Quill's blue blade caught the spear strike, but the force of it drove him back. He glanced over his shoulder at the phantom, which had almost caught up. This situation was gradually growing untenable.
And the shuttle was lifting off. He'd failed.
Imperius' geo-shockwave fractured the walkway and rocked the water on the canal. Quill leaped away from between the two Imperiuses and landed on a very expensive boat. Another leap put him on the far side of the canal: the top of a high cliff.
Sabers deactivated, he stepped off the ledge and disappeared.
Three, after all, was a crowd, and Quill hated crowds.
