They Need To Let Us Out More [Bluejay]

Kamino, Dread Guard training facility
Every hundred hours or so, Nadir stopped to consider what she was doing with the very short life she'd thusfar lived. Wake up, train, drill, spar, sleep. Repeat ad infinitum. Her purpose was clear, but she didn't exactly understand what she was doing to accomplish that purpose. A few missions here or there, a deploy or two for the Confederacy, and then she had nothing for days. Weeks. Months. Just back to the grind of daily life.

Eventually it started to wear on her. CC-329 wasn't exactly the most stable of clones to begin with, and on top of that she seemed to be showing distressing signs of growing a brain. She counted her blessings that the Kaminoans hadn't noticed. Apparently they were too busy being upset with her at not being a gruff, masculine shock trooper like the rest of the Dread Guard to notice that she'd started questioning her existence. Hopefully she could just keep fooling them until she had proven herself to be more of an actual asset than a theoretical one.

Unfortunately, today was not one of those days. Nadir stood with the rest of a group of Dread Sisters. Sisters often trained together, due to differences in the design. They couldn't possibly learn the same CQC routines as males, and often thought in a slightly different manner compared to Fett clones. Nadir could practically remember every one of their unique faces, unique tattoos, unique names. And she could remember the unique way to kill each one in less than five seconds.

Standing in her training spandex with the rest of the small group, Nadir tried hard to distract herself from the ever-present need in her mind to analyze the weaknesses of everyone around her for quick execution. She could use that later, during the hand-to-hand spar, but for now she hadn't been called up to bat.

Bluejay eyed the two sparring pairs. The first was Nine versus Viper - ouch, that looked like it hurt, "Viper! I said no permanent damage!" She shouted. They paused, Viper nodded and stopped just short of removing Nine's right eye. "Nine, keep your eyes open unless you want to loose 'em!" Nine nodded as well.

The second sparring pair was Blaze versus Cobra - nice punch Blaze, excellent counter Cobra - no problems there.

Glancing back at the other one-hundred-and-fifty-three present Dread Sisters, Bluejay made the obvious descision. They were getting bored. Bored commandos not good. With brisk efficiency, she paired off the others into training pairs, until it was down to her and CC-329 - Nadir. "And you're with me."

"Your funeral." Whelp, break time was over. Nadir didn't bother to salute her acquiescence. Bluejay may have been her superior officer, but she was one of the few who Nadir was at least casually familiar with. Instead, she walked into a proper sparring distance and set her leg behind her. She brought her hands up in a proper guard, though they probably wouldn't stay there for long. Best defense, good offense, that sort of thing.

Nadir kept from making eye contact with Bluejay until she was fully set up. It was only through conscious effort that she'd managed this, because she wanted a proper analysis in a proper situation. She wouldn't have surprise on her side this time, after all. Eventually, her gaze found her sister, and she went through the same scan she'd been through a thousand times. 'Overobservant, large target. Jaded against high feints...' A smirk tugged at CC-329's lips. 'Feint high-low, come at throat. Single strike to discombobulate. Reassess defenses.'

Her hands gripped tight, and she waited.

Bluejay, on the other hand, was relaxed, hands loose at her sides. She stood so she faced Nadir with her right shoulder rather than head-on. "Or yours." She replied with a wicked grin.

(Fething short posts. Sorry.)

Well, it looked like Nadir was going to be the one to initiate hostilities after all! She smirked and exploded into motion without any further warning, taking a few quick steps towards Bluejay and bringing up her fist in a quick, easily-blocked strike to the side of the taller woman's head. She followed almost immediately with a dip, her leg popping out in a low, sweeping kick. Both attacks were more form than function.

When CC-329 came back up to a stand, though, her strike was nothing but visceral intent. In the middle of a quick punch aimed at Bluejay's throat, Nadir pulled her knuckles out in an an awkward, folded position. Less kinetic force, but a smaller area that it would be applied. She wasn't aiming to kill, but even when sparring for practice hers were the kind of strikes meant to disable or hobble quickly.

Bluejay had not survived twenty-six years of brutal training and even more brutal reality by being slow. A swipe of her forearm deflected the punch to the side of her head. Three quick steps backward and one step sideways took her out of range of Nadir's sweeping kick.

Then Nadir began her attack in earnest. When her sister's punch sailed towards her, Bluejay sidestepped, bringing up a forearm to deflect as well, and aimed a quick jab at Nadir's exposed ribcage. Her face, which had been relaxed and confident, took on a slightly more concentrated look.

A sidestep, rather than a block, left Nadir overextended just for a moment. She couldn't very well avoid CC-935's attack, so instead she took it. Slight punch to the ribs. No problem. What it offered her was much greater. Nadir's free hand shot down to grab Bluejay's wrist, and with a quick pivot of her hips she brought up one of her knees to strike up at the joint of the taller clone's elbow.

After her little stint with grappling, Nadir stepped back just out of reach and did another quick analysis. 'Feinting ineffective. Must overwhelm. Repeated strikes against same joint optimal. Disable limb for greatest disadvantage.' Her ribs stung. She couldn't deal with too many more of those, though as long as she kept trading up on pain, it would probably go in her favor anyway.

Ah. Jabbing leaves joints exposed. Less effective. Bluejay couldn't exactly keep Nadir from grabbing her wrist, so yanked her elbow in, flexing it. The younger clone's knee still struck her arm - although it was her upper arm rather, but didn't snap her elbow like it would have - might have - otherwise.

Next move? Well, something rather drastic. Such as...well, using her free hand to jab up between Nadir's jawbone and neck, while stomping down heel-first onto Nadir's ankle joint.

Nadir had a little time to react, due to the space she put between them. In a complicated sidestep, she moved her leg out behind her, to avoid the slightly more harmful attempt to crush her ankle at the same time as she ducked out of the way of Bluejay's jab. The awkward sideways lunge left her on one side of her opponent, so she quickly took that opportunity to deliver an elbow strike towards the other clone's outstretched arm.

Instead of falling back, this time Nadir followed through with her own attack, a knife-hand strike at Bluejay's ribs. It prevented her from backing up to a safe distance, but she felt like if she kept being put on the defensive she'd wind up on her ass.

Surprised at Nadir's agile evasion - and berating herself for being surprised at the agility of a clone of herself - Bluejay swung around with Nadir's momentum, using the others grip on her wrist to either yank Nadir around and backwards or force her to let go of her wrist.

Assuming the first option was successful, Bluejay would find herself behind her opponent until she turned around, and attempt to lock her arm in a choke-hold around Nadir's throat. If the second was successful, she would back off a few steps and wait for Nadir to come to her with another attack.
