Munin

The blaster had found its way back into his holster by the time they'd left the keep.
He didn't even notice the cold as they walked back, didn't even notice the snow slowly falling on his head. He hadn't expected this. He'd readied himself for good news, bad news, even something in between, but what he hadn't thought of, the one thing that he hadn't expected...was finding nothing at all. The facility had been empty. There had been no clues, no markings, no data to steal.
Nothing.
What was it supposed to mean? What was he supposed to think? His lips thinned slightly as they reached the door, his hand almost absent minded taking the key from his pocket and sliding it in the door. The tumblers within the lock shifted open, and a second later they stood inside of their tiny vacation home.
It was warm this time, noticeably so.
Munin didn't say anything as he slowly kicked off his boots. Wandering towards the bedroom as he stripped off his warm winter clothes and got into bed.
