Subject: Nubian Trade Accord

On behalf of the New Republic, I have a suggestion: since Nubia is suffering at the hands of Mandalorian embargoes, for the past few years, Nubia would welcome a conference where trade and other diplomatic matters will be discussed between all three of Nubia, the New Republic and the Techno Empire. If you all agree, we shall discuss terms on Nubia.

Klesta
Senator of Hosnian Prime

------------------

Klesta had unfinished business with the Techno Empire, since the last attempt at diplomacy fell apart. The New Republic as he understood it should becalled the Fourth Republic (the first one lasted until 19 BBY, the second one spanned 4-34 ABY, the third one spanned 240-845 ABY, and the fourth one is the current one) in history books. For all the while that Hosnian Prime has been a major Republican planet, yet sheltered from the Sith or the Mandos, who both deemed Hosnian Prime to be of little interest, Nubia, on the other hand, was not only the victim of a Mandalorian raid, but also, along with the whole of the Republic, fell prey to a Mandalorian embargoes. The Mandalorian pettiness cost Nubia dearly, and, if the New Republic could show that they were different from the third one, whose last 25 years were plagued with numerous incidents of all kinds, Klesta had a chance to do so.

Eliala reclined in her office chair, her hands meet at her center finger to finger in a tent shaped triangle. Her blue eyes stared into the monitor of her desk embedded computer. She was re-reading the message sent by the former Grand Republic Senator from Hosnian prime. She had barely spent a few months in office as the newly elected Primarch of the Nubian Republic when the offer for a three party trade agreement was proposed between Nubia, Techno Union and this New Republic. Eliala was unaware that a "new" Republic had been forged since the general collapse of political and military governance of the Grand Republic.

Regardless Senator Klesta had a point, the Mandalorian transgressions had indirectly effected Nubia. Eliala's lips curled into a frown in remembrance of the unfair deal the previous leaders made in joining the Repubic in its feuds with the Sith and Mandalorians. She was no particularly annoyed at the Mandalorians compared to the Republic's wanton fiscal mayhem.

Eliala stood from her seat and pressed a hologram communication switch, the blue hovering image of secretary's bust materialised.

"Salla, have arrangements be made for Senator Klesta and Werah Unon visit." Eliala began. The secretary complied and the feed was cut.

LATER
Office of the Primarch
Nuba City, Nubia

The day had finally come, Eliala, dressed in her best business attire, awaited the delegates from the New Republic and Techno Union at the open air landing pad that protruded from the sky tower that held her Primarch's Office at the top. The Nubian winds were blowing in gentle winding spats. Eliala stood and watched the flying traffic move here and there. The city always made her remember to whom she served. She smiled at the traffic. Next to her, her secretary stand poised with data pad tucked under her armpit.

Eliala pointed to a sky highway that bent around a large urban strata of blocks.

"I used to work in that office as a Foreign Officer." She said with a fond tone. "Galaxy has changed since then."

"But, one thing will not." Eliala's gentle tone of nostalgia faded into a grim seriousness. "There will always be larger forces circling the core like predators, they may disguise themselves under names like Republics, Protectorates, Imperiums, but they all essentially crave the same thing. Resources, power and commerce."

"Remember this Salla." said Eliala, shooting a look at Salla. "What we negotiate today is the expansion of our foreign financial and commerce inflow. And we do it with Nubia in mind first. Political Favors and Commitments will be completely conditional. I didn't drag Nubia out of one mess to get sucked into another."

"Perhaps leave that as a mental statement madam." Salla joked. Eliala grinned and laughed for a brief moment. She then turned and saw the the glinting shape of a J-Type 327 Nubian Luxury Transport begin to dive out of the traffic above to land on the pad. Eliala's grin decayed and she adjusted her suit before walking forward to greet her guests. The firebrand politician receded to let the diplomat and primarch take over.
