose to.

Darth X'aviera certainly hoped the Jedi wouldn't be so foolish as to try and attack her while still lying on a medical bed. She did not fancy the idea of being forced to terminate the Jedi after expending ship and medical resources on keeping her alive.

Welcome aboard the Vindicator, Lightwalker.

Consciousness came in degrees. Mainly because there was an infernal, annoying beep, beep, beep waking her up.

All confusing at first, the sort one gets after being sick for a week and finally getting over that cold. Yet what registered under that fog was something that Zaiya had come to recognize as essential to her as breathing -- it was the Force.

It fluttered about her awareness in a dizzying wash of life and emotion, a welcome boon after the horrible emptiness on Thyferra that for a few seconds, Zaiya's breath caught and she simply lay there with her eyes closed, feeling it swirl and float about her as if she were floating on a sea of that intangible energy.

And there, right there, beneath everything else and as familiar as her own heartbeat, came the resonating pulse from the necklace resting against her chest.

Aris.

That aching warmth of reassurance at his presence flooded through Zaiya with a sense of utter relief that pinpricks tickled her eyes. He was there, she could feel him. Somewhere far away, but there. A medley concoction of worry, concern, determination thrummed along their connection strongly enough that Zaiya almost wanted to laugh and cry simultaneously.

He is looking for me, she thought to herself, instinctively sending the sort of sensation that would provide reassurance that the connection had been reestablished -- at least until the fog that had coated her mind seemed to ebb as memories took its place.

Of Thyferra, the fight with the other Sith woman, the Force suddenly disappearing amidst the fight -- I don't want to kill you.

Wait -- it was in that instant that Zaiya's eyes snapped open. Where am I?!

Alarm exploded through her and Zaiya shot upright... which honestly was a terrible idea.

"Uuugh..." the Lovalla knight uttered out, the room immediately seeming to perform several very impressive circles around her. Her bioluminescence went completely haywire, mottled spots flashing through confused grey, alarmed yellow, bewildered orange before settling into a violently queasy lime green.

Zaiya promptly flopped back onto the bed and covered her face.

"Okay. Nope." Nope nope nope. Everything spun.

Her thoughts were hardly better. Emotions washed against her empathic senses from beyond the unfamiliar room, making her newly restored awareness feel almost painfully crowded after that terrible silence. Yet her colors were colors again, rippling faintly beneath rosy-gold skin rather than the sickly muted grey they had become on Thyferra.

Then one presence cut through the confusion. A distinctly familiar darkness and flow of emotions. Wait, that voice --

Look who is finally waking up from her nap...

Zaiya slowly lowered her hands from her heartshaped face, opal blue eyes giving several blinks to clear away the blurry vision. Until finally, they settled upon the dark-maned visage of Revna.

The Lovalla's iridescent blue eyes widened before darting around the medical chamber. She took in the medical bay, the lack of restraints, and the distinct sound of air being recycled under the beeps of the medical monitors. Wait, was she on a ship?

Ever so slowly, Zaiya blinked at Revna, scrunched her face against the brightness of the room, and then decided to simply open one eye instead and focus on the woman.

"Umm..." she began, only for the soreness of her throat to cause her to cough to clear it. Once she could breathe without choking on air, a second eye slowly opened and blinked at Revna.

"... oh. Hi."

A pause. Then Zaiya added.

".... so-o....what is the Vindictor?"

Priorities of course. Like what and where was she. It was obvious she was on a ship... but where... and with whom.

The Lightwalker took a moment to actually register and respond to Revna’s presence and voice, hands that had been covering her face slowly falling away as those opal blue eyes blinked a few times as if to clear her vision.

A small half smirk slipped across Revna’s face as Jedi realized just who she was staring at, before her bright eyes zipped around the medical chamber. Was she looking for a way of escape? Any other dangerous beings in the same room? More moments ticked by, the Jedi scrunching up her face as if to ward off the bright lights that filled the room.

It took a while for her to even speak to Revna - but the Sith woman was patient. Eventually, the Jedi attempted to say something, but it dissolved into a short coughing fit.

"... oh. Hi." came the words after another pause, the colorful Jedi blinking once more at the Sith.

Don’t be too happy to see me.” Revna replied with another smirk, amusement dancing in her ember eyes.

".... so-o....what is the Vindictor?"

The Vindicator of Faith is my mobile base of operation and command, and is a part of the Order of Wonosa’s fleet.” Revna replied simply, choosing to move a little further into the medical room, albeit slowly so as not to disturb or scare the captive Jedi. She Force called a chair that was nearby towards her, the piece of furniture sliding across the floor with a scraping sound before the Sith Knight took her seat, keeping a respectful distance from the Jedi on the medical bed, but close enough for conversation. Revna crossed one leg over the other, and dropped her hands in her lap, tilting her head to one side as she regarded the Lightwalker before her. Now that she wasn’t wearing armor, the Jedi would see a myriad of Sith markings, sigils, and tattoos that marked areas of skin along Revna’s neck and hands. The black, spiderlike veins that spread from her eyes across her temples were more prominent now too.

It was touch and go there for a little bit. You were near death when I brought you to my medical staff. But…you seem to be recovering well enough. How are you feeling, now that you are awake?” Revna inquired softly, perhaps even a touch gently - almost as if she cared. A part of her did care, if entirely for selfish reasons. This Jedi intrigued her, and keeping her alive promised to be more entertaining than simply killing her.

After a short pause to collect her thoughts, the little Darth shifted her gaze back to the Jedi, before deciding to introduce herself, though it certainly carried risks to do so. Giving someone their name was handing a measure of power over to them.

My name is Revna of House Marr, by the way.”

She hoped the Jedi would feel inclined to share her name too - but Revna would not press for it.

I am sure you have a lot of questions, so feel free to ask any of them. I will do my best to answer them - within reason of course.

Order of Wonosa?

Amber curiosity shimmered through Zaiya's mottled spots as Revna explained, slowly regaining color over the silvery, muted tone of her skin. It would take a little bit of time, but slowly, the rosy golden tone would eventually shed the muted silver away.

Onto the more important matters -- like this Order of Wonosa. Honestly, she had absolutely no idea what that was. Nonetheless, Zaiya quietly listened anyways. ANd not only to Revna's words, either.

Now that the Lovalla had a connection to the Force again, that intangible energy floated around and about her again, carrying the subtle impressions of the young woman seated nearby. So as Revna told her more about the Vindicator, where she was, and more importantly, who she was, the more the young Lovalla's head would give a slight cant to the right as she studied Revna with those calm, but inquisitive opal blue eyes.

All of this combined told Zaiya quite a bit. As much as waking in a medical bed instead of a cell.

So she had been near death? HOnestly, that bit of fear of what she had felt back then had confirmed what she had been feeling when the Force had been taken away. It was no wonder everything felt like someone had picked her up, shaken her like a lemon fizz pop, and then put her back together, and she was feeling all the effervescent, confusing aches and pains with it.

There was more too. House Marr, huh. Zaiya's colorful brow scrunched, and her nose gave a little twitch.

Marr...Why did that sound familiar? Well, that thought would have to wait, because there was something far more important first.

"Thank you." Zaiya began, genuinely meaning them."For helping me." The Lovalla Knight told Revna, tiny ripples of turquoise and bronze ombres colors in relief went shimmering along her spots. Whatever else Revna was, whatever terrible things had happened between them on Thyferra, Zaiya had been right about one thing.

Revna had not wanted her to die -- and when Zaiya had been completely helpless, she had proven it. That mattered to Zaiya. A whole heck of a lot.

It only served to show her, as in the past, that when she had extended her hand to hope for more, the Force had shown her there was more there than it seemed.

However, there was no hiding how concern washed a flood of yellow hues over the edges of her mottled spots as Zaiya's thoughts immediately turned to the situation she'd been in before waking up here. The battle on Thyferra.

Eyes widening, the lovalla curled her fingers slightly into the fabric of the medical sheet beside her.

"What happened after I passed out?" Opal blue eyes met the crimson of Revna's and she swallowed hard, for the empath couldn't help but be concerned.

"On Thyferra, I mean."

The Sith woman watched the myriad of colors dance across the Jedi woman’s face, and now that she was off the field of battle, she truly took a moment to simply gaze in awe at her. Revna had never seen someone like her before, and frankly the dancing of shimmery colors - the amber, the rosy gold, hues of blueish green, and bronze - was mesmerizing to behold.

The Jedi thanked Revna, and it was a genuine response, as far as the Sith could tell. She took a moment to ponder their situation - a Jedi and a Sith, existing in the same space, without trying to kill each other. It wasn’t the first time Revna had been in a situation similar to this, and it likely wouldn’t be the last. She wondered if maybe the Lightwalker was seeing it too - that she was just a couple of feet away from the same person who had fought against her on the field of battle, who had killed Republic soldiers with the same ease as one breathed. And yet, there was no aggression, no rage, no hostility now.

It was just two young women sharing the same space, setting aside their dogma differences and simply interacting with one another.

Revna inclined her head towards the thanks she received, though she didn’t verbally respond to it. She was waiting to hear the myriad of questions that no doubt flew around in the Jedi’s mind. She certainly would have a dozen or more questions if she was in her place, afterall.

Emotions danced across the Lightwalker’s face, making her somewhat easy to read. Relief that shifted into concern, the emotion highlighted in hues of yellow. Opal blue eyes widened as they met with Revna’s gaze, and the first question spilled forth.

"What happened after I passed out? On Thyferra, I mean."

Again, Revna chose not to respond immediately. She weighed the options of either being blunt and upfront with the Jedi, or giving her something easier to dwell on. In the end, she chose to be honest, no matter how much it would impact or affect the Jedi.

The Sith have claimed Thyferra from the High Republic - the news of our victory came not all that long ago.” Revna said, her voice soft and even in tone. There was not a hint of pride shown for the victory, nor smugness for the loss the Republic - and the Jedi - had sustained in the process. She simply laid out the truth for what it was.

It was not without its costs - many lives were lost on both sides, and the bacta refineries have taken catastrophic damage. Nothing that can’t be repaired and returned to working order in time, however.

That was going to cost a lot of credits and a lot of manpower - but the Sith Empire had both, and would see it done.

Revna turned her gaze away from the Jedi to stare at a point on the wall across the room. A muscle in her jaw twitched, and the flicker of emotion passed through her eyes - one of pain, of sorrow. She was still feeling the acute absence of Lina in the Force.

And what was worse was she had heard nothing from her Father as of yet. No indication that He was okay, that A’Mia was okay. That her Brothers and Sisters in Wonosa were okay. Just silence, and she hated it.

She returned her focus to the Jedi, her head tilting to one side, her eyes flickering over the Jedi woman’s face. “It is not the news you were wanting to hear, I am sure. I debated hiding the truth from you, at least for the time being - but I realized that if I was in your place right now, I’d want to hear the truth - no matter how bitter it is.

Revna returned to silence, giving the colorful Jedi time to process what had been revealed, and ask any more questions that undoubtedly were waiting to be asked. The Sith woman had questions of her own, but she held onto hers for the time being. There would be time to ask them, for Revna wasn't planning on going anywhere, anytime soon. And frankly, neither was her prisoner - not for the foreseeable future, anyway. At least, that was what Revna told herself.
