Faction [THP] Life Beneath The Waves

There was much to learn beneath the waves. Life always found a way to survive, not just in the fresh open spaces with the air but also in the darkest depths of the ocean. Yet even in the darkest depths of the ocean, the Light always found a way to radiate for all to see. And that was why Iskalon had been chosen by Reina. She wanted to add to the Hidden Path, to do something that could count. Her hands had been tied when it came to the rebellious strikes against the Empire and so she had decided to do something that was unusual for her. To build. To make an Enclave that the Jedi could appreciate beneath the waves, where they could be trained for the conditions needed to live with the ocean, for as it was a part of nature that Reina could appreciate.

It would require plenty of hard work, especially if they had needed to make an Enclave out of scratch but Reina was able to use her slowly growing social skills to her advantage, talking with the local Iskalonians to find out there was a submerged Temple, built into an underwater cavern that could be used for the Jedi. There would be some tools needed of course to try and make it as air tight as they could for the non-aquatic Jedi that would be staying there but hey. Coruscant wasn't built in a day and so Reina was ready to take the helm and lead the way for once.

Objective 1 - Sealed Sanctuary

Help in aiding with the delivery and installation supplies to construct air-tight chambers for non-aquatic Jedi, ensuring the enclave is livable for all species and a safe place for them all to learn. Whilst there are submersible vehicles available to be used to help aid in the delivery, the actual installation of the supplies will need to be done by hand, with the cavern being far too narrow for the vehicles to make their way in. Of course, breathing masks and the like are supplied to all of those taking part to help in this act and don't feel afraid to ask some of the natives for help! There are at least a few who are willing to lend a hand to the Hidden Path. Reina is also open to aid in any way she can, with her directing where the supplies should be taken. Whilst the submerged Temple could possibly be a safe hide-away for the Ersansyr Padawan, she would much prefer for it to be a home available to anyone who needs it.

TLDR - Help make the Enclave livable/breathable

Objective 2 - Currents of Trust

It should come as no surprise that there are some amongst the Iskalonians who are for lack of a better term, afraid, that the settling of a Jedi Enclave on their planet could possibly mark them as a target for strikes from the enemies of the Jedi. And so it should also come as no surprise that Reina has suggested the idea that those more diplomatically skilled amongst the Hidden Path should try and reassure the people that they'll be safe. Especially because of the fact that the Iskalonians could make for excellent teachers on how to survive beneath the waves, only if the Jedi can earn their trust of course. Because for as much as a skill with a Lightsaber is something to be admired and recognised, one's skill with their tongue is also one that should be trained and respected. Especially as Reina has high hopes that the training could not only be used for the Jedi amongst the Hidden Path but also for other members who are willing to entertain the idea of water survival

TLDR - Talk to the local natives to build up a rapport of trust

Objective 3 - What Lurks Beneath

Of course, it couldn't all be sunshine and rainbows...Mostly because sunshine and rainbows are actually more difficult to find beneath the ocean than you'd expect. The ocean isn't entirely a safe place, and there are many dangers lurking, ready to pounce on some poor unsuspecting swimmer. That's where this all comes in! Work with the native Iskalonians that are willing to trust in the Hidden Path to work on making the area around the Temple a safer place. Be it from dealing with potential predators that are lurking, waiting for some unwary prey to show up, or to unstable currents that need to be solved in some manner of way. There's also reports of toxic algae leeching into the water that needs to be dealt with. Best for those who are willing to take a plunge into danger and see what they can do!

TLDR - Deal with any threats that may be around the area of the Enclave

The world was beautiful and as the choice for an enclave there weren't enough on water worlds... the Temple Aquatica was nice and it served well in many cases. Matsu had come with Nari as she swam, her body holding her breathe when they slipped out of the unbeing and she floated in the water itself. An elaborate jeweled swimsuit designed to accentuate the figure and to Hanna's specifications. It was a delicate solari crystal chain carefully crafted and set together draping across the chest and hips. At the center of the chest, there was a prominent arrkannes gemstone pendant, flanked by two pink teardrop-shaped kaiburr ornaments. The swimsuit extending downward with additional solari crystal and blue teardrop-shaped pendants hanging from the waist, creating a cascading effect of light when she swam. The back view reveals a similar chain design, with the blue pendants dangling symmetrically, adding a regal flair as Hanna had designed it for Matsu.

Her pale skin shimmering in the ocean waters while her favorite padawans mother drifted by her side. The womans black eyes there before Matsu moved and her hair was tied in a complicated braid that allowed it to flow behind her but be out fo the way. The kyber crystal piercing as her navel could be seen better as well as with her ears uncovered the ears with small solarite metal wraps on the ears inlaid with force crystals. She had taken a breath and knew how to hold it in her lungs for long periods of time when she was swimming with Nari towards the potential site. There was a lot that she could aff to the construction of an enclave, she had given Caltin a lot of the options including the chain gateway which waas a quicker emergency exit that would lead to an offworld temple. The petite jedi master moved around with speed and movement under the water as she went towards where the padawan who suggested it was.

Katarine still wasn't certain why she remained with the Hidden Path. Their determination to resist the Empire was admirable, yes, but to her, who had once fought the first Empire, the struggle felt like a story set on repeat. History wound itself in circles, war replayed in endless refrains. What difference did their fight truly make, when fate seemed content to drag the galaxy into the same dance until time itself unraveled?

She kept that cynicism buried. Whatever her doubts, she owed these people food for food, shelter for shelter. And so she helped.

Today found her aboard a seafaring vessel, bobbing on the vast surface of an endless ocean. The mission was straightforward: a small team would dive below to scout for threats lurking near the enclave they hoped to establish. Katarine had volunteered without hesitation.

Her deep green eyes skimmed across the rolling waves, struck by the planet's beauty. For a moment she let herself breathe in the salt air, let her mind drift. The water's rhythm stirred something half-remembered, the simpler days, fragments of joy, memories softened by time until they were almost dreams.

Under the sea.

The option to send others was always there. But Vodet decided perhaps he should visit. A representative of Kattada as well as someone who knew the Enclave network the best. Sending a Witch would have been an idea but nope. Vodet decided to go.

Good thing too. Word was there were several predatory species around the Temple area.

Using the new repulsors, Vodet landed the Hawksbill over the coordinates. Nodding to his pilot droid, an old Jedi instructor model, he stepped out of the boarding ramp and splashed down into the water. He was supposed to be meeting folks here.

Reina kept herself directing as many people as she could towards the cavern, waving her arms in that direction as if she was ushering them in the right direction. At the very least Reina felt somewhat at peace...about who she was now, as her tail swayed from side to side. It was the first time she actually was able to use it for something related to the Jedi. Fun wasn't the right word to use but it was...enjoyable. She'd be able to get to doing some hard labour later when the supplies had actually fully arrived but for now? She got to feel like a leader, like a Captain. Minus the barking orders part. She was a fish-person, not a dog-person.

Though it seemed like she had at least someone swimming up towards her as Reina twisted herself around to spot Matsu Ike Matsu Ike giving the woman a short nod. It was harder to bow in water so a nod was going to have to suffice for now. Reina wasn't exactly the greatest at dealing with strangers, especially when they were meant to be higher up Jedi but she decided the best thing to do would be to have good manners.

"Welcome Ma'am. It is a pleasure to have you here."

It was strange to speak below the waves. The pressure she felt was unlike anything above the waves but Reina wasn't overly fussed with that. She had far more stranger experiences than that as she also gave a short nod towards Nari. She needed to at least acknowledge the both of them. Her eyes darted off to make sure the submersibles were still on their way towards the Enclave before looking back over towards Matsu, giving her a slight fangy smile.

The ocean waters were beautiful as she moved through them. Small adjustments and pulses from the force to let her glide without disturbing the water and looking like a fish for the potential predators. She allowed the force to wrap around before she went forward. The girl greeting them with bows of her head received on in kind before she left. The jedi master noticed her turn back as she remained there floating for a moment... her hair fanning out in a black curtain like a cape. The small beads of kyber twinkling like stars. Nari staying near her as the jedi spoke. "So what were you thinking for the enclave?"

SHe asked it and Matsu shrugged while she waited. Her mind-expanding.. the water slowly letting her sense a great deal more as the scents of the sea were over shadowed by the residual scents being washed off of some of the others. The taste of the metal in the water from the submersibles and finally she moved going to the site. Herr feet staying just above the location as her hands came out. Slowly manipulating, shaping, channeling and forming... the rocks giving way like clay under her fingers to form a small castle. She was shaping windows and doors with her finger as her tongue stuck out the side of her mouth.

"I take it rock castles are to model different ways the temple could look?" Nari said it looking at her and Matsu shrugged. "In a way, I have the materials they can use. We can and still are able to do a lot more." She said it as her art of the small manipulations of the matter shaped more of it. Going from one to another and she started making small soldiers to stand in parapets. The smaller designs of horses when she checked on a few things. Her senses in the water expanding with her control, each molecule vibrating like a firing synapse to send an impression of the world to her mind so she could see the creatures as her mind was processing it.

Another Enclave. Another place the Hidden Path was trying to carve out of the galaxy's corners, piece by piece. It wasn't glamorous work but it mattered. The Jedi needed safe havens, and for that they needed field operatives willing to get their hands dirty. Or, in this case, wet. Ace obliged.

The teal dive-suit clung close against his frame, reinforced gloves tugged snug around his hands. The domed helmet hissed softly as the seals pressurized, air filtering steady and calm. It wasn't his usual kind of gear, but the ocean wasn't his usual kind of fight.

Beside him, Tic shuffled along the rail in a makeshift, photoreceptor blinking faintly. The little BD-unit gave a warbling beep, half-excited, half-anxious, as the sea air rolled across the deck. Thankfully, BD units were capable of underwater exploration too - which meant he was able to bring his little friend with him.

Ace crouched down, tapping the droid's casing once with a gloved knuckle. "I know. Just… stay close this time. Don't need you chasing shiny junk while something with teeth is chasing me."

Tic gave an indignant burst of chirps, then settled back down at his side. Ace straightened, gaze sweeping over the waves. The others were here, ready to dive. He gave the seals one last check, then pulled a long breath through the rebreather before stepping off the deck

The water swallowed him whole, the world turning cold and quiet in an instant. His locs floated loose around his head within the helmet, white strands drifting like sea grass as he sank beside the others. Ahead, shadows stirred in the deep, just beyond the faint glow of bioluminescence.

Reina had her plans on how to have the Enclave somewhat structured. There was already a base Temple that existed, which if they pumped the water out could work as rooms to stay in and sleep. She also had the idea of having some form of pressure dome that would be transparent enough to let people stare out at the waves. It was going to be a lot of work, and potentially take a small amount of time but at the end of the day? Reina couldn't wait for it. She wanted to prove that she could help make something.

There were a few caves as well she wanted to use for training nearby, but that wasn't too important. It could come later now that she thought of it. She just had to make sure supplies got delivered and there wasn't any issues...Which made her realise something as Reina moved over towards her communicator to send a quick message to those who were here, mostly focused on Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound Katarine Ryiah Katarine Ryiah and Vodet Vodet

"If anyone needs aid, contact me with where you are. I'll get over as soon as I can."

It was more of a safety check, in case there were people hunting predators or clearing the area got into trouble. She wanted to be responsible. If anyone did get hurt during this little mission, it would be on her shoulders so she was doing her best to keep an eye out on what she could. At the very least, she wouldn't have to worry about Matsu and Nari, since that pair seemed quite capable to Reina, as she floated over towards them to tell them what she had the idea for the layout.

"There's also a Temple submerged under here, but the locals don't want it fully drained. I thought draining a few of the common rooms for people to sleep in would be suitable enough. Whereas I thought the nearby caves could be used for training. It'll be a bit of work draining out some of the caves, but I think having a mixture between dry caves and wet caves might make for a good experience."

It might have sounded strange, but Reina thought it was a good idea. Especially if she could have it set up that they could pump water into the dry caves. That could help simulate experiences in the future for the Padawans, like if they were suddenly in a room that was filling with water. At the end of the day however, Reina wanted this to be a group endeavour. For people to include what they thought would be needed.

She continued to move and shape the castles on the stone. Looking at Nari who had given in after searching the caves to get an idea for what the padawan had in mind. "It looks standard, some shielding and you could have secured areas. I know not everyone likes being under the sea." Narri spoke as Matsu nodded when the padawan approached. She listened to her ideas for it and gave a nod while she floated around. "That can be done, dry areas protected by a hydrostatic shield and a power source to maintain it. With some reinforcement we can do a lot for the temple without it becoming completely changed." She clapped while looking at Reina as she floated closer moving but also not disturbing the waters around her. "Though padawan I have seen many species, you seem more unique. It is good to see the young having the ambition to develop an enclave like this." SHe offered a hand which became a fist. "Nari's son told me this is how the cool padawans congratulate each other and to add izzle to my speech... I am not going to do that."

Katarine put the pressurized helmet of her aquasuit on and flipped over the boat backwards. Her eyes started to adjust to the lower light as her headlamp flickered on. She saw Acier and his droid, and also saw Master Vodet. She nodded to each, though she knew her suit also had communications installed if they needed to speak.

As if on cue with that thought the comm sprang to life.

"If anyone needs aid, contact me with where you are. I'll get over as soon as I can."

"Copy that."

She motioned for the divers to follow her and together they started towards the cave systems. The water was colder the further down they went and soon Katarine was thankful for the warming effects of the dive suit. Her hair floated behind her, her deep green eyes scanning the ocean floor. So far just the normal plants and animals as expected. Maybe this would be an easy mission today.

And a touch of the blues
Vodet was more than happy to be back in the sea. He had the worlds he protected, as a Watchman, but now he had this. The turtle was feeling at home. Diving and drifting… rising and surfacing to check where he was. The lumbering Jedi Master was happy again. This was the sea. Hearing the comms, there was a green to his turtle-face.

“I should be fine, and I will do my best to keep an eye on the others.”
He was never a predator, but he was someone who knew the waters. Not these, specifically, but most. He heard of the discussion of the temple.

“Can you send us where we are needed most?”
Vodet looked and waved at the Jedi Master, Ryiah, if he was understanding.

“Welcome to the water!”

The deeper they went, the more the sea pressed in. Cold currents slid around him, tugging at his suit, testing his balance. Ace adjusted, trying not to think too hard about how slow every kick felt compared to running rooftops or dueling with a lightsaber. Down here, even speed was stolen.

Kat's beam cut a steady line through the murk ahead, Vodet lumbered along with the kind of ease that only came from belonging in water, and Ace did his best to match their rhythm. Tic clung close, thrusters humming in short, uneven bursts, the BD-unit's light flicking nervously over coral and stone.

"Relax..." Ace said over the comm, glancing down at him. "Just don't wander. No shiny rocks, remember?"

Tic beeped once, softer this time, though his beam swept wider as if to prove he was still being useful. Ace's own headlamp washed across the cavern mouth in the distance. Shadows pooled there, too thick for the light to break apart. His gut twisted, the same knot he'd felt on more than one mission just before an ambush hit.

"Place looks quiet." He muttered, tone flat. "Which normally means..."

He slowed his pace, giving the others room to keep point. His free hand brushed the holstered lightsaber at his belt - dead weight here, but it still grounded. Whatever waited in that darkness, he had no plans of letting it make the first move.
