Private This side of Coruscant

The crowd was small tonight on Coruscant word was that there was an invasion that had sucked up half the galaxy. Rekha had considered going to check it out but she also felt the need to be close to home right now. There were other rumblings on Coruscant about a new government, and an new flag to fly over the sector. She'd have to find out and see what the game was and how she would play.

Jarrod was in the back fussing over food, while she, Ava, and Eva took the front of the house. Eva had come from Bespin in need of a break and to be around close friends. It was good to have them both here she liked hearing the banter and teasing. It felt like old home week for her.

The Keladian just listened for a change rather than join in.

Ava the older curvy female couldn't believe what she was hearing, "You don't know what you're talking about. How would you know about rodians anyhow?"

Eva a lovely blue twi'lek did a little shimmy "Once you go green you won't go back is all I'm saying"

Rekha laughed shaking her head.

"Hmpf" echoed from the kitchen bringing everyone's attention to the large man in the doorway, Jarrod - "I can think of a few species where that is impossible"

Rekha finally had to jump in, "It sounds like you all need some 'shore leave'" She looked around, "Can we talk about something else?" She neede shore leave too but they didn't need to know that.

No one paid attention to the doors or who was coming in just then, it would definitely surprise Rekha.

Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell

Makai didn't visit the Core often. Most of his work was done in the Outer Rim and Unknown Regions, sticking to odd backwaters and relatively unpopulated planets. Spacestations too, there were times he wouldn't set foot on solid ground for months on end. It was odd considering how often he typically preferred to visit the ocean.

So it was odd he was on Coruscant. Makai hated cities and urban sprawl. Conducting business for his father he didn't get to pick what planet was often conducted on however. Hence the necessary evil to visit the busy and bright center to the galaxy. Since he already had to visit the planet,Makai figured he would stop by his favorite bar owned by Rekha Kaarde Rekha Kaarde .

Makai quietly entered and took a seat at the bar, feet hooking into the foot rest. A napkin was slid in his direction. He took that as a sign to order.

"I'll have a Blue Virgin."

Ava had handed Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell the napkin, "A blue virgin, ya know there's a story behind that drink. Want to hear it?" Ava set about making the drink. Rekha had heard the drink order and Ava's offer to tell a tale.

Rekha however stood there looking at who had ordered the drink. She tilted her head, and squinted...she was older and sometimes her vision not so great but she could swear....she took another step. Then leaned back, I'll be karked then she laughed.

"Oh Ava you don't have to tell the story to him, I bet he knows....don't cha squirt?" She nodded to Ava and winked.

Ava looked again she had been on the station that day she looked again. She leaned down her blue lekku laying gently on her shoulders. She peered closer, "Are you really him?" She whispered.

Rekha walked over, "Makai?"

"I'd love to hear the story."

Makai was eager to hear the story as told by someone else. Iced blue eyes watched the bartender start to whip the drink up, setting various ingredients out to start. Despite the drink being named after him, the young man had never actually had it. Invented before he was of legal age to drink alcohol, it was a double entendre that he had found great amusement in.

It had seemed they figured out his identity however. How many blue scaled kids were running around?

"Didn't think you'd remember me. Its me, still blue and still a virgin. Its good to see everyone again."

Standing up, he wrapped his arms around Rekha in a large bear hug, squeezing tight.

He had grown up not so much the kid she could pull by the ear. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him in return. "Good to see you, are you lost though?" She let him go and stepped back.

Eva and Ava laughed, and cooed at him. Ava grinned big and gave him his drink, "Well I know you were lead out of a bar on Bespin by the ear by a certain brunette who we shall name Ms. Sarcasm for now."

Rekha rolled her eyes and shook her head.

Ava giggled, "You went off into battle barely still sipping milk from a dish, hence the milk, and then the obvious you're blue. But now how it came about regarding the virgin part...some folks wouldn't even tell how they knew."

Rekha couldn't believe they were doing this, and in front of a crowd in the bar
"Really he was a teenager in a bar with a baby sitter preparing to go into battle in Cloud City. It wasn't a far lead to know he was....inexperienced."

Ava winked at Makai, "I heard that you dropped him into a room full of zeltrons and he turned so pink that he was darker then they were."

Rekha shook her head, "Yeah, that's me. Put the kid in a room full of pheromones and lusty pink females"

Jarrod piped in then, "Who said it was females?"

Eva, "That's right now one said so...."

Rekha groaned and sighed, "I need a drink..something harder than blue milk. Ya'll are pushing it really."

Ava hip checked Eva, "Pushing it good?"

Eva danced some "Baby baby"

The bar did a round, "Push it GOOD!"

Rekha looked around, "really? Really!" She looked at Makai, "Welcome to Coruscant squirt"

"I'm fine, its nice to see everyone again."

Makai sat quietly at the banter going on around him. He wasn't so young that he was drinking milk from a dish but he found himself far too amused to bother to interrupt. Eyebrow lofted as the bar broke out into some type of song-and-dance number. It was clear he should have perhaps stayed in the Outer Rim if this was the greeting. He wondered if this was normal or he was just subjected to special treatment.

"I think I should have stayed in the Outer Rim."

Rekha Kaarde Rekha Kaarde

Rekha laughed, "Oh there are days I think I should have stayed on Bespin." Rekha shook her head, "Don't mind them, most of them are drunk any how and just feeding off the song."

Eva giggled and walked off, "Watch out for Ava she....is frisky. Understand?"

Ava was Ava and Rekha did not know how to explain any of the rest, "Come on squirt let's go sit a little further away from the gang before they start singing again. My private booth over there, no one sits there." She winked grabbed a glass and a bottle of something she liked.

Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell

"Don't worry, I planned on staying away from all of them."

Makai made wide berth of the group at the bar. A little too wild for him but he supposed that was what one expected at a bar. It was part of the experience or allure of coming to such a place. He hadn't figured out the appeal of such places just yet. Probably never would at this point but each to their own in his opinion. Miss Kaarde had grabbed a bottle and was meeting him at her personal booth.

He carefully slid in one side, not failing to notice they were still being watched by her employees.

"Must be a slow night."

Rekha Kaarde Rekha Kaarde

"Good" She smiled course why would he stay away from them. Blue blooded boy of age, and....on his own without the baby sitter speaking, "Hey you didn't bring the baby sitter tonight, did you give him the night off?"

Rekha slid into her seat and motioned for the Squirt to sit wherever he wanted. She like to see the bar and the door. Just in case trouble came from either side she wanted to catch it before it became...bad.

"A slow night in here?" Rekha looked around, "Only if some folks don't do their work." Three pair of eyes quickly found other things to do. "I don't know what they are thinking...course..now...You have grown up ....how did that happen?" Having no children she couldn't relate to them growing up and going off on their own, she knew they did.

But Makai was different not like different different but different because she knew him. He wasn't really a kid anymore...should she stop calling him squirt?

Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell

"Babysitter?" Brows knit, Makai taking the comment far too seriously. He hadn't the need to be 'baby sat' in some time and even then those in charge of him were in friends of his father. "I don't think so. That ship sailed off into the black a long time ago. Long time ago. As for growing up, I ate my leafy greens on a regular basis and it seemed to work. I'd recommend it to anyone."

Makai gave a boyish grin at his own lame take at nutrition and growing up.

"So how has it been? Hows Coruscant? I avoid this place like the plague but business dictated otherwise."

Rekha Kaarde Rekha Kaarde

"Yeah leafy green vegetables my arse...." She laughed it was funny. Then she nodded as if really agreeing, "Well" She really looked at him this time, the boyish features were a bit sharper hinting at the adult he had become. She didn't know if she could get away with calling him Squirt...but she wouldn't let it go..least not yet.

"Anyone with good sense should avoid this place. It's rough at times kid...I mean...Makai. Cartels on the rise and a government that too busy expanding its borders than looking to the folks living here ...but I'm a glutton for punishment so I stay" Glutton for punishment yep she stayed even aftr getting beaten almost to death and why....to get even? To...help others? Or was she really too scared to go anywhere else?

There was Bespin, and the Catatonica...she didn't have to stay. "Are and your Dad still business partners?" A little chit chat....but then she remembered he liked the water...maybe there was an opportunity here.

Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell

"I just don't like city environments, wasn't raised in one and I didn't spend enough time in one to really get used to it. Too many people, nothing green, no water as far as the eye can see. No thank you...Crime, well crime is everywhere and it cannot be avoided. Even out in the middle of nowhere I can run into crime. Seems to be the theme of the galaxy of late."

Makai stretched out in the booth, not bothered to be called kid or squirt. Most people still did.

"Not business partners, more working my backside off so I can prove myself into a leadership position someday. Or to completely take over but he loves that business far too much for that, been doing a lot of work for the mining subsidiary that is in my name."

A slight pause, a small motion of his hand around their surroundings.

"I can move you out of here. And your staff, restart your business where you want. I owe you a lot so it would be repayment for putting up with me."

Rekha Kaarde Rekha Kaarde

He had not changed with that he didn't like feeling crowded. It made her smile looking at him and she really wasn't sure why. Good kid....good guy with a good heart.

But now that offer it wasn't the first time he had said it.

"You want to move me?....What have you got in mind?" She was open but why did he want to do that, she hadn't really done that much for him. Just ya know be around. Maybe that was what he needed just someone but feth she didn't know.

Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell

"Where ever you want to move to. I don't decide such things. I'm not a businessman, just a lowly salvager and occasional miner. I couldn't tell you a location but I could tell you all the logistics on how to move and coordinate said move. Easier than you think. Figuring out what tourists want? Well, you're on your own."

Shoulders shrugged.

"Ive always been partial to a beach setting. Its typically hot and people love to drink in those types of environments."

She took a drink and had a rash idea, "Why don't we do something together?" She smiled. "I mean salvaging is good work and I'm sure pays all the bills. But maybe we need something...else something...beachy."

She liked the beach, she liked water, she a long history with water. Maybe it was time to...well expand some....find some new ways to establish some information routes.

But then....she wouldn't want the squirt to get hurt but a business together could be fun. She waited now to see what he would say to that.

Makai wasn't expecting a business offer. Simply a move and perhaps a persuading of naming another drink after him, something incredibly silly. He did enjoy the Blue Virgin drink and would want it to stay but it would be legendary to have two drinks in one bar. Bragging rights and such. Not that he had too many people to run off and brag to.

"Something beachy? That is a broad range to narrow it down to but alright. I can't promise I can always deep dive in due to the day job but I can always take a stretch of time off to help. We can handle logistics remotely until you need me to pack and carry boxes. Or use a hammer. I'm fairly talented even though my polished good looks say otherwise."

He agreed a lot quicker than she expected...maybe he did need another drink named after him, the Quicker than Snot...no that sounds gross. She'd think on it..

"Well...we could do a beach bar....near the water....and...maybe...just for hanging out purposes......" She giggled, "hammer and nails kinda guy...I like someone who can work with their hands." She smiled.

"Well....let's...think....where should we go?" Let him give her a few ideas, and then she'd see how it all sounded. "I have the hookups for alcohol, we need a license, a building, staff...and a drink list....something unique like the Blue Virgin...ya know"

Yep she could name a whole menu after him if he wanted...she tried not to be too full of herself.

Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell

"If you're asking me I would pick Dremulae. High-luxury yachts roam the seas, incredible villas and quaint little towns. The citizens have the credits to spend and are itching to spend them. Make the bar a certain upscale attraction, maybe some live music and sweeping views and I can almost guarantee a booming business. Drunk rich people? Annoying but also easily plied away from their credits. I should know."

Makai shrugged.

"Or are you thinking beach bar outpost? Not as profitable but I'm sure there would be an incredibly odd mix of locals."

Rekha Kaarde Rekha Kaarde

"Are you wanting me to dress up, or put on a hula skirt?" She winked at him and she didn't know why. "High end, usually high end problems too. But a good view will get anyone in, and live music, something...wait....what kind of live music, not like Coruscant orchestra.....more like Max Rebo or Figrin D'an?"

She was not the light harp type of girl and she wasn't sure she could be in a place that said....come in tonight...for your entertainment please all the way from Coruscant, Stells the harpist....more like harpie.

She smiled though and waited for Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell to clarify for her.

Rekha Kaarde Rekha Kaarde

"Beachy music, nothing too upscale. Scantily glad girls could also be considered entertainment too. Might be a bit overdone. I think as long as there is a balance of live music and top shelf liquor than I suspect you will be fine. At this point maybe you could leave this place open but I work more as a silent partner on the new venture. Its always great to expand my portfolio."
