Through strength, I gain power.

Jack had taken some time away from his master to return to the academe on Jena'tes, the heart of the Jen'ari's sith order, his blood lust had been far from satiated by his training, his master wanted too many taken alive for her experiments and the last thing he wanted to do was piss her off, she might not be a fighter, but Jack had no doubts that his master could brush him aside like a fly if she wanted to. This drove him to train and learn on his own that way he could learn what he wanted when he wanted and right now Jack wanted to learn how to kill something specifically with his lightsaber, having just attended a class Jack was in one of the many training rooms trying to stay with the form that the teacher had shown off but was failing, his swings were powerful but sloppy, but at the same time if someone watched long enough they would see that there was a method to Jack's madness. His strikes seemed to rely on Jack's existing skills as a mercenary, there was contently twitches of him starting to go for his sidearm, throw an elbow or punch as a follow up, or plant a durasteel toed boot where an opponent's shin would be, it was chaotic and messy, the only advantage Jack truly had at this point in his lightsaber form, unpredictability, no two strikes shared a similar composition, even when he took the same start the end point was different, with a different follow up each time.

Jack took a moment to catch his breath, wipe a bit of sweat from his forehead and shoot some dirty looks around the room at some of the better trained acolytes around the room who looked ready to laugh at him, any of which Jack was certain that he could wipe the flood with if none of them had training in the force.

Kane was there at the academe on his few visits to it, but he was there nonetheless, training on his lighsaber skills and Force abilities. He knew he had to control his frustrations and his hatred, to channel all of it in the duel in general, not in a single strike. It was something he had to learn still. And when he stopped training, he saw this man he considered to be crazy, swinging his lightsaber extremely recklessly. What is he doing? He thought more to himself than say it out loud, as it seemed the other acolytes were simply ridiculing him. He seemed like he could learn something, but Kane wasn't the best teacher. He considered a sparring match would be the best option, as for both of them to learn something productively.

He would holster his lightsaber, and approach the man.

"Hello! Would you fancy a sparring duel?"

-Kane said, awaiting a response

'Fancy a duel' Jack thought to himself, who the kriff says they fancy anything these days? Just little turds who wanted to sound more important then they actually were, Jack didn't want anything as danty sounding as a duel, Jack didn't 'Fancy a duel', he thought the phrase to himself mockingly again, he wanted a frakking fight. Jack sized up his potential opponent, he had a good fifteen pounds of muscle and an inch of height and reach on them, both things that would help him in a fight.

"Oi I'll fight chya, but don't expect me ta take'r easy on yer scrawny bee-hind." Jack spoke with his usual cocky attitude, although that attitude was not unearned, although he did lay it on extra thick, just like his Damnatian [Read as: Space Australian] accent just for fun, and because opponents were usually a bit wary going against confident foe. "Oi'll wipe the floor with yeh and still have time tah 'ave a smoke."

While Jack banted at Kane it gave his opponent some time to size him and his equipment up, Jack wore the chestpiece, arms, and vambrace pieces of a set of Aegis class armour, a pair of durasteel toed combat boots, a DC-15s pistol rested on his left hip, while his lightsaber clearly had a place on his right even though he held it in his hand for the moment.

Kane found it amusing that the man was taunting him, seeing as he was doing some extremely unconbentional fighting a couple of minutes back. Although the adversary was a bit stronger, his knowledge in lightsaber combat would suit him well, as applying normal combat forms would prove to be beneficial during combat, seeing as the opponent didn't have a solid grasp and understanding of lightsaber combat.

"Heh heh"

Kane laughed a bit and approached his opponent, putting his hands on their shoulder.

"I doubt it."
-Kane said, backing away and pacing slowly to the right.

Kane took off his robe, and gripped his lightsaber and ignited it, and formed a Soresu stance to test the physical prowess of his opponent, and whether he could defeat him.

Jack, in an almost contradictory act compared to what he said, took a defensive stance, or rather, he held his sabre defensively, his foot work was actually from a rather aggressive and complex fighting style used for fighting an opponent with a vibroblade while unarmed, as Kane circled him moving towards his open side Jack took note, the perceived weakness seemed to draw him in, something that might prove useful. Jack shouted as he lunged forward, but still kept his sabre in a defensive position, until the distance was almost zero, then he switched to a quick thrust, like the longsword like blade was a short vibroblade, although this was part of a three pronged attack. The faulty stab was actually a feint the other two strikes were where the real threat was a trip, wide and sweeping meant to put his opponent off balance and his left hand jumped out to grab his opponent's wrist, control the weapon, control the engagement.

Jack's goal at this very moment wasn't a quick ending to the fight, despite his reckless nature, Jack knew what he was doing when it came to a fight, his body was littered with small scars each a lesson learned learned the hard way, he would fight dirty and brutal, but he wouldn't fight stupid, Jack even tried to reach out with the force to slow down Kane, although he was too focused on his fight to find purchase with his powers.

Kane waited for the opponent to strike, in a soresu stance, classical defensive stance meant for blocking attacks and receive blunt force. Kane noticed the adversary running and shouting at him. Kane saw the opportunity to move to the side when the blade of their lightsaber reached near him, to surprise the opponent. Kane also saw the possibility for a kick in his stomach, leaning downwards, but that could also imply a knee to the face. Never too late to have a broken nose. He also saw the opportunity to just dodge to the side, leaving his opponent out in the open. And the opponents left hand was also reaching for Kane's lightsaber hilt. Unconventional, but still useful. He also noticed that he could simply move to the side and cut off his hand. But in a friendly duel like this? Maybe it wasn't so prudent as to leave his opponent handicapped and in even more hatred.

Kane took the more obvious approach, and the more cautious one. He moved to the opposite side of the opponent's left hand, he moved to his left, dodging the thrust and immediately went for a strike to his back, hoping it would only be a jab with his lightsaber, to hurt, but not to kill.

When out of the corner of his eye Jack saw the thrust heading for his back he activated the small jetpack built into his armour for just a moment, it wouldn't lift him off the ground but it would push him forward a good dozen meters giving him some space to think. He had to remember that he knew nothing about his opponent and that they almost were certain to have far better training then him with a lightsaber, Jack wanted to just draw his side arm blaster and star pouring stun bolts at his opponent, but that wouldn't help him very much with learning how to fight with a lightsaber, so he kept his hand free for now and balled it into a fist and held it like he was ready for a jab with it, but he was keeping it a few inches behind his now angled lightsaber. He had put himself in another vibroblade fight stance, the fist, against a metal blade was meant to block, and although he couldn't punch-block a lightsaber he could capture the arm wielding it if it came too close.

Jack came forward again, this time more carefully, just as Jack was good at excessive violence he could restrain himself and take a more measured approach, he started with a stab followed up by several slashs, he seamlessly mixed several forms of combat together, although none of them were made to be used with a lightsaber, instead blasterbutts, chair legs, fists, and normal blades all would have fit better, but it gave him a base to start his assaults from.

When Jack perceived an opening, wiether an international opening, a slip up or just his imagination he took a chance letting his frustrations and anger flow through him Jack made a kick at his opponent's left side while pushing his saber forward to lock blades using an old idea of 'control the weapon and you control the engagement, something that Jack knew worked well on normal people regardless of skill, but wiether it worked as well on a force user was something he would have to find out.

When Kane noticed the man using a jetpack during the duel, he just thought it was unconventional, but he knew he could win this battle, as jetpacks aren't necessarily dirty or unfair. Kane didn't really care about it when the opponent moved back, as he could've easily done that with the Force, moving back with their kinetic force.

As the opponent relied upon brute strength and unusual fighting stances for lightsaber, Kane thought he might do the same, considering that normal lightsaber combat wouldn't be as effective.

Kane saw his left foot coming in for a kick in the right side of his torso, and the lightsaber clashing with his own on the left side of his flank. Kane was cornered, but it was not over yet, as he could always rely on Force powers. Kane used the Force to push the enemy away, not too much, but enough to gain some space to coordenate the fight the way he saw fit. It was not a particularly hard fight, but not a walk in the park either.

Jack fell backwards at feeling of the force push, his footwork was meant to stand up against force being applied at a single point rather than applied to his entire body at once. There was a loud THUD as Jack's skull impacted with the floor of the training room, but that and the bit of blood mixing into his hair didn't concern him as much as the opponent in front of him with a lightsaber and the opportunity for a killing blow, because why let a little possible concussion get in the way of a good fight? Jack used an ancient technique he saw on the holonet to keep his opponent at bay, he held his lightsaber partial to his fallen form and swung it rapidly in a long arc, meaning that his opponent would have to risk a nasty hit to the ankles to get close enough to hit him. While it wasn't the best move Jack expected it would give him enough room to stand up again and lept to his feet pain still ringing in the back of his head.

Rather than try and ignore the pain and fight though it like he used to do Jack embraced it, focused on it, and it seemed to help him a little bit, the pain and anger and frustration started to channel into his strikes, and while they didn't become perfect things seemed to improve, the series of quick strikes he sent to keep his opponent on gaurd and he re positioned himself flowed a little better, still powerful but less savage.

Kane noticed the man on the floor, now a bit less savage and crazy in his fighting. As Kane noticed the adversary leaping to his feet, he blocked his attacks, always in a defensive form, testing his opponent. The adversary was a bit more controlled now, and it seemed he could take the chance to disarm him and pin him down, win the combat.

As the quick jabs with the saber came through, Kane was able to block most of the strikes, but dodged some, and was ready to go on the offensive.

Kane then took another stance, of Form V. When the opponent's strikes were over and he was in an overall far distance from his lightsaber, he paced quickly, his head a bit leaned to face the opponent menacingly, and he was barely tired. He went for a clash with their opponen'ts lightsaber, and a punch with the left hand, to make them fall back a bit and start to charge the opponent. His next move, if the punch connected, was to pin the opponent down with strong, but particularly fast strikes in all directions, up, left, right and down. To push the enemy back through sheer kinetic force and strength, utilizing his abilities in the Force to improve his senses and power, to make him focus more. He seeked victory, now.

Jack was surprised as he was sudden pushed onto the defence, he was expecting to be the one setting the pace of the fight, rather than being forced into his opponent's pace, it was how he won against a superior foe, he made them fight on his terms and be able to press his own advantages. Jack struggled to keep his saber up against the onslaught of attacks when he was suddenly hit in the face by a nasty punch, he could taste blood pooling in his mouth and his left eye was alright starting to swell shut, it was fortunate that it was his left and not his dominant right eye.

Jack decided he was going to take up an old bar fighter tactic, he hucked a bloody loogie at his opponent's face, something that made most people duck considering the consequences of not ducking were pretty gross. But either way usually resulted in some sort of opening either from blinding or dodging. Regardless Jack needed to commit before his opponent had time to guess his next move, Jack lunged forward in a jetpack assisted bodyslam, he wanted to remove the sticks of instant death from the equation, and usually in a knife fight the person who won is usually the first person to realize that is actually a grappling duel, something that Jack actually had a good chance of winning, provided he could get Kane in a grab that is.
