Thanith was still waiting on a Fleet assignment. Which explained why he was not able to participate in the attack on Republic forces even though he had readily volunteered on the spot. Not being one to just sit around and mope. So with some convincing he had convinced command to let him get in some cockpit time. Wanting to be a well rounded pilot Thanith had chosen to get in some gunship training. You never knew when there would be a need before some heavy support.
He didn't know anything about the gunship the guys had nicknamed The Hog. It sounded like a weird name from a ship sounding more like a walker but the young Flt Sgt. didn't question it. Heading to the flight deck he found the one he was going to be using and started the pre-flight inspection.
"Nice very nice." "Not very pretty looking but then again it wasn't created to do pretty things."
Satisfied Thanith climbed into the cockpit looking around the controls.
"Ok so this is here, that is there." "Ok I think I got this."
He hit the tower control frequency to get person to take off lest he be accused of stealing Navy property. The absurdity made him chuckle to himself.
"Tower, Krayt 01 requesting permission to take off?" "Destination range 23."
