Hatchling Years
Thressik Marn was born in the twilight season on the Mantari homeworld, Selen'Kaath, into the Rootclasp Brood, a lineage known for producing historians, song-weavers, and healers. His early years were spent in a great hive-tree called Thalan'Vuur, located at the intersection of two major migratory root-networks. From the time he first emerged from his egg casing, he showed an unusual sensitivity to the subtle rhythms of the living world; he could feel when tree colonies grew anxious, sense emotional tremors through the root-fibers beneath his feet and even soothe aggressive insect colonies with a calming gesture.

By the time he reached his first molting, roughly equivalent to adolescence, Thressik had already begun the training of a Threadreader, one who listens to the life-patterns of plants, soil, and beings through the Force.

The Jedi Arrival
Selen'Kaath remained largely isolated until contact was made with Jedi explorers seeking Force-sensitive life in the Tingel Arm. The Mantari, cautious and disinterested in galactic matters, initially refused formal contact. However, the Jedi noticed something rare in the Thressik: a Force signature deeply rooted in pattern awareness, comparable to the rare Jedi Seers.

Thressik was invited to train with the Jedi Order offworld. After much deliberation, he accepted; not for personal gain, but to understand how these "offworlders" interpreted the Force. His hive-tree permitted him to leave with the caveat that he remain Mantari first, Jedi second.

Training and Isolation
Though highly disciplined, Thressik's Mantari values often clashed with the teachings of the New Jedi Order. He was disquieted by how quickly they moved to action: drawing sabers where the Mantari would meditate, making decisions in minutes that his people would ponder over the course of a full solar cycle.

Despite these differences, Thressik excelled in the Jedi arts of healing, meditation, and environmental sensing. His lightsaber hilt was grown during a sacred bonding ritual on Selen'Kaath rather than forged. It contains living tissue that remains attuned to him, even after decades of separation.

After attaining Knighthood, which took him no time at all because of his already advanced connection to the Force and abilities, Thressik returned to Selen'Kaath and began developing a philosophy that would merge Jedi principles with Mantari ethics. This unique synthesis earned him the formal title of Threadwarden, a sacred guardian of planetary harmony.

Ascension to Jedi Master
Though he declined many offers to remain stationed with the NJO, Thressik's insights into long-term consequences, emotional currents, and planetary-scale conflicts were too valuable to ignore. His unique worldview eventually earned him the rank of Jedi Master. He serves as a "Remote Master", occasionally summoned by the Council for wisdom or mediation.

  • Overly Deliberate:
His insistence on patience and analysis can delay critical decisions, making him ineffective in rapidly unfolding crises.
  • Culturally Rooted:
Deep Mantari values sometimes cause him to misinterpret or resist offworld perspectives, limiting his adaptability in unfamiliar societies.
  • Distrust of Jedi Council:
His frequent philosophical clashes with the New Jedi Order have made him politically isolated and distrusted by more proactive Jedi leaders.
  • Reluctant Combatant:
Though capable of defending himself, Thressik avoids combat so strongly that it can leave allies vulnerable when decisive action is needed.
  • Environmental Dependency:
Most effective when surrounded by living environments—he is disoriented and weakened in artificial or sterile settings like starships or cities.
