Kain was on the verge of going insane. The Hidden Path and by association, Kain himself, had been on Odessen for longer than he ever cared to sit still. Leaving now was a moot argument for the former Jedi. Da'Razel had turned him into a flash roasted womp-rat. He'd been healing, though it was slow going. He kept going on and on about not wanting to submerge himself in a bacta tank. Using excuses, saying he'd rather be aware if they were attacked, rather be able to fight quickly if the need arose. It was Bantha-poodoo. After his nearly twenty year stint in a stasis-bacta chamber, even looking at one felt like he was staring at his coffin from the other side.

Thinking back to earlier, Kain remembered Jane Jane 's offer to do the evac run with everyone. He'd been more than willing to commit to the job. Hell it seemed like most of the Path members were going one direction or another after the council, or maybe it had been more of a gathering, held by Valery Noble. Kain though would like to know who he was working with. So he'd sent a holo to most of the people he'd met yesterday.

"Hey, Kain here. We all spoke briefly yesterday I know, but I figured I'd send an update anyways. Got ahold of an old friend who owed me a favor. We have supplies waiting on a station above Mon Cala. I'm taking a trip to see our aquatic neighbors here soon and figured I'd send an invitation. If you're trying to tag along, just meet me at the Runner. I'm leaving Odessen midday tomorrow. If you can't make if for the trip. Don't sweat. I have a feeling were going to be pack in some ship or another for quite some time. So yeah... see you if I see you."

It would be a good way to know the new members of the Path he'd be working with on missions of this caliber. As an added bonus, he could give them some basic knowledge on how to finesse some of the major players within the galaxy, then they could go over a game plan too.

Small leather boots dashed through the soil and grass of Odessen just as midday arrived. Jane had managed to gather a backpack full of food and water ever since the holo reached her. It wouldn't be enough to cover the entire trip, but it was the least she could do to lessen the burden of being there without any credits to help out. With that trusty backpack firmly over her shoulders, the landing platform that stored Kain's ship came into view.

It was her first real mission. And it was her first time traveling with a larger group. In fact, it was her first time for many things. And, as fearless as ever, she was prepared to face it head on and learn what it was like to be a rebel and a Jedi, not in the safe classroom of Coruscant, but out in the galaxy, with a mission.

Or, perhaps it was her lack of fear or any emotion that could have warned her made her feel prepared to face this mission with no prior experience.

Nonetheless, wearing her elegant white floral armor given by the kind old man, her adjusted Jedi robes, and the huge yet sleeveless purple cloak, the short doll-like girl approached the Runner while her black cybernetic eyes scanned the area for a moment before she noticed Kain lingering nearby, as he had stated.

Jane's pace slowed from a run to a normal walk, until she came to a stop in front of Kain, a little too close for comfort.
"Hello, Kain. I received your hologram. I didn't know how to reply. But I am here." Her lavender hand reached up and patted one of the two leather straps. "I also managed to gather some food and water, for the journey."

Ace was out training in the forest yet again when he received the ping. Batting away two little blaster bolts before stopping, he then extinguished his blade and pulled out his personal holoprojector. A blue, static-y, miniaturized version of Kain Aldore Kain Aldore displayed in front of him. Listening to Kain's message, Ace raised a reluctant brow.

"Mon Cala? That was the other end of the galaxy..." he muttered to himself, almost sounding defeated.

Then there was also the prospect of travelling on another ship that wasn't the Flickerfox. In their short time together, Ace had grown attached to his ship. Hated the idea of travelling anywhere without her, or leaving her alone. Sighing to himself, he took a step back and scanned the forest around him. It wasn't like he had anything better to do right now though.

Without thinking, he was already making his way to the Flickerfox to grab supplies and other things. He'd made his decision.

After that, Ace with his pack strapped on his back exited his freighter but turned back to give her a last look "I'll be back soon..."

He then proceeded to make his way toward the Runner. There, he could already see Jane Jane and Kain. Ace was able to get a better look of Kain's ship... it was no Flickerfox but... it was definitely bigger and held more room for a crew. So, begrudgingly, it made sense they'd take Kain's ship.

As he drew near, he offered the pair a faint smile and a nod. Slowing his pace to a stop, he was silent for a moment before glancing to the side - avoiding their gaze.

"I had nothing better to do, so..." he said, scratching his left nostril.

"I mean, I'm sure there was plenty of better things to do. Eat. Sleep. Drink."

Lestra's tuft of blue hair popped out of nowhere as he made his arrival at the ship, his arms resting behind his head as he took in the sight of those who had arrived. A goofy and fangy grin spread across his face at the same time. Sure, there was a chance the journey was going to take a while but for all intents and purposes, Lestra didn't seem to have a single care in the Galaxy.

"Now, do you have something more important to do? Well. That's somethin' you'd have to figure out for yerself."

For Lestra, there wasn't really anything more important for him to do. The main reason he was heading out on this was because...well, he was bored. He didn't have some Master to put him through boring lessons, or strenuous tasks that would cause him to slowly lose his sanity. So instead he had to find challenges for himself. Experiences that could act as a lesson for him.

It...still didn't come to Lestra's mind that he had properly introduced himself to...anyone here. It didn't matter in his eyes though. Everyone already had a name here in his mind. There was Doll-Metal-Face, in the form of Jane Jane . Jumpsuit, in the form of Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound and then Kain, in the form of Kain Aldore Kain Aldore . Okay. Maybe it was a bit unfair that Kain was the only one who got his actual name memorised, but it helped that he had used it on the holo.

"Nothing better, huh?"

Aris glanced down to Acier, offering a bit of a smirk before giving a nod to Kain. This was his ship, and thus, he was the one in charge. Which worked great for Aris, who already really didn't like to pilot. He moved onto the ship, idly shouldering a pack of stuff he might need as he glanced to the others. Jane was a welcome face to see. Lestra was one he didn't know. He tilted his head a bit, seeming to watch the other boy before he'd give a similar nod.

They had this. Probably.

"What kind of supplies are we getting?"

Quite the gathering for a merry band of misfits, huh...

With a pack slung over his shoulder with one hand, and his cycler rifle being held in the other, he was taking a few moments to watch from a distance to see who had shown up. He recognizes pretty much everyone from when they had gathered beforehand at the grand meeting for the Path. Or, well, next to everyone. But, as he's staring at everyone, he realizes something...

... asides from Kain Aldore Kain Aldore , everyone else here is younger than he is. And not merely just younger, some of them are practically children.

Which means, he's stuck watching over a bunch of kids for who-knows how long.

Ughhh. An internal groan to himself, as he took a moment to facepalm. Why the hell has he been getting involved with so many kids recently? Not to mention he's pretty sure he's the only one here he can't use the Force. And the fact that he's leaving his trusty ship behind, in favor of the Runner. It was much more proficient for this sort of thing than his was, but that doesn't mean he can't be salty about it. This just keeps getting better and better...

Reluctantly, he started making his way over to the gathering. Approaching, as he gave a couple nods in acknowledgement around to the others. "Hey, everyone." Setting his pack down on the floor near the gathering, as he took a moment to adjust his hat.

["What kind of supplies are we getting?"]

Directing his gaze towards Aris Noble Aris Noble . "Medical, if memory serves me right. Also, don't think we've met before. Name's Gavin." Giving a brief flick to his own hat in greeting. Glancing towards Lestra Thairk Lestra Thairk , afterwards. "Same goes for you. Pretty sure I saw you yesterday, but I ain't certain."

Kain watched the young girl pat the straps of the pack and reassure him that she'd brought along her own snacks and drinks. He gave her a smile, Jane may not know how to reply to a holo, but at the very least she was thoughtful. He was on the verge of telling her he had enough supplies to keep upwards of ten people fed for a month long trip in the blackness of space. Instead he just threw his hand forward and gave her a thumbs up. "Awesome! You can put em in the chiller in the kitchen. The Slate Runner has a pretty streamline design, so you should be able to figure it out pretty easily. Any questions. Just ask!"

Kain looked to Acier and could sense a bit of hesitation, or, maybe he was nervous? He really had no idea. Senses were by far not his strong suit, there was just an off air about him. So the elder didn't pry, he just tilted his head upwards to say welcome. "This will be good, hell you might just have fun."

Next came the boy with the blue hair. Kain wasn't really the mentor type, though it seemed he'd have to fall into that role, the question was whether or not he'd actually be good at it. And he could already tell the answer was no. Looking at Lestra, Kain had a moment of self reflection. He saw himself ten years younger. However the one thing that hadn't changed was his sense of humor. "Oh my bad." He gave Lestra a smirk. "I forgot to ask if the galaxies busiest man was free! I didn't realize this was going to interrupt your extreme training regiment of sitting here and doing nothing." The smile on his face said it all. Yeah sure he was still covered in bacta patches from the burns, his voice was still coarse for the heat. Yet his pride, unbroken.

This group would quickly learn why Knight Aldore had become just Kain Aldore years ago. Now wasn't the time though as someone else approached. Aris Noble. Kain's gaze lingered on the young man. This was by far the strangest interaction he'd have on the ship. His little stent in cryo did wonders on the people around him. Mainly the fact that Kain had known Aris' mother, Valery longer than she'd been with the boys father, coming back and learning she had not one, not two, but three kiddos was more of a shock than learning how much time had passed.

Before Kain had the chance to respond Gavin had shown up. If he'd had to guess Gavin and he were by far the two oldest members of the crew. While Kain was no mentor or even really a good influence, maybe the two men could balance each other out. "Right introductions. Like I said. I'm Kain, use to be a Jedi but that was ages ago. So now this is what I do. Gavin pretty much hit the bulkhead with the spanner there."

He made his was through the cargo hold and quickly moved himself up the rungs of the ladder. Assuming the crew was still following Kain continued. "Yeah meds mainly, though there are some other things we're aiming to snag on the downlow. Mainly some of the Mon Calamari weapons, and a few parts from their ship foundry to outfit some of our own transportation ships with. Particularly their shield generators, some of the highest rated in the galaxy." Ulterior motives had always been in place. They could outfit their rebellion with weapons from the Mon Cala, if anyone was detained, it would point the Galactic Empire to the Imperial Confederacy. Second, the shield generators could not only be outfitted to smaller transpos for added protection, but if they had an engineer with the right knowledge which Kain did, the genneys could be used to shield outposts from orbital fire, and more importantly, if tweaked, used to mask a radio signal.

"Don't worry about the trip either. We're gonna take Hypergate Lao-Mon to Hypergate Chandaar. Should be a three, maybe four day trip there and back if we spend a little time aboard the station."
Turning back, once everyone was aboard the ship Kain would hit the controls and seal the cargo ramp. "Questions, comments, concerns?"

Watching as Kain Aldore Kain Aldore started making his way into the ship and through the cargo area, he picked his pack back up from the floor. Slinging it over his shoulder, as he followed the man through the cargo hold. Taking a moment to look around, as he continued listening.

["Questions, comments, concerns?"]

While he didn't have anything about the mission to comment on, he did have on thing to say. "I'll say this now: if I have to share a bed with any of you, and you snore in your sleep, I will be punching you. Just so we're clear." Evidently, he didn't play around when it came to sleep. Seeing how little of it he's been getting recently, he wanted to cherish every moment of it.

"Other than that, I'll be lookin' forwards to gettin' to know you folk."

Place her stuff in the chiller in the kitchen. Alright, Jane could do that. The girl nodded once to Kain with a small "Okay.", before her eyes scanned the group that had formed around the ship.

To some degree, she recognized each face. Acier, Aris and Gavin she'd met properly by now. She knew their names, figured out the main gist of their personalities and felt comfortable around them. The only one who seemed unfamiliar to her was the boy with blue hair, whose name she did not know. In fact, she knew almost nothing about him; he offered to join just before she left the meeting, and that was all she knew about him.

Maybe that'd change during this trip.

Something else stood out to Jane as they began to enter the ship, with Kain taking the lead and explaining their mission. She was, without a doubt, the crew's youngest member. And the one with the least amount of experience. But that was fine with Jane. It was just a motivation to do her best twice as much and not let anyone down.

When the ramp started to close, she felt a slight discomfort in her body and a tremble in her hands. It was the same for every ship and every flight. Her body couldn't get used to being trapped within metal walls, despite having flown quite a lot by now. But she'd push through.

Black empty eyes shifted up to Gavin as he mentioned sharing a room with someone and snoring. That punching remark made it sound like a real big deal to him.
"I am not worried about snoring or where I sleep. But I do not snore. So I can sleep wherever everyone wants."

"Aris." There was no reason to introduce himself as anything more, right? It'd just be a brag at this point, especially when their goal was just a simple freighter mission. With a good number of combatants. His brow furrowed in it's barely noticeable way as he glanced to Kain. ".. I don't need to sleep often, so I'll just sleep when everyone else isn't." Shifts would make it that much easier to avoid sharing beds.

"What kind of trouble are we looking at for possibilities?"

More and more people had come, Aris and Gavin - whom he was more familiar with. Then there was another, a blue haired kid maybe a couple years younger than Ace was. As per usual for him, he simply observed in silence as everyone else conversated, following Kain and the others as they entered the ship. Through listening, he was already gathering the information he needed.

They were heading to Mon Cala for medical supplies, and maybe weapons and other things. Kain also explained a little more about himself, how he used to be a Jedi and such. Well, at least he wouldn't be the only trained non-Jedi a part of this little adventure.

Gavin seemed to be the kind of guy to say what everyone was thinking, or at the very least, he asked the right questions. In this instance, the right question being: sleeping arrangements. His dark eyes shifted between Gavin, Jane and Aris who made their preferences known. After a moment, Ace would finally speak up too.

"I prefer sleeping alone. Anywhere will do, I guess."

After spending an entire childhood at an impoverished orphanage, Ace learned to love his space... and to sleep in the worst condititions that the galaxy had to offer.

Aris asked a valid question too, what trouble to expect. Ace waited for Kain to answer the crimson-haired Epicanthix before following up with one of his own.

"Do the Mon Calamari know we're coming for more than just medical supplies?"

He wasn't opposed to illegal activity, after all they were part of a rebel insurgency. But, Ace preferred to know exactly what to expect going forward, and what kind of mission this was about to be.

"Lestra."

That was his response straight away to Gavin Restur Gavin Restur . Whilst Lestra hadn't felt a need to tell his name to everyone, if they had asked, of course he was going to say it. Why wouldn't he? As everyone started to state their sleeping preferences and arrangements, Lestra just kept his hands in his pockets, rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet.

"Just gimme a corner to curl up in, and I'll be fine. It's what I used to do with the Kath Hounds back home."

Of course, in those cases, Lestra usually had the Kath Hounds to look out for him in case any other beast came wanting to eat him...but he trusted this lot enough to be faux-Kath Hounds. He kept a little toothy grin on his face, not even thinking how...strange it might have been to hear someone tell you that they slept around wild Kath Hounds.

"Even if the Mon Calamari do know we're coming, it's still in Imperial space. It doesn't hurt to be on guard a wee bit."

A shrug of his shoulders. Lestra wasn't overly fussed about the details of the mission. He was here for the ride. Details would just bog him down and make everything so much more complicated. Which is why he'd prefer to act as if the details didn't matter as he found a chair to throw himself down in, folding his legs beneath him on the chair to watch the others.

Kain hadn't really thought about the finer details surrounding the fact he invited a whole bunk party to sleep on his ship that was mainly meant to run with three or four depending on the needs. This meant with Aris and Lestra they were two over the four bunk beds aboard the Runner. Luckily Aris had called it. "Well there are two separate bunk beds and then in the common area there's a couch, If I don't fall asleep in my flight seat I usually crash there watching holos..." He turned to Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound now. "If you want seclusion I have sleeping bags stashed in the smuggling compartment here in the cargo bay. If you don't mind the hum of the hyperdrive you're free to knock out in here." Kain pointed out a small bundle of cloth where there were several sleeping canvases tied together.

He then kept walking through the ship backwards thinking about Aris' question for a bit. Kain didn't like to give issues like what problems they could run into even a forethought. He understood the worry though. "Honestly? Pirates are my biggest concern, or well, not really a concern but the biggest danger for us. Medical transportation is either handled by larger cruisers or packed away in destroyers. And for people with a bounty, we're going to look like a golden Meiloorun." His head bounced to Acier to follow up. "Yes! With caveats. The meds were pretty much bought for with a favor and a promise." Kain failed to elaborate any further on that point.

"As for the arms and the shield. The weapons are stun modules I- Well that I made my business partner purchase. Only Imps get the fun blasters they produce, thankfully for us all I have the parts and know how to get them... fully operational. As for the shield it's a trade too. I drafted a schematic for them to draw back on energy output in their factory. Took the genny as payment." Kains hands had been held out to his side as if to say. 'Look, I'm somewhat competent.' From there he began pointing out the doors within the ship. "Armory- Well, that's more of a workshop, that's the hyperdrive controls, that's the med-bay. Over there is the common area slash holo-table; forewarning one side of it is rigged to win. Kitchen is there, bunks are across the hall. Cockpit is here... what else. OH! The turret access is in the middle of the hall just be careful not to eat it during low light hours."

Then Lestra Thairk Lestra Thairk brought up the final point Kain was going to make before liftoff. Good old TIC, Imps yeah. fanatic dark side users? thankfully not many of them. This didn't really have weight upon the next words that came out of Kain's mouth. He was going to have this talk with them regardless, and his tone had dipped into a more serious range "Yeah... I have an in to Imperial Confederacy space through my buddy Vyn, I trust him and the codes he gave me. However, most of us are force users, some of us still Jedi on top of it. We should be completely fine until we dock, but I can't stress this enough. If you plan to take a jaunt around the station, either hid your saber, or leave it on my boat." His narrow gaze examined each person aboard his ship, slowly, deliberately watching for their reactions. "Even if we do get caught up this ship is alarmingly fast for a reason. Forget the meds, forget the blasters and the shield. None of it is more important than all of us getting out of there alive yeah?"

Well, that's a lot of information.

He followed along where Kain Aldore Kain Aldore had walked to. Listening to whatever the man had to say. Tilting his head to glance to whatever room he was talking about. Even giving a strange look to the part where they're getting the meds based off of 'a favor and a promise'. Glancing to the likes of Aris Noble Aris Noble and Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound to make sure he wasn't the only one who heard that, before ultimately rolling his eyes and continuing.

"Have to agree with the man, there. Don't care how badly it ends up going, as long as we all get out in one piece, I'll be happy."

"To add on,"
Taking a moment to glance between everyone. "...since I am willing to bet I am the only person here who doesn't have any sort of Force powers, if we get stopped and questioned about such, or anything along those lines happens, I can handle the talking. And if I can't, then at least try to wait up for me as we all run away."

Two separate bunk beds, and sleeping while others were awake. That all seemed reasonable to Jane. Although, she couldn't imagine being awake alone in such a large metal cage of doom while everyone else slept. But surely, she could find a way around it. Perhaps she could stick with Gavin, who felt safe to be around. Or Lestra, who was easygoing. Something about Lestra's melody in the Force felt familiar, like the forests she enjoyed walking through, but in human form.

In silence, the short girl followed the group deeper into the ship's hull. Her purple scarred hands began to tremble slightly, which was by now common on ships. While she didn't feel the fear associated with the tremble, something deep within her body held that spark, which awoke the moment she lost sight of the soil beneath her boots.

But Jane tucked her hands at her sides; this trip was worth it.

Black cybernetic eyes jumped from person to person as the mission's dangers were discussed. Pirates and bounty hunters—again, weren't the bounty hunters good people?—and, above all, Imperial Confederacy territory. That was a bit of an issue, especially for a Jedi. Thankfully, Jane's outfit was not the most traditional Jedi-like due to her alterations, and her large purple robe concealed everything except the wraps on her arms, which were also not Jedi-like. She could get away with it. Unless someone could sense her.

Finally, her gaze focused on Gavin.
"Yes. You talking is the best idea. If we have to run, I will not leave you behind. I will protect you." With her modified training Lightsaber, she could leave quite a sting. Sure, she couldn't stop an entire army... but one or two, allowing Gavin to flee? She would try. He was her first true friend.

"Kain, you said there is a medical bay? I've been working on getting better at healing. If someone is hurt, I will try to help that way." Jane spoke, her monotone voice not once shifting.

Ace shifted his pack higher on his shoulder as they wound through the corridors, dark eyes flicking from room to room when Kain pointed things out. The mention of "a favor and a promise" earned a quiet huff from him, unsure of whether it was a genuine laugh or disbelief. It was something that made his gaze slide toward Aris and Gavin. Making sure he wasn't the only one who caught that.

"Guess I'll take the smuggling compartment then." He said finally, half to Kain and half to himself. "I'm used to noise. Doesn't bother me."

He leaned lightly against the bulkhead, arms folded. Listening, cataloguing. Gavin's offer to handle the talking made sense. Jane's voice broke through after, steady but monotone as she promised to protect the man. Ace's eyes flicked between the two of them, lingering for a moment before he spoke again.

"Good. Means we all know where we stand if this goes sideways." His gaze swept the group, lingering briefly on Lestra's grin before shifting back to Kain. "We've all got our part to play. So long as we keep that straight, we'll get through it."

His lips pressed into a thin line, thoughtful as he glanced down - not really looking at anything.

"If pirates really are the biggest risk, then we shouldn't just sit around waiting for it. Better we set some kind of watch schedule now. Four days is a long time to drift blind in hyperspace, yeah?"

Lestra's grin faded away at Jane Jane 's promise to protect Gavin Restur Gavin Restur . Only for a moment, before in the blink of an eye it was back on his face. Wider than normal, as if he had caught himself and was trying to conceal it. It would be no surprise that he didn't like the idea of that, mostly because in his eyes Jane was just a kid...forgetting the fact that at the end of the day, so was Lestra. It was something he'd just have to act like it didn't bother him...whilst also keeping more of a watchful eye out now. The fun and games couldn't last forever even if he acted otherwise.

He had caught Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound 's glance towards him when the man spoke about knowing where things stand if things go sideways. Lestra just gave a non-committal shrug to the glance. He knew absolutely where he'd stand if things were going sideways, with his spear plunged into the chest of whoever would dare attack this ragtag group of misfits...Actually, on second thought, that wasn't very much a Jedi-like thought...Oh well! The lad just tapped his spear on his shoulder a few times, as if reassuring himself it was there.

"Don't need to worry about leavin' a saber here myself. Ain't even got one."

It was as if he wore the idea of not having a lightsaber as a badge of honour! In all honesty? It was because Lestra didn't actually understand all the technological doodads and gizmos. Plus hey, he was happy with his spear. It hadn't failed him yet. Well, this specific one. There was that last one that snapped when he hit the dummy too hard...and the one before that which he had thrown and never got back...Huh. Come to think of it, his spears fail him a lot...Oh well!
